Overview and Comparison of Religious Programs on Public TV in Czech Republic and Spain in 2010
Thompson, Anna ; Provecho López, Juan Ignacio (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
This diploma thesis "Overview and Comparison of Religious Programs on Public TV in Czech Republic and Spain in 2010" maps and compares periodical religious programs of Česká televize and Televisión Española in 2010. It concentrates on specifics of religious TV production in both countries. The theoretical part outlines the church-media context which serves as a background for the actual research. This part consists of: demographic contrasts between both countries (comparing numbers of adherents), basic data on the history of religious broadcasting, and presents the Church documents that concern mass media. It offers an outline of media legislation which stipulates the framework to which programming must adhere. The practical section provides an overview of programs, broadcast in both countries, along with their brief characteristics and comparisons. It then proceeds to analyze their content, focusing mainly on three topics: ecumenism, proselytism and bioethics. These topics allow ascertainment of significant differences in religious TV production in both countries. The closing part critically evaluates the results obtained in the course of research, taking in consideration changes since 2010.

Řehoř, Ivan ; Lukeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Lang, Kamil (referee) ; Peters, Joop (referee)
Titanium Dioxide - Phosphonate Assemblies as Medical Nanoprobes Ivan Řehoř PhD. Thesis Abstract: Multimodal imaging-therapeutic nanoprobe TiO2@RhdGd was prepared and successfully used for in- vitro and in-vivo cell tracking as well as for killing of cancer cells in-vitro. TiO2 nanoparticles, 12 nm in diameter, were used as a core for phosphonic acid modified functionalities, responsible for contrast in MRI and optical imaging. The phosphonic acid derivatives, used for surface modification, allows for grafting extraordinarily high loads of irreversibly adsorbed molecules of both types in one step. The prepared probe shows very high 1 H r1 relaxivity value as well as relaxivity density value, both crucial parameters for its use in MRI. The presence of fluorescent dye in its structure allows for its visualization by means of fluorescence microscopy. The applicability of the probe was studied, using three living systems - mesenchymal stem cells, cancer HeLa cells and T-lymphocytes. The probe did not exhibit toxicity in any of these systems and its long time storage in a lysosomal compartment was confirmed. Labeled cells were successfully visualized in-vitro by means of fluorescence microscopy and MRI. Consequent visualization of labeled cells in-vivo by means of fluorescence microscopy was also achieved....

The role of Toxoplasma gondii on the expression of Major Urinary Proteins in the house mouse
Hladovcová, Denisa ; Stopka, Pavel (advisor) ; Hrdý, Ivan (referee)
Major Urinary Proteins (MUP) are pheromonal transmitters involved in chemical communication in rodents. Complexes of MUPs and ligands mediate information about genetical background of an individual and co-create individual scent profile. They play a significant role in kinship determination, the crucial factor in the choice of a mating partner. It is assumed that the MUP production is energetically demanding due to the pressure of sexual selection, and the transmitted signal is thus supposed to be honest. This theory hasn't yet been experimentally tested, neither was proven the effect of another intense selection pressure- a parasitic infection. In my thesis, I describe the effect of an infection of a parasite Toxoplasma gondii on MUP production. The results suggest that the production is altered in both sexes, the production decreasing in males to the level of male castrates (or the female level). Considering the results of more detailed analysis of the infection we assume that the energetical demands of the MUP production doesn't allow the production of ordinary amounts if MUPs during the first phase of the infection as the energy is primarily devoted to the infection control. The increased production in latter phase can be attributed to the importance of scent communication. Decreased levels of...

