Title: Web application for teaching basic knowledge of mathematics at secondary school Author: Vladimíra Pavlicová Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Jarmila Robová, CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: robova@karlin.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The presented work is intended to serve as a teaching material for pupils of the first year of secondary school, focusing on the basic knowledge of mathematics. Specifically, it deals with the subject matter of powers and polynomials. It is composed of two sub-sections - an educational text, in which the subject matter is clearly explained and illustrated through solved examples, and exercises to practice, which allow pupils to check, eventually improve, their knowledge. Owing to the fact that the work has a form of a web application, the emphasis is placed on interactive elements (for example, step-by-step solutions, multiple choice tests), which increase the attractiveness of the presented curriculum for pupils. Pupils are therefore able to learn and practice the curriculum by enjoyable way. The fact that the application is freely available on the Internet can also increase pupils' interest in it. Keywords: basic knowledge of mathematics, powers, polynomials

Responsibility ethic in the family care
TOMKOVÁ, Hana
Also in the ancient Rome people knew that a family is the fundamental unit of society. It seems to lose family importance, also family care of the oldest relatives. Sooner the coexistence of two or three generations was common but today the specialists talk about the family deflection and about the emphasis on the individuality of the each family member. The aim of this Bachelor work is to answer the guestion how much the economics influence or reduce family care of the old, ill and disabled people. In this work the analysis of data method, the technique of secondary data analysis and the quantitative analysis with the questionnaires were adopted. The investigation proceeded by sixty employees in the Rest home in Radkova Lhota. The hypothesis was that each employee has a senior at home and take care of him / her or will take care of the senior in the future. From the result of this investigation ensued that people are mostly able to take care of an old family member even at the expense of an employment but they wouldn´t dispense with the state allowance. Now I compare a few information about the age groups. The most of the informants in the age of 18 to 25 live together with his/her potential senior in one house or a flat. They would take care of the senior themselves or with a help of their family. They didn´t deal with the question of allowance. On the other hand the generation in the age of 45 to 54 live without the senior one or more kilometres far-away. These people would take care of the senior only with a help of family members and they think that the allowance is complying. So the answer of this Bachelor work is: There is a posibility how to take care of senior when people can expect a help of family members. This is true that the community develop, the family care will not become extinct despote of the previous policy endeavour. We will hark back to it because we are the people.

Interactive flexible program - Sulfur chemistry and its impact to acquiring of curriculum
Dvořák, Michal ; Čipera, Jan (advisor) ; Bílek, Martin (referee) ; Havlíček, David (referee)
13. Summary At the end I have found out that all the main and partial goals identified at the beginning of the work have been fulfilled and the stated hypothesis has been confirmed. The results of the educational material analysis show that there is no any satisfactory complex educational program on the market. The questionnaire investigation between teachers and pupils acknowledged the present trend of using computers in education. It was explicitly demonstrated the interest at the both side oť the utilization in education system. The most of teachers appreciate the possibility to edit the Program according to the current needs. The chosen technology DHTML allows any user with the basic computer literacy and at least elementary knowledge of HTML to modify and adjust the Program in compliance with the actual conditions. On the basis of the facts established by enquiry I have created the Interactive Flexible Program "Chemistry of Sulfur" in order to all requirements on the modern didactic instrument specified for self-study. I have verified the created IFp during the study on some secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The results proofed the main research hypothesis of this work that the self-study with IFP contributes to the better results within learning of chernistry. I only did not succeed in the...

Impact of Audio-lingual Methods on Effectiveness of Teaching the Russian Language
Skalková, Martina ; Žofková, Hana (referee) ; Liptáková, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the audiolingual operations in mixed method and their impact to effectiveness of Russian language teaching of secondary students and also to cognitive and memory learning strategies. This work was realized during the first 18 months of Russian language teaching. It was realized within the ambit of an applicated research which was based by a statistic analysis at Merchant Academy in Brno during 2005-2006. Diploma thesis is aimed to show better efficiency of Russian language teaching by using audiolingual operations in mixed method compared with classic mixed method. The theoretic starting point is based on the princips of audiolongual method found by American structuralists using the auditive understanding of the students. The perceptive language activity is emphasized and followed by more intensive and rapid fixation of the language. The research is based on both quality and quantity methodology - didactic language tests and observing method. The conclusion of this research confirms better effect of audiolingual operations in mixed method of Russian language teaching in all areas of interest - the language competitions e.g. lexical, grammatical, orthographical and audition (listening). Title: The Role of Secondary Electron Emission in Dust Grain Charging Author: Ivana Richterová Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Zdeněk Němeček, DrSc. Abstract: This work presents a secondary emission model focused on micron and submicron dust grains. The results allowed us to predict surface potentials of grains charged by 50 eV -- 15 keV electron beams. The probability that such electrons penetrate through grains increases with their energy and decreases with a grain size and depends on a grain shape. Model predictions were experimentally verified for glass, gold, and carbon spherical grains and for lunar regolith simulants. In dusty plasmas, charge accumulated on dust grains and plasma parameters govern the ensemble dynamics. The model can be thus utilised in calculations of phenomenon in planet magnetospheres (e.g. spokes in Saturn's rings), in tokamak edge plasmas, etc. Keywords: Secondary emission, dust grains, dust charging

