The arrival of new spirituality, Hinduism and spiritual Masters in the Czech Republic
Nykodýmová, Iveta ; Štampach, Ivan (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Zdeněk (referee)
This text refers to the Indian religious beliefs, Hinduism in particular, that we can meet in the Czech Republic. Many people are interested in these religions and my question is 'what makes present man so interested in these religions and what is so attractive to them?' Foremost in my text there is basic information about Hinduism, including the myths, Gods and Goddesses and creeds. As the Indian culture is very diverse and rich I have only mentioned basic information for understanding the text well. Then I have described yoga in the text, Bhaktiyoga in particular. This type of yoga forms part of the Hare Khrisna movement. Both Yoga in Daily Life and the Hare Khrisna have already worked for many years and both have continuity with their Indian founders and came into our subconscious through their spiritual pursuit. I have described their influence in the Czech Republic on the basis of my questionnaire and even on my personal experience. Apart from these two movements this text refers to individual persons who are active in this kind of lifestyle. My conclusion is that these religious trends do not signify any danger or threat for our society; on the contrary it means that by helping us to find our way to God this enriches our daily lives. Contribution to the study of the origin and development of the welfare state in Great Britain between 1945 and 1990
Duroňová, Tereza ; Kovář, Martin (advisor) ; Jeřábková, Zdenka (referee)
The main purpose of the work is to analyze the most important aspects of post war development in Great Britain. My attention will be focused primarily on measures taken by the Labour government, which for the first time in history came to power. In second part I will describe the building of the welfare state from the World War II until the end of 80's of the 20th century, when Margaret Thatcher was elected to be the prime minister. In the third part of the work I will analyze her impact on the economic conversion of Great Britain from Keynesianism to Monetarist doctrine of free market forces and responsibility of each individual for his / her fate. The government of Margaret Thatcher has set a new direction, which becomes the inspiration for many other politicians around the world. In the end of the work, I will describe the circumstances which led to the resignation of the first female prime minister in the history of Great Britain.

The occurrence of the HW element in Welsh English
Kolísková, Barbora ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Šturm, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the accent realizations of the initial consonant in wh- words in Welsh English. The theoretical background of this study deals with the development of Welsh language and its interactions with the British standard variety. Together with the previously mentioned the phonological inventories of Welsh, RP, and Welsh English are described in the first part. We further analyzed the development of the <hw> element in the British Isles in general. The research part of this study is concerned with the analysis of the data from 20 speakers of Welsh English. Three speech styles were used for the final analysis: spontaneous speech (informal style), isolated words (formal style) and reading of Cinderella (formal style). Signal-to-noise ratio and voicing of the <hw> segments were measured in order to discover the occurrence and the nature of the <hw> element. The lowest levels of harmonicity were measured in segments that were obtained from the formal reading style. The highest levels were measures in the spontaneous speech tokens. Younger speakers showed higher levels of harmonicity than older speakers. The results of the male and the female participants were different in each type. In the spontaneous speech style the male speakers tended to have lower levels of...

Liability of members of the board of directors and supervisory board from a comparative perspective
Dubanská, Barbora ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor) ; Boháček, Martin (referee) ; Josková, Lucie (referee)
"… being a director is a privilege be earned every day…" This quote was taken from a decision rendered by the Australian court in the case of ASIC v Rich, where a substantial pecuniary fine and other sanctions were imposed upon a board member, John David Rich, for breaches of his duties towards the company. The present-day directors of companies hold the positions of modern monarchs; their powers would remain unlimited if not for the current regulations in place. Members of the board of directors and supervisory boards are bound by many duties towards their company as well as other parties. They are not only liable for breaches of their own duties; however, under certain circumstances, they also guarantee for the obligations of the company. Nevertheless, the number of cases involving the enforcement of their duties is, in general, surprisingly very low. a) Objective The primary objective of this thesis is to examine the duties and liabilities of directors and members of the supervisory board on the basis of theoretical concepts and compare them with international law. Whereupon appropriate solutions in respect of Czech legislation will be proposed on the basis of such comparative analysis. b) Applied Methods Comparative analysis was the primary technique applied when constructing this thesis; more...

Separable reductions and rich families in theory of Fréchet subdifferentials
Fabian, Marián
We consider important properties of Fréchet subdifferentials, in particular: the non-emptiness of subdifferentials, the non-zeroness of normal cones, the fuzzy calculus, and the extremal principle; all statements being considered in Fréchet sense. Given a nonseparable Banach space X, we show how the validity of these statements is implied by the validity of them in every separable subspace of X. Such a reasoning is called “separable reduction”. We show that, behind this approach, there is a modern and powerful concept of rich subfamily of the family of all separable subspaces of X.