Right of establishment in international private law
Štaňko, Andrej ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
Right of establishment in International Private Law Private companies act in the international context more intensively than any time before. There are many ways how to act on the international market. One solution is to establish a branch or a representation office instead of establishing a brand new company. The right to act in the international context using branch companies and transfer of seat is known as the freedom of establishment. The thesis covers main issues concerning the freedom of establishment and also discusses the case law issued by the Court of Justice of the European Union. The comparative view of the seat and incorporation principles is used in the thesis. With a greater detail to the Czech law, the issue of the foreign companies' recognition is discussed. The Czech law recognizes foreign companies even in the form in which it is no longer possible to establish new company in the Czech Republic. In this regard basic elements of the bare trust are discussed. The case law of the the Court of Justice of the European Communities opened Europe's corporate space and allowed the competition between the national jurisdictions to begin. Author compares situation arised on the European market with the situation in the US. As an evidence of the distinction between different US states'...

Složení a struktura plazmově stříkaných prášků chromové ocele
Schneeweiss, O. ; Voleník, Karel ; Kolman, Blahoslav Jan
Chromium steel powder (13% Cr) was sprayed by a water stabilized plasma gun. The changes of composition and structure occurring during two plasma spraying stages were studied. To characterize the main features of the first (in-flight) stage product, the molten powder particles flying in the plasma stream were trapped and quenched in liquid nitrogen. At the second stage, the particles were allowed to hit a solid substrate and to form a coating. The composition of the feedstock powder and the samples resulting from both plasma spraying stages were determined by chemical methods and X-ray microanalysis. Significant Cr-depletion was due mainly to selective oxidation of chromium at the in-flight stage. At the second stage, the composition changes were less important. Some details of the structure, in particular the distribution of Cr-atoms in the nearest neighbourhood of a Fe-atom, were assessed employing the results of Mössbauer spectroscopy.

Bishop's picture universe. Pontifical of Renaud de Bar - both parts from Prague and Cambridge
Faktorová, Liza ; Royt, Jan (referee) ; Hlaváčková, Jana Hana (advisor)
This work deals with two parts of the Renaud de Bar's Pontifical (ms. XXIII C 120 - National Library of the Czech Republic and ms. 298 - Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge), an extraordinary liturgical book illuminated between 1302-1316 for bishop of Metz in the region of Lorraine. Both manuscripts have been considered as two separated liturgical books untill recent period. Detailed comparation of their content and decoration, which goes over usual temporary production, allows understand that they are two parts of one identical pontifical. Its decoration is unique especially due to multitude of images illustrating medieval liturgy and number of drolleries. The aim of this work is to open new topics for future researches. They might explain some problems, which arose during detailed description of the manuscripts' decoration. Special attention is dedicated to picture supplement.

This work deals with the insurance of the banking products, i.e. with the insurance products, which explicitly insure or are closely connected to some banking product. Therefore, an interaction of banking and insurance activities is present in this area of insurance. The overview of both of the financial institutions' activities opens this thesis in order to explain the interaction between the activities of banks and insurance companies. Possible ways of integration of this interaction, which allowed increased efficiency, follow the opening introduction. Bancassurance as a way of selling insurance through banks is explained in a separate part. After a short overview of the banking products, the thesis is completed by the analysis of the key insurances of them.

Cultural differences in educatin Czech and English families
Zmeková, Olga ; Slaboch, Martin (advisor) ; Tereza, Tereza (referee)
The master thesis introduces the educational systems in the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, with focus on England. When assigning the master thesis topic, the author did not realize how extensive and complex the topic was. Therefore, while studying documents, reserching information, and finding respondents, the topic of the thesis narrowed to focus only on the educational systems of both countries and their comparison from the teachers´point of view. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is built on information gained from studying documents. The author will present both systems, their history, basic features, and the individual stages of education. Concerning this topic, a relatively sufficient amount of literary and online resources exists. The practical part of the thesis introduces the results of a qualitative research. As a part of this thesis, ten interviews with teachers who have experience with both the Czech and English educational systems took place. Due to the broadness of the topic, the author has chosen the above mentioned qualitative research, specifically a semi-structured interview, which allows the topic to be researched thoroughly. The teachers had an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience, which they gained throughout their careers. The interviews enabled the author to gain new information which were not found in literature. The personal experiences brought a certain amount of authenticity to the thesis. The conclusion of the thesis consists of a summary of the information the author has managed to gather.
