O problémech seřazení při řízení servisních operací
Lín, Václav ; Vomlel, Jiří (advisor) ; Jiroušek, Radim (referee) ; Kouba, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ottosen, Thorsten Jorgen (referee)
The subject of the thesis belongs to the field of operations management. We deal with sequencing problems arising when there are multiple repair operations available to fix a broken man-made system and the true cause of the system failure is uncertain. It is assumed that the system is formally described by a probabilistic model, and it is to be repaired by a sequence of troubleshooting operations designed to identify the cause of the malfunction and fix the system. The challenge is to find a course of repair which has minimal expected cost. We study several variants of the problem proposed in the literature. We analyze computational complexity of those variants, apply integer linear programming to one variant of the problem, and examine the relation to machine scheduling.

Data backup technology with a focus on backup between remote sites using the EMC Avamar deduplication backup
KINDELMANN, Ladislav
The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the way data backup of remote sites deduplication technology system used by EMC Avamar. This is a special type of data compression used not only when saving to disk arrays, but also in a virtual environment. Deduplication ensures saving storage space and reliability of data recovery. EMC Avamar system is one of the best-engineered and most extensive systems of which the above technology is used. The dissertation is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part student briefly summarize the available backup technologies and describes the remote backup methods, including examples using available software and hardware requirements. Then it specifies details of EMC Avamar and its implementation, HW requirements and functioning of the entire system. Student will analyzes the data deduplication technology, which the system uses, description of data transferring and the possible advantages and disadvantages compared to other systems. In the practical part it creates own proposal for implementation of data backup using the above mentioned system in a business environment between the two branches of the company. The aim will be to show the real technology features, advantages and shortcomings. The conclusion of the dissertation the student all accompanied overview of the use of backup systems in today's global market.

Wind resource assessment for selected sites in the territory of the Czech Republic
Hanslian, David
This set of studies analyses the wind conditions and expected wind power production at selected sites in the Czech Republic. At first, the calculation of wind conditions by VAS/WAsP 1, VAS/WAsP 2 and PIAP models is performed. Based on the comparison and analysis of model results, the generalized wind climate pertaining to the assessed site is estimated. The final results are calculated by WAsP model using this generalized wind climate. The expected wind power production of proposed wind turbine or wind farm is calculated as well as the map of simulated average wind speed and potential wind turbine production over the surrounding area. The uncertainty analysis is performed as well. This set consists of 6 partial reports.

The Importance of Motivation for a Leadership
Podhajská, Zuzana ; Horáková, Jana (advisor) ; Pavla, Pavla (referee)

Citizens on the Pension System - November 2016
Čadová, Naděžda
In its November survey the Center for Public Opinion Research focused on some issues related to the pension system and pension reform. Within this thematic block respondents were presented three pairs of opposing statements expressing general attitudes to the different characteristics of the pension system. Respondents expressed their position through a five-point scale, where point 1 meant identification with the first of a pair of opposing statements and point 5, on the contrary, featured complete shift to the second statement. Individual claims were related to contradiction between principle of solidarity and merit in the pension system, whether financial security of retired people should be ensured by state or by the citizens themselves and whether the pension system in its current form is just or unjust.

Card of Cryptosporidium infections by humans and animals
BLÁHOVEC, Ondřej
The representatives of the Cryptosporidium genus are one of the causes of gastrointestinal tract diseases in humans and animals. In animals the host may even be a respiratory apparatus. The disease is called cryptosproridiosis. In majority of cases this infection can bypass without any major problems, but in immunosuppressed individuals it can cause serious health problems. Cryptosporidium has a monoxenous development cycle, which basically means that the entire development takes place in a single host. Exogenous stage is represented by oocysts, which are in case of a gastrointestinal disease excreted in faeces. In case of a respiratory disease the oocysts make they way out via respiratory and nasal secretions. This leads to contamination of the environment or water. In general, it is expected that Cryptosporidium isolates, which are present in one class of vertebrates, are not infectious to a non-specific host from other classes. It is also expected that cryptosporidia have low host specificity. But this does not exclude that some kinds have gradually extended its specificity to more species. It is also apparent that cryptosporidium infections are common in animals that inhabit the external environment, so even a human can be endangered by this zoonosis, although the incidence in the Czech Republic is low. The reason for the low numbers may as well be that parasitological examination is not performed very often, so the estimated prevalence in the population is probably much higher. Therefore to reveal the originator of this disease it would be appropriate to perform a parasitological examination in persons who are in contact with animals, this way the cryptosporidium infection would be excluded or proven.
