Europeanization of Italian Politics. Case Study: Italian Regional Policy For South

This contribution presents a reflection on the Europeanization of Italian regional policy for Mezzogiorno, that is, on the domestic impact of EU regional policy on policies and strategies of Italian state in the process of transition. The process of Europeanization of Italian regional policy in 1990s can be interpreted as a paradigmatic change, marked by three stages. "Europeanization" is meant here as concerning the mechanisms and dynamics of national response to supranational policy inputs, with a specific attention to factors of resistance and change in Southern Italian institutions and policies. Práce má za cíl popsat elektronické informační zdroje informačního oddělení Ústavu mezinárodních vztahů v Praze a navrhnout pro ně skupinu dalších využitelných elektronických zdrojů. První část práce identifikuje informační potřeby uživatelů prostřednictvím popisu oboru mezinárodních vztahů a činnosti ústavu. Druhá část práce prezentuje jednotlivé zdroje, jež má oddělení v současnosti k dispozici, s ohledem na jejich podstatné vlastnosti a jejich hlavní přínos pro uživatele služeb oddělení. Poslední část zpracovává obdobným způsobem elektronické zdroje volně dostupné v prostředí internetu, navržené jako doplněk stávajících zdrojů.

Central bank - advantages and risks of its independence

This work is about central bank independence and about advantages and risks resulted from this position. The beginnig of the work is about history of central banking in the world and in our republic. The next capture is dedicated to the question of necessity of central banks and it uses especially the work of F.A.Hayek. It also describes his suggestion to implement the competition between private issuers of money. The last and the largest chapter is about central bank independence. After the definition of independence, there is a part concerned types of independence, mainly the legal and the actual one. The level of independence can be usually measured by few indexes. The way how to calculate them is also in the text of this work. Final part of the work is aimed on advantages and risks resulting from the independent status of central bank. The main advantage is represented by elimination of time inconsistency problem, on the other hand the main risk is the absence of responsibility of central bank for her policy.

The system for appraising and selecting grant projects under the European Social Fund 2007-2013 in the Czech Republic: A Comparative Study

Systems for implementing the Structural Funds have always been crucial to the impact of the Cohesion policy. At the heart of all programs of the Structural Funds are the systems for apprising and selecting projects, determining the efficiency and effectiveness of the program implementation. The aim of this paper is to examine the implementation of the Structural Funds in the 2007-2013 period in the Czech Republic in terms of effective resource allocation through grant projects. The examination focuses on the responsibilities and methods in the project appraisal and selection used under the Operational Program Education for Competitiveness and compares them to similar procedures applied by the European Commission in management of the community Life Long Learning Program in the current financial period. Based on discussion of the respective systems, the paper highlights the main differences between the systems and proposes for consideration several changes to the project selection under the Operational Program Education for Competitiveness to increase its effectiveness and transparency of the system.

Financial Stimuli Affecting Impartiality, Efficiency and Responsibility of a Patient in various regimes of Health Insurance on Health Care Market of the OECD Countries

This thesis contains a characteristic of ways, rules and resources of health care financing in various health care systems and their influence on impartiality, responsibility and efficiency. You can find an analysis of sources and expenditures on health in individual OECD countries - their structure, quality and development trend in this thesis too. The goal of the thesis is to approach the questions of responsibility of a patient, impartiality of health care system and its efficiency through financial stimuli.

Corporate social responsibility and its role in commercial communications

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility. It is illustrated on the concrete example of company Vodafone Czech Republic a.s. The thesis begins with the presents the concept, its forms and advantages. Following chapters include the situation in the Czech Republic and in other world countries, including the European Union. At the end there is a chapter about the future trends in the corporate responsibility.

Corporate Foundations in the Context of Corporate Social Responsibility

The thesis deals with Corporate Social Responsibility with an emphasis on corporate foundations. The first, theoretical part of the thesis defines Corporate Social Responsibility, discusses its history and also describes the implementation of the concept in the Czech Republic. The second part of the thesis deals with the legal definition of foundations and the history of foundations in general. A relatively new category of foundations are corporate foundations, which are analysed with the help of comparative analysis. Finally, the last part of the thesis presents case studies of five specific foundations.

International double taxation of individuals

The aim of this thesis on the topic of the International double taxation of individuals is to offer particular point of view on this issue to the reader and make him acquainted with some current problems related to international taxation of income. The first chapter is focused on czech income tax, especially on taxation of individuals with its goal to define basic terms. Next chapter is concentrated on term double taxation and describes main reasons for its existence. Concurrently are described unilateral and international measures to eliminate double taxation of income and also methods for elimination of double taxation. Afterwards this thesis attends to bilateral international tax conventions and its evolution and interpretation. Considering the fact that majority of all concluded tax conventions are inspired by OECD model tax convention, the third chapter of this thesis is focused on the importance of the OECD model and its commentary for interpretation and application of bilateral international tax conventions. The last and main part of this thesis analyses several sorts of income in the same manner as they are categorized in OECD model tax convention. Comparison Regional Economic Level for the Propouse of Questionaire Research in Programm Grundtvig - Project MEEC (Multicultural Education for European Citizenship)

The thesis consists in the basic comparison of several socioeconomic indicators predicating about the level of picked European regions which were engaged in the project Multicultural Education for European Citizenship (MEEC) and in which the questionnaire survey ``Questionnaire survey on perception of European citizenship in project countries{\crqq} was realized. The first aim of the thesis was to work up the working papers (by the method of selected regional economic comparison) which might be used for the formulation and verification of hypotheses on this topic: whether the picked regional economical factors, which certainly influence life in regions, could also have an impact on the respondents{\crq} value spectrum of responses in regions involved. The second aim was to work up the thesis methodically and contently together in order that the socioeconomic comparison of regions could be usable in pedagogy as one of the instigations in Education for European citizenship. The thesis is based on the usage of wide spectrum of extensive information resources, which comprise literature concerning the methodology of comparison or regional science, monographs, statistical resources (yearbooks, reports, analyses) and observed regions {--} most of the resources are available in the electronic form. Own reports on this topic, previously published in a collective volume and a subject publication (collective volume, subject publication), and materials from own lectures with presentations, realized during the project MEEC, are also used in the thesis.

The impact of regulation on the protection of financial intermediary clients

Financial intermediation due to misselling harms consumers. The work concerns to regulation of financial intermediaries and relation between financial intermediary and his or her client. The main objective is to analyze how the regulatory of commissions impact financial intermediation. The paper analyzes the current form of legal status of financial intermediation in the European Union and the Czech Republic and results in analyzing the impacts of regulatory proposals that was discussed in Chamber of Deputies Parliament of the Czech Republic. It concludes that if the proposals were accepted, it will not improve the quality of consumer protection, but even can cause damage to the client. The current legislative base moreover provides sufficient resources to prosecuting financial intermediation, which does not respect the client's interest. For analyzing the relation between financial intermediary and his or her client is developed theoretical model based on theory of games.