Comparation of electoral programs of ODS and ČSSD in the domain of economic and social policy
Kříhová, Dominika ; Prorok, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šabatka, Michal (referee)
This thesis is a comparative study of electoral programs of the two most powerful czech political parties ODS (Civic Democratic Party) and ČSSD (Czech Social Democratic Party) namely in the domain of their economic and social policies. The main aim of this work is solely the comparation thus the research of similar and different points which ODS and ČSSD seek to promote in the long term. A secondary objective is an attempt to determine whether the frequent disputes between these parties stems from ideological differences, or whether it is rather a pragmatic concern. Comparison is in the same time synchronous and diachronic (comparison of two programs of political parties in the time frame from the beginning of 90's until these days), such a comparison allows to identify the consistency and continuity in the programs of ODS and ČSSD and their overall development. The first part introduces the ideological foundations of the ODS and ČSSD, the most important milestones in their development and their position in the czech party system. The second part is a comparison of the electoral programs of these parties in the mentioned area, according to various themes. The third part examines whether the dissents between the parties are rather ideological or pragmatic, mentioned is the role of opposition in the political process and the centripetalism of modern political parties.

The meaning of the education in secondary prevention of ischemic heart disease
Adamcová, Jitka ; Tůmová, Andrea (advisor) ; Býma, Svatopluk (referee) ; Prchalová, Eva (referee)
The main idea of my work is to give a comprehensive view of education problems and its meaning in secondary prevention of ischemic heart disease. As the education is all life process it isn't possible to find a complex effect upon further development of ischemic heart disease in such a short time. The theoretical part of my work shows the terms as aterosklerosis, ischemic heart disease, risk factors and education. In the next part I try to find out life style of clients (patients) and their knowledge. I use questionnaire. One part of this questionnaire is a small objective inquiry of a nurse. After 2 -3 months I compare the improvement in particular spheres of life style. 50 clients (patients) of a private cardio surgery have taken part in my research. In the end I can say that even if the results of my research weren't 100 per cent positive at all 50 clients (patients), they show unambiguous contribution of the education in secondary prevention of cardio vascular diseases.

Economic Analysis of Judicial Activity
Zabranská, Monika ; Kühn, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis deals with the problem of the monopoly structure of the modern justice system and the heavy regulation of most fields of dispute resolution. In this system, judges themselves comprise a self-interested group seeking relaxed regulation and increased rights from the government. The thesis describes inefficiencies and dangers stemming from the lack of market control of the modern justice system and suggests an alternative in the form of a private justice system. The purpose of this paper is to examine both the problem of successful implementation of competition into the current justice system, while describing various models as to how the private justice system could function without state control, with examples from history. This paper further examines the economic differences between private and public justice systems in terms of incentives, efficiency, the process of law creation, speed, and consumers' satisfaction, as well as the conditions under which different systems work best. The main conclusion of this paper is that society should allow all subjects desirous of opportunities to provide goods and services through new enterprises, even in areas currently the exclusive domain of the state, as doing so brings an increase in quality, speed of solution/service, and innovation.

Generating meaning of popular texts demonstrated on the czech television serial Místo nahoře
Fričová, Michaela ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
The starting point of this piece of work is proposition that television and its texts are an agent of the dominant ideology in society. Through the princip of hegemony the rulling class imposes its meanings and values on the subordinated classes. Hegemony is based on allowing resistent and alternative meanings which are nevertheless articulated in terms of the dominant ideology and are subsequently incorporated into the existing system. This thesis then follows John Fiske's understanding of popular culture and activated texts . These are texts which do not imp lose one limited meani ng on its readers, but which allow its readers by means of various strategies to interpret the text with regards to their social position. The second part of this work includes semiological analysis of a particular product of popular culture - the television serial Misto nahore. The emphasis is put on the process of encoding - how the dominant meanings and values are encoded and implied in the text. Besides, the attention is directed towards the 'opening' strategies of the text. This section also includes an analysis of the secondary texts (newspaper and magazine articles ) and terciary texts (viewers' reacti ons and opinions on the web). I examine whether the sec ondary texts promote dom inant or resistant reading strategies,...

Analysis of usury legislation
Červenková, Tereza ; Lechner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jurčík, Radek (referee)
The project analyzes current legislation on usury in the Czech Republic and the financial literacy of the adult population. On 1 Dec. 2016, an amended Act on Consumer Loans entered into force and this project examines it. The project compares Czech legislation on usury with selected European Union countries. Czech legislation is similar with German and Portugal legislation, especially in terms of civil law. The most effective legislation can be considered in Spain, which explicitly stipulates allowed interest rate limits. Based on that, Czech legislation on usury should be adjusted. The research results show a correlation between respondents' highest-achieved level of education and their financial literacy levels. The research also finds that the number of court distraints (property seizures) and the willingness to borrow money is lower among respondents with university-level education than for respondents with secondary and basic school education. When comparing our findings with research by STEM/MARK dating from 2010, it is clear that the financial literacy of the adult population in the Czech Republic has not changed significantly since that time.
