Population list according to religious belief in the domaine of Trutnov
Tomková, Adéla ; Zahradník, Pavel (referee) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main subject of this work is to analyse demographic, social and religious trends in the domain of Trutnov after the end of the Thirty Years' War. For this purpose I made use of the Population list according to religious belief from 1651, as a primary resource, which allows a deeper understanding of the state of affairs at the Trutnov domain. As the origin of this List is closely related to the recatholisation efforts, in the initial part of my work , I presented a brief introduction to the religious development at the domain in the post - Battle of White Mountain period. In my work I focused mainly on the analysis of some demographic indicators such as stratification of society based upon age, age difference between spouses or sex ratio. In relation to the religious belief of Trutnov's residents I focused also on the adoption of non-Catholic belief by their children, who not always shared their parents' faith. The last part of my thesis deals with the number of domesticsand their sex distribution, as well as with the role of crafts, suffering from the negative impact of the Thirty Years' War. For this task I used the tax register "Berní rula" for comparison.

Neubauerová, Lenka ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Tomandlová, Věra (referee)
The topic of my thesis "University of Third Age as an Instrument for Improvement of the Quality of Life in Third Age" is focused on the evaluation of the quality of life maintained by education. The theoretical part of my thesis concerns the explanation of the basic concepts connected with the question of demographic aging of population, free time activities, quality of life and importance of education in the third age. The methodological part describes the method of the interview and questionnaire research proceeded at U3A University Jana Evangelisty Purkyně and Fakulty sociálních věd Univerzity Karlovy. Interview performed with coordinators of both U3A is focused on U3V principles and study conditions for the learners. 125 respondents participated on questionnaire research. Analysis of questionnaire results exposed that education provided optimistic and useful free time contents, boosts self-confidence, improves social relationship, keep brain activity in good condition, increases knowledge and skills in various field and is usually supported by family and friends. Summarized, the education boosts the quality of life dimension. The thesis should provide with new proposals how to boots sub-consciousness about the importance and variants of education in the third age.

Projection of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia in the Czech Republic.
Dubová, Petra ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee) ; Burcin, Boris (advisor)
The Czech Republic, as well as other developed countries begin to be penalized by aging of population. Increasing the proportion of older segments of the population is increasingly the subject of various technical reports from the economic field. These reports highlight the disadvantages of this change in age structure. Medical studies indicate dementia as a test of health and social connectivity system and as a threat, because with the increase of elderly population is expected the increase of the number of people with dementia. Estimate of this work confirms this hypothesis. The attention to this issue is very small in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic there lacks professional assessment based on local conditions, which could be followed by research comparable with foreign studies. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Racial problems in Cuba and the USA during 60s in the 20th century
Brychtová, Michala ; Křížová, Markéta (referee) ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor)
This masters thesis discourse analyzes the racial problems in Cuba and the USA during the 1960s. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze racial problems in Cuba and the USA during the 1960s while referencing the historical background of both countries and then comparing these results in order to find their appropriate influences. At the beginning of the 1960s, Fidel Castro claimed that racism was a nonissue in Cuba's society while in the USA there were still segregation laws discriminating against African Americans. President John F. Kennedy had to solve the racial problem while there was a new Soviet threat on the international field. Cuban authorities soon realized that African Americans could be a valuable ally and that racism was a formidable political weapon to combat the negative campaign waged by the U.S. press against the revolutionary government. Historical analysis is done differently in Cuba than in the USA with regard to the abolishment of slavery when negroes found their own liberty and assimilated into the mainstream population. For further understanding this master thesis discusses this separately in four chapters. I applied casual historical methods normally used by historians in their writing as historiography analysis and logical-historical methods.