Doula´s influence with a smooth course of childbirth and with a job of the midwife and of the child´s nurse
BELEŠOVÁ, Romana
Child delivery, as well as death, is a universal experience. It may be the most powerful creative experience, a fraction in the stream of human existence. It may be a celebration of joy and perceived as beautiful and sublime. Child delivery is considered a natural phenomenon leaving deep impression in our minds. Nowadays there is a tendency to the so called natural ways of deliveries. The current trend in maternity hospitals is humanization of obstetrics and delivery in itself. This means that the best way how to spend the period of pregnancy is a good preparation for pregnancy and delivery and the new role of a mother and a father. It is important for the parents to have an active approach to pregnancy from the very beginning, getting information and learning practical skills to the child delivery. It is almost obvious that at the most meaningful event as a child delivery is the father or another close person is present. Besides the closest persons it is a doula who sometimes accompanies the mother. This term denotes a care provider (a guide through the delivery, a companion, an assistant at the delivery) {--} a woman who has basic training on the birth management and knows various nursing procedures. A doula provides emotional support, physical assistance, explains the course of delivery and represents a reliance of ``a friendly presence{\crq}q. To carry out the practical part of the thesis the method of quantitative research was used. The data to confirm or to reject the stated hypotheses were gained through questionnaires distributed from January to March 2009. One type was aimed at mothers and the other was made up for midwives and paediatric nurses. The research set was formed by 110 (100%) female respondents. 42 (38%) of them were mothers form the South Bohemian region, 34 (31%) midwives and 34 (31%) paediatric nurses working in the South Bohemian hospitals, antenatal clinics and paediatric clinics. The research set did not include a large number of respondents since there is not much awareness of the doula issue in public. As each group of female respondents was evaluated separately, the total number of them in each group was considered to be 100%. The objective of the thesis was to find out if mothers are interested in influencing the delivery by a doula, how midwives and paediatric nurses are informed about a doula job description and if the presence of a doula at the delivery is beneficial for the work of midwives and paediatric nurses. All the objectives were accomplished. The first hypothesis assuming the positive evaluation of a doula attendance at the delivery by mothers was confirmed. The second hypothesis, which assumed on the basis of experience gained by practice that midwives are better informed about a doula job responsibility at the delivery, was confirmed. The third hypothesis, which assumed that midwives perceive the presence of a doula at the delivery more positively than paediatric nurses, was also confirmed. The outcomes of the thesis will be beneficial both for mothers pondering over a doula presence at the delivery and for midwives and paediatric nurses who meet doulas accompanying mothers in hospitals and antenatal clinics.

The prospects of the Doha round: Asia’s attitude towards negotiations
Balúnová, Slávka ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Cihelková, Eva (referee)
India, China and Indonesia are among the six largest and fastest growing economies in the world (BRIICS). Rich countries are still reluctant to accept the fact that developing countries are becoming stronger and that the balance of economic power is shifting. The international community therefore seeks to find the way how to deal with this situation and the answer is to involve developing countries in the international trade. The main objective of the WTO is to involve developing countries in world trade and to create better conditions for them. Therefore, in 2001, the Doha Development Agenda has commenced and its aim is to achieve the goals of the WTO. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the success of the Doha round and its prospects with the focus on the attitudes and interests of the major Asian economies, namely China, India and Indonesia.

The electroencephalographic changes in animal serotonergic model of psychosis-the study of EEG connectivity in relation to behavior
Tylš, Filip ; Páleníček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Mareš, Pavel (referee) ; Chvátal, Alexandr (referee)
The present thesis deals with the electrophysiological and behavioral correlates of the effects of serotonergic psychedelics in an animal model of psychosis. In the general part, we describe the phenomenology and neurobiology of psychotic diseases and the altered states of consciousness induced by serotonergic psychedelics. Furthermore, we outline the pharmacological models of acute psychosis with a focus on serotonergic substances, particularly the active substances from hallucinogenic mushroom - the indolamine psilocybin and its active metabolite psilocin. We briefly explain the method of quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) and summarize the main findings of QEEG in animals and humans intoxicated by serotonergic psychedelics. The experimental part of the thesis describes the pharmacokinetics of psilocin, its effects on the behavioral pattern, locomotion and sensorimotor processing of information, as well as sex differences in the behavioral response. A medium dose of psilocin caused atypical behavioral figures, decreased locomotion and disturbance in sensorimotor processing of information, with the females being more resistant to this effect. Another focus of the thesis is the dynamics of QEEG changes in time (EEG absolute power spectra and EEG coherences), as recorded from the cortex of...
