Analysis of the medialisation of pope Benedict XVI.'s visit to the Czech Republic in the printed media between 26th and 28th September 2009
Šedivá, Tereza ; Gerbery, Juraj (referee) ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor)
The Bachelor's essay "Analysis of the medialization of pope Benedict XVI.'s visit to the Czech Republic in the printed media between 26th and 28th September 2009" will monitor how the the events connected to this visit were presented in the print media. The Pope's visit is without any doubt such a rare and significant occasion that it is nearly impossible that the media wouldn't react to it. The visit was also quite short, so during three days full of various events unique material was created on which it is possible to observe, demonstrate and characterize the various methods of medialization. The first part of the essay focuses on a characteristic of the general terms used in media studies and on the description of semiotic conception. In the practical part a semiotic analysis, which examines how the Pope's visit was presented in selected dailies, is performed. The particular findings are then interpreted and the final part deals with the generalised results of the research.

Interface for Delphi Programs
Šufliarsky, Peter ; Töpfer, Pavel (referee) ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this project is to create a library for Delphi IDE, which enables external reading, changing values of component properties and simulation of user input in Delphi projects. A control software which demonstrates the functionality of that library is included. Execution of operations supported by the library will be automatizable with a scripting language, which is also included in the project and interpreted by the control software. With this scripting language user will be able to describe user input operations such mouse click, keyboard input, inspecting or setting property values for components in GUI programs. As a result, batch execution and automated testing of GUI programs will be possible.

Tax issues of ownership and transfer of real property with special regard to the ownership of residential premises
Šebela, Ondřej ; Boháč, Radim (referee) ; Vondráčková, Pavlína (advisor)
Appendix 73 Title: Tax issues of ownership and transfer of real property with special regard to ownership of flats The main purpose of my diploma thesis is to point out specifics of real property taxation. I used ordinary situations and tried to focus on remarkable aspects of this area of law. Mentioned difficulties may arise in any time and affect anyone who deals with real property and namely with flats. Some of presented examples demonstrate problems with legal interpretation of rules, some of them indicate lack of legal provisions regarding taxes. Several acts need to be replaced by newer legislation which shall promptly adopt incoming tendencies of new taxation methods. In my work I tried to offer an excerpt of problems which apply to all taxes regulating flats and real property. Each type of tax has its special particularities and questions that must be solved in ordinary life. All used examples come from real practice in this field. So anyone can meet such problems in his life. From my point of view, the most disorganized rule in the Czech Republic is the Income Tax Act in these days. This one should be replaced as quickly as possible, but surely after reasonable considering of all applicable aspects. On the other hand we can find really well prepared rules that need to be maintained in usable form....

Lorca's "impossible" theater: El público (The Public)
Byronová, Lucie ; Vydrová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the play by Federico García Lorca, The Public (El público). The author characterised the work, together with several other plays, as the "impossible theatre" because it was too unconventional to be represented on stage. The object of the thesis is to discover and analyse the aspects of The Public which are connected with its impossibility and subsequently to demonstrate its uniqueness and originality. The topics of love and theatre are essential in the play. However, in contrast to other Lorca's dramatic works, The Public deals with homosexual love which is socially inacceptable and thus produces an internal conflict in the majority of the protagonists. The problematics of the theatre is a subject of conflict too; the urge to renovate the dramatic scene encounters the fear of the possible negative reaction of the audience. The plot of the play thus develops on the personal and on the social level in the same time while the both levels meet in the central motifs of the play, such as the theatre beneath the sand and the open air theatre or the mask. The thesis attempts to interpret these motifs and subsequently to emphasise the richness of meanings in the play. Attention is paid also to the image of audience in the drama and to the manner in which Lorca applies the...

Geomorphological evolution of the Hřebeny Ridge in Brdy
Soukupová, Lenka ; Balatka, Břetislav (referee) ; Kalvoda, Jan (advisor)
4 ABSTRACT The main aims of presented study about the geomorphology of the Hřebeny Ridge in Brdy Mts. are 1/ the documentation of landform patterns and 2/ the description of main stages of the relief evolution. In opening chapters of the paper, the natural envi- ronments of the Hřebeny Ridge and Brdy Mts. as a whole are characterized. In the fol- lowing chapter, a reflection of the geological structure in present-day landforms is de- scribed. Landform analysis of the studied region related to climate-morphogenetic pro- cesses is presented and detailed geomorphological map (1:10 000) is enclosed. Final part of the study is concerned with main stages of the landform evolution of the Hřebeny Ridge. Field observation and its geomorphological interpretation are compared with earlier regional studies. The presented paper demonstrates that landforms of the Hřebeny Ridge in Brdy Mts. are determined by the geological structure, e.g. by the geomorphological resistance of rocks. Present-day landforms of the Hřebeny Ridge evolved in the Quaternary. Im- portant processes of the landform evolution of the region are connected with the origin of deep river valleys. The landform patterns of the ridge part and its slopes are essential- ly influenced by the Pleistocene cryogenic weathering of rocks as well as very intensive...

Artificial neural networks and their application in the assessment of insurance risks
Macek, Karel ; Jiroutek, Pavel (referee) ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor)
The present work studies applicability of artificial neural networks in the assessment of insurance risk. Structure and function of multilayer perceptrons, Kohonen maps, Fuzzy ART networks, and Fuzzy ARTMAP networks are described. Concept of insurance risk is defined and the ratemaking by generalized linear models is introduced. Neural networks' methods for reduction of input space's dimension, knowledge extraction, and visualization are summed up. Data describing traffic accidents are acquainted and results achieved on them are presented. The work successfully demonstrates theoretically and experimentally that multilayer perceptrons approximate better than generalized linear models. Modification of multilayer perceptron estimated distribution function of total claim. Analysis performed by Kohonen map and by subsequent visualization detected two significant clusters. Analysis by Fuzzy ART network is presented as a part of new algorithm for reduction of input space's dimension. New algorithm inspired by Fuzzy ARTMAP network discovered a group of accidents where the claim is above average. This group is delimited by interpretable rules. Attached CD contains scripts for Matlab and MySQL that was used for mentioned analyses.
