A quantitative analysis of the series of history textbooks for elementary schools

Annotacion Rudolf Machálik: A quantitative analysis of a line of history textbooks for elementary schools, Prague 2010, 42 pages. Bachelor thesis. The intention of this thesis was to analyze the chosen history textbooks as to their content - what topics they cover, in what amount and in what order. The textbook is supposed to be interesting and gripping in order to be beneficial for the reader in the sense of being a source of new knowledge instead of being just a pile of accumulated information. In spite of the fact that these textbooks were published in 1991 they are didactically flawless - the texts are not too extensive and lots of auxiliary materials are used. I also shortly wrote about the authors. In analyzing the content of the textbooks I followed the sequence of the topics, the number of chapters and subchapters, the number of tables and charts and the way the authors used and formulated questions. The use of colors to highlight key words can be counted to their credit as it helps the reader to find an easy way through the text. I examined the high number of pictures and their character, the time lines and photographs. Modification of the arthritis difficulties in obese patiens depending on a change of the movement habits

The aim of the Bachelor Thesis is to determine how changes arthritic difficulties in obese patients following an alternation in movement patterns. The work also deals with the movement and sports activities are suitable and unsuitable for the diagnosis. The work is divided into theoretical and practical section. In the theoretical section, we summarize of knowledge of obesity and osteoarthritis. The first chapter describes the definition, prevalence, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, complications, prognosis and treatment of obesity. In the second chapter we define osteoarthritis and its progression, risk factors, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis. In the third, special chapter, we discusse the importance of physical activity in obese patients with osteoarthritis, the frequency and intensity of workload and motion activities appropriate for these patiens. We describe the principles and benefits of walking, nordic walking, swimming, aqua-aerobics, riding a bicycle and also the use of therapeutic physical education in this field. The practical part is then focused on the application of correct principles of physical activity, instruction of the patient and monitoring of modification in their arthritic difficulties. The case reports are elaborated based on the three selected patiens.

This thesis concerns Competitive intelligence, which is relatively new and unknown discipline in Czech republic, but despite this fact it is evolving very quickly. The goal of the thesis is to describe competitive intelligence, it's theoretical background, concepts, methods and tools and to apply them on chosen sector of czech economy. Chapters 1, 2 and 3 focus on theoretical background of competitive intelligence and it's place in company's structure. Chapters 3 and 4 describe some selected analytical methods and tools of CI. Finally the chapter number 6 analyses the market with logistics services in Czech republic.

Education focused on marriage and parenthood for children with mild mental retardation

Rigorous thesis processes the level of knowledges and skills of pupils with mild mental handicap in education of marriage and parenthood in Czech and Slovak Republic. The main aim was to map and specify the pupils' knowledge and skills in 8th and 9th class in the area of marriage and parenthood in Czech and Slovak Republic and to map their teachers' knowledge and attitudes in the same area of education. The another aim was to find out if the state, where pupils live, their age, gender and their family background can have the influence to their answers. We also find out, if there is any differences between teachers' answers from different states. Our thesis consists of four chapters. In first we allocated elementary characteristics of terms mental handicap, mental retardation, pupil with mild mental handicap and it's unbringing and education in Czech and Slovak republic. Mediation and its Posibilities of Use Within the Scope of Divorce Suit

This bachelor work is concentrated on mediation and possibilities of its use in divorce suit. In teoretical part I present and describe mediation, its history in the World and in Czech Republic, its principles, aim, phases, forms, suitable and unsuitable cases, requirements for mediator etc. In fourth chapter I attend to family mediation and I present it as one of the possibilities of resolution of family conflicts, I define its object, advantages, continuity with social work etc. In practical part I process casuistries of cases which are suitable for mediation, which confirm effectivity and applicable mediation to family conflicts field. Main aim of this bachelor work is to present mediation as one of the potential way of family dispute resolution in divorce suit, and also in social work with families. The role of forwarding houses in international trade

This work is focused on freight forwarding companies and their role in international trade. The aim is to clarify their activities, to outline in which case, and under which conditions it is appropriate to cooperate with a forwarding company and describe all areas where a forwarding company can help. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is focused on the forwarding agents, introduces their job, covers all disciplines, which are closely connected with activities of forwarding houses, describes the benefits of these companies, explains forwarding legislation in the Czech Republic and describes functions of forwarding associations. The second chapter is devoted to the types of freight transport and their use in the European Union. The task of the last chapter is to illustrate the work of shippers on a particular export case of the DHL company.