Linhartová, Monika ; Picková, Dana (advisor) ; Suchánek, Drahomír (referee)
The main topic of the thesis Russian participation at Florence Council and relusal ol tlte CllUrclt Union is negotiation during the Ferrara-Florence Council in 1438-1439 with main focus on impacts of its resolutions on orthodox (eastem) church. I focused above aH on participation of Russian delegation, led by the Kiev and Russian metropolitan Isidor. I tried to explain reasons leading Grand Prince Vasilij II to refuse the church union and to describe aH consequences for Russia that foHowed his refusal. I was looking for the answer whether at aH and if yes to what extent the negative position of Russian ruler influenced further development of Russia. The aim of the thesis was also to find out how the official policy of Vasilij II towards church was perceived by local representatives of Moscow princedom. I was interested in whether they had different positions to ruler's one. I would like to extent this study to most of the orthodox population but it was not possible due to lack of information in available Russian sources.

Non-Catholics in the domaine of Trebic in the 17th and 18th century
Honč, Petr ; Petráček, Tomáš (referee) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor)
This research is primarily focused on the non-Catholic population in the domain of Trebic in the 17th and 18th century. A brief summary of the previous religious development in the above mentioned domain during the Reformation period and Thirty Years' War enables us to prove, that falling apart of the confessional identity had already been registered before the beginning of systematic recatholisation. Until then, the domain of Trebic had been a favourite refuge for the refugees from Bohemia. The description of the process of recatholisation in the town of Třebíč and villages of its domain is one of the key topics of this research. Another focus of this work is to demonstrate the contribution of the parish network in the frame of the Třebic's deanship, which was a key success factor for the recatholisation process. A second main topic, and a core issue of this work, is the situation in the domain after the October 1781, when Joseph II. put into effect the Edict of Tolerance. The emphasis is put on the adhesion of non-Catholics to one of the Protestant confessions tolerated by the State and on the challenges emerged as a follow-up. A rupture between Protestants regarding the choice between the Augsburg and Helvetic Confession almost ended hopes for their own congregation.

Integration of migrants. Case of French in Czech Republic
Klusák, Miroslav ; Suša, Oleg (advisor) ; Duffková, Jana (referee)
This master thesis focuses on integration of highly skilled professionals from Western Europe to East Central Europe. The analysis develops on case study of French managers and their families as temporary labour migrants settled in Prague. The phenomenon of migration of highly qualified work force from the West to the East of Europe becomes more frequent, and thus attracts more and more the interest of researchers. These West European managers, "nomadic elite", come often with their families for five years in average, after which they return to the country of their origin, or move to another destination. The qualitative analysis of interviews discloses that, during their stay in Czech Republic, they do integrate in to the life of society by a specific manner. On one hand, they do enter in contact with local majority society, establish some relationships, but at the same time they do create French community with strong links to France. They do accept very few cultural habits of majority population. Only in the sphere of language and alimentary culture it means that they do not identify with local cultural customs. Such form of integration is facilitated by simple proximity of French and Czech cultures in the context of integrating European Union.

Issues of personality of an offender in criminology
Bartůňková, Eva ; Fenyk, Jaroslav (referee) ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor)
The questions of personality of offender in Criminology Summary In my graduation thesis I have tried to outline the most important points of view of the theory of the personality of the offender in Criminology. I have tried to mention some of the events relating to this subject as well. Doubtless it is difficult to contribute significantly to enrichment of the theory of the personality of the offender or to broadly accepted characteristics of this topic which plays very important role in the causation and prevention of the criminality. It is virtually almost impossible to provide a comprehensive summary of the criminological conceptions and theories relating to the personality of the offender and this attempt would considerably surpass the framework of this graduation thesis. In my thesis I am focused on a brief summary and well-arranged schema of existing knowledge about personality of offender. Because of huge amount of different doctrines and opinions I have paid interest to, from my point of view, the most important and interesting authors, doctrines and subjects. For approximately the second half of the thesis is focused on criminality of women and the recidivism of criminality. With regard to the fact that world-wide more than 90% of in-prison population consists of men it is nothing to surprise that...
