Recommendation system module analysis and design

Recommendation systems serve to users of e-commerce applications for individual recommendations to certain products or services based on their preferences. The aim of this thesis is to create a module of recommender system. The work includes analysis of recommendation systems and the methods used in these systems, including a description of the calculations. This work also solves the cold start problem, which is a problem when generation of some good recommendations for the new user is needed, but the recommendation system has no or little information about this user. Based on analysis is in this thesis designed module for recommender system, which is applicable e.g. internet for e-commerce or other internet-based application. Part of this module is the realization of a platform Apache Mahout, which some parts are built on a distributed computing platform Apache Hadoop project. Furthermore, in this work, on the aforementioned platform Mahout, selected methods of calculating the similarity using selected criteria (e.g. the average time for a recommendation, and the number of users for who have not been able to generate recommendations) are tested.

Marketing strategy of internet shop

This thesis deals with marketing strategy of the internet gift shop Dobrýkoš.cz. It is an internet gift shop with a focus on selling gift baskets filled with exclusive foreign delicacies. Marketing strategy is based on market research and personal experience from my time in this online shop. Thesis evaluates a questionnaire focused on the assessment of products and services provided to existing customers, recommends marketing strategy for this online project and shows actual process of the implementation of particular advertising campaign through radio advertising. The advertising campaign is focused on promoting new products. The conclusion recommends a method of work with existing customers and sales department, outlines marketing strategy and marketing of social networks.

Development of trade in goods and services between Germany and countries of the Visegrad Group between 2004 and 2008

This paper examines the trade between Germany and countries of the Visegrad Group (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, thereinafter as V4) from 2004 to 2008. Germany is a very important business partner for all of these countries. It focuses mainly on the influence of the economic development of Germany on trade of these countries and also the influence of the EU eastward enlargement in May 1st 2004, when the countries of V4 joined the internal market of EU. Firstly, the economic development in Germany between 2004 and 2008 is described. Other factors, which influenced the trend in trade between Germany and the countries of V4 are also mentioned. After that, description of the development of trade in goods and services between Germany and each single country follows - before 2004 and between 2004 and 2008. Finally, development of the trade of particular countries is compared. On the basis of this comparison, a strong influence of the development of the German economy mainly on the trade in goods between Germany and countries of V4 is proven. There is also an obvious effect of EU eastward enlargement -- it evoked a strong increase in export and import. Following characteristics are typical for trade between Germany and countries of V4: For all of these countries Germany is the main business partner, but it's share on the trade of these countries is decreasing. Big share of machinery and transport equipment (mainly in Hungary and Slovakia) is also important. Trade in this commodity group strongly depends on the economic situation in Germany.

This thesis deals with exterior and interior design of shopping centre Chodov and his sales units, store layout, assortment, offered services and possibilities of refreshment. The next part is dedicated to mothers and their view of shopping centre. Then you can find there a brief presentation of organised exhibitions and finally I made a survey among customers.

Analysis of buying atmosphere in selected Lidl and Penny retail shops

The bachelor's thesis takes on analysis of buying atmosphere in selected Lidl and Penny retail shops. Specifically shops located in Prague's South Town. First chapter is dedicated to theoretical specification of buying atmosphere and definition of its main determinants. End of the chapter summarises all methods of multi-dimensional ratings used in this thesis. Second chapter focuses on presenting both companies including their scale of products and services. Last chapter deals with the analysis itself with subsequent comparison of buying atmosphere in the selected shops. The analysis comprises both subjective as well as objective assessment of their customers. The chapter also proposes suggestions on improving drawbacks found through the analysis.

