Kameníčková, Ivana ; Hofmannová, Mahulena (advisor) ; Hýbnerová, Stanislava (referee)
CV The situation in Tibet, with the intention of human rights problems and the right of self- determination of nations- Summary I rate the Tibet issue as very interesting and actual. If we think about the ruling situation closely, we found out big amount of break of domestic and also international law. This topic was chosen to remind a serious mischief, that is install in Tibet already 60 years and to point out the indifference of international community and the inconsistency of enforcement of international law. It is very difficult to acquire impartial information about the situation in Tibet. I stem from accessible publications trying to keep an objective stance. With regard that China offers just very few statements about the situation in Tibet, which does not further mostly respond to the facts presented by Tibet's side, my work is largely based on the particulars coming from experiences of Tibet exile or published by Tibet exile government. China takes pains to manipulate public meaning, enforces censorship and bars access of neutral international media. An important resource of my work became reports of International Commission of Jurists from 1959, 1960 and 1993, than OSN resolutions and reports published by non- governmental organisations as Amnesty International for example. It was necessary to...

Kadlec, David ; Zoulík, František (referee) ; Smolík, Petr (advisor)
Raising claims in insolvency proceedings Quality insolvency law of economic entities is in addition to civil and commercial law one of the pillars of a developed market economy. In case the insolvency law allows relatively simple application of claims and is a guarantee of the recovery of substantial amount, it can positively influence business environment as well as enhance legal certainty of legal relations. In this area, Czech Republic with its previous legislation represented by Act No. 328/1991 Coll., on Bankruptcy and Settlement despite its numerous amendments, lagged behind its neighboring countries like Slovak Republic e.g., where this rule has been replaced by Act No. 7 / 2005 Coll., on Bankruptcy and Restructuring already since July 1st 2005. Important change came with the Act No. 182/2006 Coll., on Insolvency and Methods of its Solution, which is a complex recodification effective from January 1st 2008. Besides the overall modernization its primary aim was to relieve the shortcomings of prior legal form that have been visible mainly in very weak position of creditors in the proceedings, its slowness and low level of satisfaction of creditors' claims. The effectiveness of the new rules and their targets have been largely achieved after almost two years. The influence of creditors asserting their...

Quality of life and life satisfaction of people living with HIV/AIDS in the Czech Republic
Urbánková, Olga ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee) ; Procházka, Ivo (referee)
This study explores aspects of quality of life (QoL) and how QoL is influenced by HIV/AIDS. Two years ago, in 2006, HIV/AIDS celebrated its 25th anniversary since it was discovered. Of these 25 years, the last ten years were dedicated to research on QoL. The rationale is that even though the emergence of antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has prolonged HIV positive people's lives, this alone is not sufficient to make one's life good. Consequently, it has become necessary to pay attention to the quality of this extended life. There has been, so far, only one research dedicated to QoL among HIV positive people in the Czech Republic. According to UNAIDS, about forty million people are infected with HIV globally. By the end of February 2008, the Czech Republic had 1081 reported cases; yet very little has been done in the area of research on QoL among Czechs who are HIV positive. One study done by Potribná in 2002, on QoL (mainly Health) after starting HAART, uncovered a strong need for research on the QoL among people living with HIV in the Czech Republic.

HANZLÍČKOVÁ, Markéta
The territorial protection of historical monuments has been ensured by law since the fifties and the preservation of landscape complexes is more and more emphasised. In the Czech Republic, there are 40 town heritage reserves and 61 village reserves. Cores of historic cities futher protected by 209 town heritage zones nad 164 village heritage zones. Then Conditions int the Czech Republic call for an individual aproach that might be of interes for small historic cities and villages and their micro-regions. The regional development in rural areas, especially in village heritage reserves and village heritage zones should be improved very quickly. This fact has to be reflected in the strategy of the rural areas development as well as in the local resources affordable for safeguarding of culture heritage. The strategy of social and economy development programme should be based on support and use of 2 basic items {--} a city in which the unique character must be protected for future generations and a city as a high quality place for life and work for its citizens. For taking this strategy program in life is high level of cooperation between public on one side and municiple offices and government on the other side really key and necessary. The fact is that regional development and the territorial protection of village heritage zones and reserves are quite important issues at the time and their importance will be increasing in future. It is necessary to create a database of technological procedures of heritage skills and crafts, information how to get financial support etc. and support the publishig of the saved knowledge and its distribution in all sites. This is the only way how to save our cultural treasure for future generations.
