Design and implementation of tasks in the physical practice of mechanics and thermodynamics
KADLECOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis was created to design instruction papers for the physical experiments, which will be used in the Physical practice of mechanics and thermodynamics in the new premises of the Faculty of Science of the University of the South Bohemia. The work not only documents the theoretical background and approach to measurement, but also describes how these individual experiment sets were prepared and what the problems (and solutions) for each task were.
Accurate positioning of pneumatic drives
Volf, Marek ; Nevrlý, Josef (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
Thesis starts with brief overview of the present role of pneumatic actuators. Further research is carried out in modelling and control of pneumatic actuators. A basic overview of thermodynamic laws is presented. These laws are used to assemble a mathematical model of the pneumatic drive. Subsequently the identification of model parameters is shown. A controller is propřed using fuzzy PID algorithms. Results are compared with the conventional PID controller.
Application of refrigerant cooling for air conditioning of buildings
Vlček, Petr ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the problem of refrigerant cooling needs for air conditioning systems of buildings. Summary focuses on the theoretical basics and the physical nature of refrigeration and air conditioning technology. The consequences of split unite on microclimate in the room was experimentally tested and simultaneously investigated happenings associated to its activity. The aim is to unify the theoretical and experimentally obtained facts and apply them in the designing of air conditioning units. Design of air conditioning systems builds on my bachelor thesis, "Hot-air heating of gym", which subject was the ventilation system of gym.
Determination of Blood Pressure
Plch, Miroslav ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
The thesis includes a general introduction to monitoring and measurement of blood pressure of horses, the design of algorithms for pressure curve detection and the calculation of respiratory variabilities in mechanical ventilation under anaesthesia. The first two chapters focus on anatomy, on characteristics of blood flow and on vascular system. Then it deals with the measurement of blood pressure, monitoring of a horse under anaesthesia and it describes particular thermodynamic parameters. In the following part of the thesis, the methods of pressure curve detection are described. The last part contains the description of an algorithm designed for detection of pressure curve of horses in the environment of the program LabVIEW. The program calculates, displays and saves variabilities of systolic pressure, pulse volume, pressure amplitude, pulse frequency, peripheral resistance and vascular expansion from the detected values.
Thermodynamics of ideal gases in Matlab
Zábojník, Jakub ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In terms of bachelor’s thesis a toolbox of functions for basic computing in thermodynamics with ideal gases and their mixtures was built in environment of computer program MATLAB. Source code of these functions and their description are parts of this thesis. Among others fundamental characteristics of thermodynamic values and terms on which the creation of functions was built, and instruction for calling of functions are mentioned here. Functions in toolbox imaginary are divided to some groups. This dividing is results from principle of thermodynamic calculation. Functions from two neighbouring groups are directly tied together. For lucidity of function sequences and for functions usage and toolbox explanation the examples of using functions examples of functions usage in specific thermodynamic calculations.
Thermodynamics of Phase Transformations - Equilibrium and Enthalpic Diagrams for System Fe - C
Štěpánek, Roman ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the basic information about equilibrum of the systems, thermodynamics of the phase transformations, the equilibrum and enthalpic diagrams and their mutual connections. It also deals with construction of the enthalpic diagrams of the system Fe-C using equilibrum diagrams of this system. The information is given as easily understandable form.
Thermodynamic Interferences of HCl and HF in Producer Gas Desulfurization by Ce, La, Mn and Zn Based Solid Sorbents
Hartman, Miloslav ; Svoboda, Karel ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Šyc, Michal ; Jeremiáš, Michal ; Huang, Ch.-Y.
In our thermodynamic theoretical study we concentrated our attention on thermodynamics of gas-solid desulfurization reactions (H2S, COS, thiophene), properties of sorbents (melting point evaporation), attainable equilibrium sulfur compounds concentrations in gas at temperature 500 – 1100 K (227-827 oC) under conditions typical for producer gas composition. Similarly removal of HCl and HF by Ce, La, Zn, Mn and Ni oxides based sorbents is described and possible interferences in simultaneous sorption of HCl or HF with H2S are analyzed. Suitable conditions and sorbents are suggested for deep removal of sulfur compounds in presence of HCl. Conditions for efficient preliminary removal of HCl and HF by alkali-based sorbents (NaHCO3, K2CO3, Ca(OH)2, CaCO3) are suggested and possible interferences caused by H2S are analyzed in terms of attainable equilibrium concentrations of HCl and HF in presence of H2S. Properties of La and Ce-based sorbents for sulfur compounds are compared with Zn, Mn and Ni based sorbents in terms of efficiency and interferences caused by presence of hydrogen-halides (HCl, HF).

Mathematical apparatus of thermodynamics
TESAŘOVÁ, Jaroslava
This Thesis deals with the use of the mathematical apparatus in thermodynamics, specifically the use of Calculus of functions of several variables. The main emphasis is placed on creating a mathematical derivation of the theoretical foundations of thermodynamics, for example Maxwell relations. The following thing explains the linear differential forms with the help of them the laws of thermodynamics are defined. In the Thesis there are examples with solution to illustrate mathematical procedures. To understand this Thesis the knowledge of Calculus is required.

Pavlů, Jana
On the basis of ab initio electronic structure calculations, we provided a thermodynamic study of C14 and C15 Laves phases in Cr-Zr system.
Si-obsahující Lavesovy fáze
Houserová, Jana
We performed electronic structure calculations to study the thermodynamic and structural properties of the C14 Laves phases in several systems with various compositions. In the frame of a thermodynamic study, we have evaluated the total energies of formation of Laves phase structure with different occupations of sublattices (Si2Si, Si2X, X2Si, X2X, where X stands for Cr, Fe, Mo and W) with respect to the Standard Element Reference (SER) states.