Dissertation Business process improvement possibilities in internet shop introduce reader with improvement possibilities in small e-shops with limited financial competence. Object of this work is determination conception process, finding suitable methods for process improvement in enterprise and on the basis of obtained information create process model chosen e-shop and usage some method for process improvement. At the beginning is reader introduced with concept e-shop and e-business. Next part is explained concept and sense of process access in companies operating in nowadays. Next part is about process improvement. First are explained concepts Business process improvement and Business process reengineering than are introduced methods suitable for process improvement. Methods are chosen from different areas, so is good to see the variety of ways that heads to process improvement. Next part is about MIPIM methodology. All steps are explained and extended with suitable methods and tools for each step. Next chapter introduces SkateMORE e-shop. Using SWAT analysis and strategic goals show us possible ways of process modification. Last chapter put deals with process improvement in practically using MIPIM methodology and chosen method mentioned in foregoing chapters. The study of selected sewer network in an urbanized catchment

This paper deals the case study of the chosen sewer system in the village Starý Mateřov. The study solves passportization of sewer, what is the base for creating technical condition mainly for three selected sections. According to the results from the technical conditions of the three selected sections were suggested suitable options of redevelopment. The options are compared in financial way. The last chapter suggests two possibilities how to deal with the sewage. The first option consists of the transferring waste water to the waste water treatment plant in Pardubice - Semtín. The second option suggests building a new waste water treatment plant in Starý Mateřov. The options are compared in financial way.

Application of linear and nonlinear volatility models for Czech open-end-funds and shares analysis

Cílem této doktorské práce je analýza chování vybraných českých otevřených podílových fondů a akcií. Podílové fondy si od druhé poloviny 90. let získávají v České republice stále větší oblibu. Do konce roku 2006 dosáhl objem investic do podílových fondů 150 miliard korun. Empirická studie se věnuje třem typům podílových fondů: akciovým, dluhopisovým a peněžním a akcie. Denní hodnoty cen byly získány z internetových stránek správců fondů a RM-systému. Sledované období začíná 1.1.2001 a končí 31.12.2005. Akcie a podílové listy mají odlišné principy formování ceny. Zatímco ceny akcií se vytváří interakcí nabídky a poptávky na akciovém trhu, u podílových listů je cena odvozena z celkové hodnoty aktiv fondu. Vliv trhu není u podílových fondů významný, protože nabídka podílo-vých listů je téměř neomezená. Navíc jsou aktiva podílového fondu tvořena řadou rozdílných investičních nástrojů jako jsou české a zahraniční akcie, dluhopisy, pokladniční poukázky, instrumenty peněžních trhů atd. Zjištění, zda časové řady fondů mají i za těchto předpokladů stejné vlastnosti jako řady akcií a zda je pro jejich modelování vhodné použít modely vytvo-řené pro akcie, burzovní indexy nebo směnné kurzy, je hlavním tématem této práce. Pozornost je věnována nepodmíněnému rozdělení výnosů logaritmů cen podílových listů. Metodou maximální věrohodnosti jsou odhadnuty parametry teoretických rozdělení a poté je testována jejich shoda s rozdělením výnosů. Další rozdělení zmiňovaná v souvislosti s nepodmíněným rozdělením finančních časových řad jsou zmíněna v teoretické části. K mo-delování podmíněné střední hodnoty je využito modelů typu AR, k modelování podmíněného rozptylu pak lineárních modelů ARCH, GARCH a GARCH-M a nelineárních modelů typu GRJ-GARCH a EGARCH. Další modely volatility jsou popsány v jedné z úvodních kapitol. Skupina nelineárních modelů je do analýzy zahrnuta za účelem hledání ?pákového efektu?. Lineární model GARCH-M popisuje přímé působení podmíněného rozptylu časové řady na její podmíněnou střední hodnotu. Vzhledem k prokázané nenormalitě rozdělení reziduí, ne-jsou splněny počáteční podmínky modelů časových řad. Vhodnější modely lze získat změnou předpokladu o rozdělení nesystematické složky na GED nebo Studentovo t rozdělení. Na zá-kladě porovnání prostřednictvím informačních kritérií a u příbuzných modelů testem věrohodnostním poměrem je pro každou časovou řadu nalezen nejvhodnější model, který slouží k popisu jejích vlastností a v praxi může být využit i k předpovědi dalšího vývoje, v analýze Value at Risk nebo k popisu vývoje rizikovosti fondu. V závěru jsou popsány zjiš-těné společné a rozdílné vlastnosti podílových fondů a akcií a doporučení pro modelování těchto časových řad.
