The role of the nurse by patient with Holter transmitted home
ČEČKOVÁ, Monika
Diseases of the cardiovascular system rank among the most frequent causes of death. This thesis called ``The role of the nurse taking care of patients with the Holter monitor when they are discharged home`` deals with this non-invasive examination of the cardiovascular system. Timely diagnostics is of high importance to show a number of diseases. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with diseases of the cardiovascular system. The diseases mentioned include: the syncope, arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease and hypertension. Further, it deals with the non-invasive examination by means of the Holter monitor, which is connected with the diseases mentioned before. This is followed by informing the patient in connection with this examination, communication skills of the medical staff with the patient and the education in this non-invasive examination. The practical part of the thesis lays down three objectives. The first objective was to find out whether patients with the Holter monitor, when being discharged home, have sufficient information on this examination. The second objective focused on nurses, and finding out the way nurses view their role as the educator of the patients with the Holter monitor. The third objective was to find out whether patients were afraid of this examination. Next, three hypotheses were set up. The first hypothesis supposed that nurses working in outpatient and inpatient cardiac care facilities had enough information on the electrocardiograph monitoring and blood pressure by means of the Holter monitor. The second hypothesis supposed patients with the Holter monitor, when being discharged home had sufficient information on this examination. The third hypothesis supposed that nurses educated patients with the Holter monitor on discharging them home. All objectives were fulfilled and hypotheses confirmed. To fulfil the objectives and confirm the hypotheses, I used the quantitative method. To collect data I used a questionnaire for patients and another one for nurses. The research set consisted of nurses working in selected outpatient facilities of the Kardiologie Medipont s.r.o. and Kardioecho s.r.o. in České Budějovice and in selected inpatient cardiac care facilities. Further, a questionnaire investigation with patients with the Holter monitor from the same health care facilities as the nurses. 80 questionnaires were handed out to patients and 80 questionnaires to the nurses. 53 questionnaires were given back by the patients and 39 questionnaires by the nurses. This thesis could acquaint the public and medical staffs with the prevention and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases, thus attracting their attention to the importance of timely diagnostics and treatment. Further, it could be of beneficial to inform the health care facilities the survey was conducted in, with the results. Nurses have a lot of roles during their work. Their role as the educator, which undoubtedly ranks among them, is essential in the diagnostics by the Holter monitor.

Automatic corrections in MS Office Word and their impact on children's grammar
Král, Jaroslav ; Štípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
In its theoretical part this bachelor thesis focuses on introducing how spelling and grammar corrections in text processors work on basic level. Brief history of text processors as well as linguistic basics needed for comprehension of the discussed problems are mentioned. In its practical part the bachelor thesis focuses on a research. Its goal is to examine whether there is a connection between using grammar and spelling correction in Microsoft Office Word 2007 and the level of grammatical expression of the youth. Another goal is to examine the hand written text conducted in the research for distribution of errors recognized by Microsoft Office Word 2007 in relation to errors not recognized by this program. A questionnaire and a dictate, which is first written in hand and then later in same form using Microsoft Office Word 2007, are used to gather the data necessary for the research. The evaluation of the research reveals some interesting results, however the hypotheses of the research are not validated.

Dimitrová, Michaela
In April 2008 CVVM investigated, whether according to Czech citizens values such as democracy, equality, cooperation, toleration, justice and solidarity are being exercised in European Union. The largest proportion of Czechs answered on this subject positively in connection with cooperation and democracy (72 % both) and by contrast equality obtained least agreeing answers (36 %). Then Czechs also evaluated helpfulness and harmfulness of European integration in these areas - economy, politics, culture, country defence and ecology. Most Czechs supposed that European integration is useful in area of ecology (76 %) and on the other hand 57 % of Czech citizens mean that this integration is useful in relation to politics.

