Voltammetric determination of cancer biomarker 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid at screen-printed carbon electrodes
Makrlíková, Anna ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Barek, J. ; Vyskočil, V.
Tumor biomarker 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (5-HIAA) is a breakdown product of serotonin; level of this neurotransmitter can predict carcinoid tumors. 5-HIAA has been determined at screen-printed carbpon electrodes in the iptimum medium found: Britton-Robinson buffer (0.04 mol l-1, pH=3.0). Dependence of the peak current on the concentration of 5-HIAA was linear in the concentration region from 0.1 to 100 micromol l-1, with the limit of qiantification of 0.2 micromol l-1.

Punishment as a Means of Education of Children and Youngsters

Financial analysis of the company Rudolf Jelínek, a.s.
Bujalková, Jana ; Vochozka, Marek (advisor) ; Krause, Josef (referee)
I analyse the financial position of the company Rudolf Jelinek,a.s. as an external user according to all the accesible public sources. This work is divided into two fundamental parts - the mothodological part and the aplication part. The first part deals with the theorethical cases of the financial analysis. In the aplication part I concentrate on calculating and analysing different indicators, upon which I deduct the final financial position of the company.

"Self-portrait in the circles of smoke": self-fashioning of the modern artist as a smoker in the Czech art at the turn of the 19th and 20th century
Kolářová, Petra ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (referee)
The topic of this Diploma Thesis is the representation of an artist as a smoker in the Czech Art at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. The motive is studied in the works of artists of the 1890s generation and the early avant-garde (Osma, Skupina výtvarných umělců), with the focus on the iconography of a smoker in art as well as the cultural history of smoking. Apart from paintings and graphics it uses other visual sources such as portrait photographs, caricatures published in contemporary newspapers and posters. The Thesis looks for a wider tradition in the European art and maps specific types of artist-smoker for whom cigarette, pipe or cigar is a part of his personal stylization. The first part concentrates on the early usage of the motive in the baroque painting and in the 19th century as such. The next part focuses on self-fashioning of modern artists characterized by their definition against social conventions. The attribute of smoking plays a role of a symbol of bohemian Iife, dandy astuteness, neurasthenic decadent, social or artistic revolt or emancipation of female-artists. The last part deals with the relationship of smoking to the actual art production of modern artists. Smoking is a metaphor for creativity of the symbolist poet or painter who draws the inspiration from his subjective...

Socio-political Aspects of the Development of the Non-profit Sector in the Czech Republic
Ďaďová, Veronika ; Tichá, Milena (referee) ; Havlík, Radomír (advisor)
The first part of this diploma paper concentrates on modern concepts of civil society and definition of nongovernmental sector as an institutionalised part of civil society. In the second part it summarizes the main periods of the development of the non-profit sector in the Czech State from 19 century until 1989. The third part illustrates the image of the non-profit sector in the Czech republic since 1989. It analyzes the discursive controversy over the notion of civil society between two Czech presidents - Vaclav Havel a Vaclav Klaus. It also describes four different types of organizations that constitute the non-profit sector. It analyzes the role, character, financing and classification of Czech non-profit sector, including a description of the barriers which the nongovernmental sector in the Czech Republic faces in the context of complex social processes.

Turn - over positioning table
Mareček, Vojtěch ; Dokoupil, Vladimír (referee) ; Foller, Bronislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with projection and general design of rotary indexing table for dedicated machine tools. The major attention is given to substitution of hydraulic drive table by table driven by servomotor, namely double axis its positions in vertical and horizontal directions. The total configuration of rotary table is solved as a construction kit, user can used any servomotor and additive gearbox. The work is concentrated to the optimization of table construction for this new designed conception. The positioning and fixing of table plate is solved by couple of Hirth couplings with central hydraulic motor. The computational part of work includes calculations of dynamic of rotary motion of the table and hydraulic system. All important screw connection, gear wheels and Hirth couplings were verified by calculations. Also working lifetime of bearings and strength deformation of major constructional sections of rotary table verification were controlled. Inherent part of work is security analysis, economics analysis, patent search and analysis of construction identity. Presented work contains three-dimensional model, drawing documentation of both variants of configurations and production drawing of major section parts of rotary table.

Electrochemical determination of 2-nitrofluorene and investigation of its interaction with DNA
Skalová, Štěpánka ; Stávková, K. ; Barek, J. ; Vyskočil, V.
2-Nitrofluorene (2-NF) belongs to the group of nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are categorized as environmental pollutants and they can manifest mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. A differential pulse voltammetric method at a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was developed for sensitive determination of 2-NF. Under the optimum conditions found, a linear calibration dependence was obtained in the concentration range of 2 x 10(-7) - 1 x 10(-5) mol L-1, with the limit of quantification of 2 x 10 mol L-1. The practical applicability of this method was verified on the direct determination of 2-NF in a model sample of sand. Moreover, the mutual interaction between 2-NF and DNA was investigated using an electrochemical DNA biosensor (DNA-modified GCE). Cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and square-wave voltammetry were employed in this study, confirming the formation of a 2-NF-DNA complex.\n
