Multicultural Education from the Perspective of Students of Secondary Schools in South Bohemian Region
KAŠPÁRKOVÁ, Michaela
Today's society is characterized by its multicultural diversity. Within the European Union you can travel and work freely in other countries, the same is true on the other hand, when in the Czech Republic there are still more foreigners who are trying to find a new home. Because of the ever increasing cultural pluralism may arise conflicts that may arise from disparities and the unknown. It was one of the reasons why schools introduced multicultural education. This thesis is called "Multicultural Education from the Perspective of Students of Secondary Schools in South Bohemian Region" and is divided into two parts. The first is the theoretical and the second part is practical. The theoretical part discusses the basic concepts of multicultural education such as the multiculturalism, ethnic group, nation, race, prejudice, etc., without which it would be difficult to orient in the area of multicultural education. The second half of the theoretical part deals with multicultural education in Czech schools, where the emphasis is on the curricula of multicultural education which came with us, talking about what should a teacher be, who is trying to implement multicultural education, etc. The practical section discusses the stated objectives of work and mentions the methodology used in the research and describes the research file. In the practical part it presents the results of the data obtained. This work has established two goals and two research questions. The aim of this study was to determine whether and how it is implemented multicultural education in secondary schools in South Bohemia and the second objective was to determine the attitudes and knowledge of students in the first and fourth years of school with the issue of multiculturalism in our country and the world. To achieve the objectives of qualitative the research was used in which eighteen semi-structured interviews with teachers who work at eleven secondary schools in South Bohemia were carried out. Interview questions were divided into four categories for better evaluation. To achieve the second objective it was compiled the questionnaire with mainly open-ended questions which were designed for students of the first and fourth years of four year schools. The questionnaire was completed so that the data could then be used to evaluate 130 first-year students and 130 fourth grade students on eleven secondary schools in South Bohemia. The results of interviews showed that to implement the education is not an easy task even though all respondents try to fulfill the Framework educational program for secondary school, which says that multicultural education should go throughout all the subjects. Teachers in the implementation of this education face difficulties. In most cases respondents, who teach social science, agreed that they have lack of time for teaching. This is precisely this subject in which multicultural education is crucial and should be implemented. Another problem is that teachers at all or poorly attend courses related to this cross-cutting theme. It is precisely at these seminars where the teachers can draw ideas on how to incorporate multicultural education into their lessons. Also they could obtain guidance documents, which all respondents are missing, at these seminars and perhaps this is the reason why multicultural education is little integrated. The results of the questionnaires helped to clarify that multicultural education is beneficial, at least in terms of knowledge and awareness of students with this issue. The fourth grade students in this area are more familiar and have larger insight than the first-year students. In the area of attitudes minor differences are seen when students of the first and fourth grades in most cases correspond to different views and attitudes.

KUNEŠOVÁ, Martina
This bachelor's thesis is focused on chronic pain in dying patients at the aftercare department. The theoretical part focused on chronic pain description and its division, chronic pain treatment possibilities, characterization of a terminal stage and work done by nurses at the aftercare department. This part is supposed to present the most important information concerning chronic pain in dying patients. The practical part provides results of a gualitative research. This research had four objectives. The first objective was to identify the benefits of nursing care provided to dying patients with chronic pain in palliative care. The second objective focused on the attitude of nurses towards the patients in the terminal stage. The third objective was to identify the nursing methods used during the provision of care to a patient with pain in palliative care. The fourth objective was to assess the knowledge of nurses working at the aftercare department regarding the up-to-date treatment of pain in palliative care. Four research questions were established based on these four goals: What is the benefit of nursing care in treatment of pain in palliative care? What is the attitude of nurses towards the patients in the terminal stage? Which new nursing methods possibilities can palliative care provide to patients with pain? What information on treatment of pain in palliative care do nurses have? The research was performed using an in-depth structured interview, which is a method of the gualitative research. The research samlpe consisted of eight practice nurses working at the Aftercare Department in Nemocnice České Budějovice a. s. The interview was aimed at information on benefits of nursing care, the attitude of nurses towards dying patients, nursing procedures used and also knowledge of the nurses working at the aftercare department. The interviews were recording in writing. The records were analysed and coded using an open coding method. Six categories were established as follows: Nursing care procedures in treatment of chronic pain in dying patients, Effectiveness of chronic pain treatment in dying patients, Benefits of nursing care, Attitude of nurses towards dying patients with chronic pain, Collaboration with families and Nurses' knowledge. It was found out during the research that the benefit of nursing care is enormous, the care brings satisfaction of patients, safety, communication, sufficient amount of information, ensuring of basic needs, contact, information on current changes in the state of health, offer of better care, psychological support, better collaboration between nurse and a patient and a family, and also promixity of personnel. Thereforte, I think it is possible to consider the nursing care to be very beneficial. Furthermore, the following attitudes of nurses towards the dying patients were discovered: Trust or distrust of nurses in ability to display pain, active interest by nurses, approach to patients and communication. The research also discovered the following nursing procedures used in treatment of chronic pain in dying patients: positioning, heat application, cold application, massages and refraining from needless manipulation. The knowledge of nurses regarding the current treatment of pain in palliative care contains extensive information on principles of analgesic and opiate administration, which are applied by the nurses working at the aftercare department. A practical output of this thesis is a handbook called Administration of Opiates and Usage of Intoxicants Record, which is intended for use by practice nurses.

The technical solution of this diagnostic device for in-situ and laboratory measuring of conventional strength and the module of deformation by opening clamps in a drilled hole belongs to the field of quality and material property testing, especially concerning timber. In dependence on the specific technical solution, the device can be used for an establishment of conventional strength and the module of deformation of any material by opening clamps in a drilled hole in the examined volume. It also finds application in the situations when resistance drilling cannot be used and the mechanical properties of timber need to be established through the entire section of the examined element. Its main advantages are its speed and simple operation without a need for power distribution network.
