Data mining from incoming e-mail messages

In the present work we study possibilities of automatic sorting of incoming email communication. Our primary goal is to distinguish information about oncoming workshops and conferences, job off ers and published books. We are trying to develop tool to mine the information from data from professional mailing lists. Off ers in the mailing lists come in html, rtf or plain text format, but the information in it is written in common spoken language. We are developing the system so it will use text mining methods to extract the information and save it structured form. Than we will be able to work with it. We are examining the handling of the mails by user and apply the knowledge in the development. We solve the problems with obtaining of the messages, distinguishing language and encoding and estimating the type of message. After recognition of the bearing information we are able to mine data. In the end we save the mined information to the database, which allows us to display it in well{arranged way, sort and search according to the user needs.

Theatre of the Oppressed

My diploma theses focuses on using the techniques of the Theatre of the Oppressed at the first garde of elementary school. I believe that this method can be used also with the children of the first grade, namely with children studding their fourth and fifth year. The theoretical part of this work focuses on the Theatre of the Oppressed, to be more precise - The Forum Theatre. The main source is a book written by the founder of the Forum Theatre Augusto Boal. The practical part describes the experiences I had with practising the Forum Theatre with children in the first grade of elementary school. The main objective of this work was to answer the question whether it is possible for the first grade children to understand and perform the Forum Theatre. After having the experience with practising the Forum Theatre with children I must note, that children are capable of doing it and above all it is very good mean for them to explain their feelings , emotions and opinions and find the right solutions for different types of problems. I believe, that it is very much worth to focus closer on this type of theatre with children, because it helps them to deal with their everyday problems.

Werenwolves in European culture context

We have met a motif of the werewolf in the course of the whole European cultural history. Already ancient authors - poets, historians and doctors, as well, devoted themselves to study of this phenomenon. In particular, a zone of Arcadia and its mythical king Lykaon were the most emblazoned with werewolf myths. German ulfhednars and quantity of Slavic superstitions show that belief in werewolves was widespread among the other European nations. Even in Middle Ages werewolves did not fall into oblivion, and there dealt with them not only religious literature, but also belles lettres - of which poem Bisclaveret of Maria de France is probably the most famous. Actual expansion and intensification of belief in werewolves occurred in the early modern age, owing to that many paid life. Werewolfness was particularly in France a widespread crime. Work of religious and other authors on whether and how the metamorphosis of humans in the animal is possible, we can see up to the late modern times. A different view, however, remained doctors, who since antiquity claimed that lykantropia is a kind of melancholy, and therefore a mental illness. Tha influence of iceberg melting on economic situation of Greenland

The aim of this piece is to estimate the future progress of the economic situation of Greenland on the basis of available dates. To show whether the initiation of mining enables to separate Greenland from Denmark, which Greenland has urged for a long time to and which has not been available because of financial reasons. Thanks to comparison to progress of Norway, which depended very much on fishing before oil extraction (as well as Greenland today) we can see the importance of mining in Greenland. Besides mining, iceberg melting has a great influence on accessibility of this island (new naval routes etc.). The point of this piece is to show that climate changes and iceberg melting are not so negative and a threat for all areas of the world. It could also mean important economic assets for particular areas.

The space of the city: Turnov at the time and the space

The subject matter of the thesis is defined as a cultural analysis of urban planning in a specific, lesser-size town - the town of Turnov. In its first part, the text focuses on the historical circumstances of the town2s origins. It concentrates on the most important periods from the point of view of the present day layout of the town2s centre: the early Middle Ages - a period of town building; the late Renaissance period and the emerging Baroque era; the 19th century; and finally, the text recapitulates 20th century developments. The text analyses the natural and geographic conditions at a location where a new town was being formed; it follows the specific process of settlement centralization, transformation in building technologies and onset of masonry buildings, the impact of repeated disastrous fires on the town square2s appearance, not leaving out the social and political context. We briefly introduce the present day layout of the town2s centre. The following section continues on with a specific demonstration of a clearly defined - and throughout time, a remarkably stable - three-dimensional spatial structure of the town2s centre. The spa in Třeboňsko region