Economic Diplomacy in the 21st Century

This study examines the changing nature of the economic diplomacy in past and recent years. Since the end of the Cold War, there has been an important dynamics in the international relations. The consequences of this dynamics touch also the economic diplomacy, which is transformed by the effects of the economic globalisation and becomes more complex and important at the same time; it becomes one of the most influental instruments of state's foreign policy. The growing complexity means that there has been new players, issues and arenas emerged. New players, state and non-state; the latter have deep impact on the nature of economic diplomacy. Bussiness sector, represented mostly by transnational companies (TNCs) and "the global civil society" represented vy international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) shift the balance of power within the state. The central role of state is challenged and his power fragmentised. Except this horisontal widening of economic diplomacy yb growing numbers of its actors, it is also deepening in terms of its agenda. The national policies become internationalised or even globalised (services, investment, enviroment, customer protection, labour standards) and the regulation of international trade puts pressure on national governements to to reconsider the strategy and their...

Holiday Resort near Water Reservoir Král´ová

The subject of the diploma thesis is design a new building with a camping in the village Šoporňa. The building is situated near the river Váh on flat terrain. Emphasis was placed on the total visual impression of the building on its stand out from the surrounding landscape. The building will serve as a recreation building with the possibility of short and long-tern housing. There is a restaurant with outdoor seating and an accommodation capacity for 90 people, trade with sport equipment, service for vehicles and boats, garage for boats, a 11,6 metres high climbing wall, conference rooms and halls for exercise. The building has three floors above and no basement. The project includes a flat roof with an attic.

Evaluation of the customer service quality standards throught the Mystery Shopping methode

The aim of this thesis is to present and let understand a method of marketing research known as a Mystery Shopping, which is used to evaluate the customer service standards provided by the employees. Firstly, the Mystery Shopping is theoretically analyzed and described, then it is practically used. Practical part of this study concentrates to evaluate the customer service standards in selected Tesco retail stores.

NÁMESTOVO : Possibilities of the town

The northernmost territory of Slovakia. Upper Orava. Immediate neighbors with Poland, the proximity of the border with the Czech Republic. Centre vast and relatively densely populated district (an area of 690, 46 km2 and are home to 60,653 inhabitants). The whole region is a protected area, richly wooded. Right in the city cadastre passes Ramsar protected area. The town lies at the foot of Orava Beskydy, Magura and the banks of the Orava dam, which flooded the western part of the Orava Basin. The district does not rail, relatively dense settlements generates raster-developed road network and frequented suburban bus service. Cities Tvrdošín and Trstená are just 14 km far from Namestovo. Total 24 800 inhabitants combines an attractive route in the Orava Dam whose potential should be multiplied by completing the cycle path. Despite the lower number of inhabitants (8000) Námestovo is the centre a common system of public administration, recreation center, summer festivals and nightlife, the city that attract large numbers of visitors. Addressed area is located at the junction of the center of Namestovo and housing estates - places with the highest concentration of citizens. Meaning a small center of a small town is gaining esteem size of its catchment area. The functions above-urban importance are located in four areas - Square post office Hviezdoslava to the commercial zone, shops and services. Námestie A. Bernoláka - administration and authorities Lower Shores - health, industrial zone - centered manufacturing and service jobs in manufacturing. Out ff these sites two are located in solved area - commercial and health. Despite its importance, its appearance, depiction of a character does not correspond to his post. Absent are deeper expression, grasping and subsequent use of public space, and the concept of long-term strategy.

The economic position of Vietnam within the region and the world

The master thesis is about the economic position of Vietnam within the region and the world. The first chapter begins with the economic development of Vietnam since the mid-1980, focusing on the reform process, which began in 1986. It outlines the facts that preceded the reform process, its basic features, and resulting effects of the transformation. Emphasis is also placed on the evaluation of the position of Vietnamese economy in 21st century. The second chapter offers basic economic characteristics of the country. Some of the macroeconomic indicators (GDP, inflation, unemployment, and selected items of Balance of payments) are analyzed with regard to the global economic development. The third chapter is about the participation of Vietnam in international economic relations. It describes country's participation in international organizations and regional blocs. Foreign trade will be discussed on the basis of trade in goods and trade in services. And finally, foreign direct investments are also analyzed as they are a major source of economic growth in the country. The fourth chapter presents foreign trade relations of Vietnam with selected players of the world economy: the European Union, the United States, the Czech Republic and ASEAN countries.