Title: The spa in the Třeboňsko region Aim of the work: The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate the spa services in the Třeboňsko region and to help with the investigation questionnaire to :find out clienťs satisfaction with spa services. More then, the purpose of this thesis is to find choises of improvement on the base sof actual situation. Methodology: The description analysis which describe actual Třeboň spa situation was used in this work. Another method for getting information about clienťs satisfaction with spa services was questionnaire investigation. The SWOT analysis ofthe Třeboňsko region and Třeboň spa was created, too. Results: The results indicate firstly, how much satisfied and developed the actual situation ofthe travel movement, and especially in the Třeboňsko spa is, secondly, where the reserves are and finally, where on the contrary the strenghts are. Contributions to the study of the early modern period iconography of book covers

ln this thesis I explore 16th century book covers. The cover protects and decorates the book and is therefore treated in the following text as an inseparable part of the book. Since book covers have rarely been studied in the past, I have included below a section (Chapter 1) on existing literature - both Czech and foreign - on the topic. Thanks to Gutenberg's invention of a new kind of printing press, and thanks to new fonts, easier typography and unprecedented development of xylographic illustration (especially in Germany), the book changed beyond recognition in the second half of the 15th century and at the beginning of the 16th century. In addition to these profound changes, or - rather - as a result of these changes, the book became cheaper and began to spread among all social classes (Chapter 2). Moreover, it is by no means surprising that all these developments were to have a seminal influence on the book cover (Chapter 3), which became simplified and Iighter in comparison with what it had been in the Middle Ages. Encyclical letter "Mit brennender Sorge" and its historical background

Resumé Terezie Radoměřská Encyklika "Mit brennender Sorge" a její historické pozadí Bakalářská práce, 2006 Práce "Encyklika "Mit brennender Sorge" a její historické pozadí" se věnuje tématu vztahů mezi Vatikánem a Německou říší v době mezi uzavřením konkordátu (1933) a vydáním encykliky Pia XI., "Mit brennender Sorge" (1937). Přibližuje společensko - politickou situaci katolické církve v Německé říši, která dala vzniknout vatikánsko-německé smlouvě - Říšskému konkordátu. Období konce tzv. Výmarské republiky se vyznačovalo sílícím odporem proti politickému katolicismu prezentovanému zejména klerikalizovanou stranou Centrum. Tato politická strana konzervativního středu postupně ztrácela na svém významu a několik dní před podpisem říšského konkordátu se sama rozpustila. Nacisté, kteří se chopili moci v r. 1933 se snažili postupně ovládnout všechny vrstvy společnosti, mezi nimi i církve. Evangelická církev byla rozdělena podporou nacionalisticky orientovaných Deutsche Christen, naopak proti nacistické ideologii se stavěla Bekennende Kirche. Nacisté také podporovali nová náboženská hnutí, která korespondovala s rasistickým základem jejich ideologie. Mezi ně je třeba počítat Deutsche Galubensbewegnung a "Mythus der 20. Keith Lowe, "The Savage Continent": Translation with Commentary

The thesis consists of two parts: translation of a half of Savage Continent, a book by British historian Keith Lowe, with key topics including the universal destruction of Europe caused by the Second World War and the subsequent wave of vengeance that swept across Europe in its aftermath; and a commentary on the translation, beginning with an introduction of the author and his style, subsequently providing extensive overview of the development of the Czech discourse about the expulsion of Germans, translation analysis of the original English text of a chapter concerning the expulsion of Germans and its position in the discourse, as well as a look t the target reader and reception, and finally describing various translation problems that occurred while translating this chapter, including not only linguistic, but also poetic-ideological problems.

Transferové ceny - problém nebo výzva?

Cílem této studie bylo především ověřit či naopak vyvrátit v úvodu stanovenou hypotézu, že nekvalifikovaný odhad způsobu stanovení transferových cen a tedy nevhodná úprava daňového základu plátce ze strany české daňové správy přináší České republice vysoké riziko mezinárodních arbitráží, které představují nejen značnou finanční zátěž, ale také nadbytečnou práci pro ministerské úředníky. Sledovali jsme situaci v oblasti platné legislativy v této oblasti, zahraniční praxe a standardů a především pak dosavadních kontrol zaměřených na transferové ceny. Ze získaných poznatků však vyplývá, že stávající přístup české daňové správy k této problematice nahrává spíše opačné domněnce; nedostatečná kontrola ze strany finančních orgánů a tudíž i absence mezinárodních sporů v této oblasti vede k jisté laxnosti poplatníků a zprostředkovaně tak může nahrávat daňovým únikům v důsledku uměle podhodnocených zdanitelných zisků?