Affecting the growth of a tumor on an experimental animal model
Kučera, Alexandr ; Škába, Richard (advisor) ; Eckschlager, Tomáš (referee) ; Havránek, Petr (referee) ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
In this study we present the models of preventive and therapeutic vaccination of sarcoma-bearing rats with dendritic cells that present tumor antigens from killed tumor cells. We present the characteristics of DCs-based vaccine and its capacity to induce antitumor immune response both in v vitro and in vivo. We show that preventive vaccination efficiently prevents the growth of tumors. On the other hand vaccination of rats with established tumors did not led to the eradication of tumors. Despite the induction of a vigorous immune response after administration of DCs-based vaccine and transient decrease in tumor progression, tumors eventually resumed their growth and animals vaccinated with DCs succumbed to cancer. In both settings, preventive and therapeutic, DCs-based vaccination induced a vigorous tumor specific T cells response. These results argue for the timing of cancer immunotherapy to the stages of low tumor load. Immunotherapy initiated at the stage of minimal residual disease, after reduction of tumor load by other modalities, will have much better chance to offer a clinical benefit to cancer patients than the immunotherapy at the stage of metastatic disease. Present occurence of Enterobiasis in chldren
BREUOVÁ, Dora
Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) is one of the most common nematodes in the world.Adult worms multiply in the large intestine. Gravid female pinworms migrate to the rectum, where they lay eggs on the skin around the anus. The disease caused by pinworm is called enterobiosis. Small children specially are suffering from this disease. There is no association with world areas or social groups. Enterobiosis is transmitted by faecal-oral route. Eggs are transmitted either through contaminated hands or objects or even dust can contain pinworm eggs. Enterobiosis is usually asymptomatic. However, sometimes there is itching in the anal area, insomnia, discomfort and enuresis and also there could be further complication such as acute appendicitis. Rarely, but in women pinworm can move into the vagina and from there further to uterus or also to the urinary tract. In this case pills Mebendazoland, Thiabendazol are used as a treatment. The goals of this thesis were: 1) To examine representative group of children by Graham method to determine prevalence of enterobiosis. 2) To compare the results with past results which were recorded in the Czech Republic.3) To compare the results with results published elsewhere. In total 113 children were examined from 3 infant schools. Children were in age between 3-7. Nine out of those children were from village and the rest of them were town children. Samples had been collected in the period of time May 2012 - March 2013. Parents of those children gave permission for examination. Samples were taken by Graham method, also called ,,Cellophane tape test?? which is simple and cheap.Transparent adhesive tape was applied and pressed to perianal area of the child several times. Afterward the tape has been attached to microscope slide, marked by pertaining number and put into the plastic box before observation. Those samples were observed using the light microscope Olympus CX 21. Objective 10x has been used to scan the slide and find eggs of Enterobius vermicularis and objective 40x for confirmation of egg determination. To find eggs of Enterobius vermicularis object-lens 10x was used.To check positivity when eggs were found I used lens 40x.Five samples out of 113 samples of examinated children were positive on presence of enterobiosis. The total prevalence was 4,4%. Age and sex were considered. Three out of five positive samples came from boys and two from girls. One of the boys was age 4 and two age 6. Girls were of age 4 and 5. The level of significance (P>5%) confirmed that there was no difference among children aged depending on the disease. Difference between sexes was not been confirmed. From a previous study was found out that differences between adults and children were not big at all and statistically were not confirmed that adults suffering from enterobiosis is lass than children suffering from this disease. It is hard to confirm that there is no relation between age and spreading this disease because we there are not enough studies on this subject. The cases where adult became ill with enterobiosis were predominately caused by transmission of the infection from children that obtained enterobiosis in the school and then infected family members. Studies focused on occurrence children enterobiosis took place in the Czech Republic in 70´s. My results were compared with results from those studies. The prevalence was compared at a time and displayed in a graph. I found out that prevalence decreased 10-20 times. From foreign studies the prevalences in European and Asian states were taken and compared with others in the chart. Assumption was, that prevalence in Europe will be lower than in Asia. From my statistics had been demonstrated that the prevalences of this disease is equal in both areas. However the groups of examined were different in each state, which means that results cannot be statistically compared.

The politics of Edward I. on the British isles and in France
Kovaříková, Šárka ; Drška, Václav (advisor) ; Nejedlý, Martin (referee)
King Edward I reigned in England for thirty five years. The authors of medieval chronicles speak about him as magnificent ruler, capable warrior and politician. Modern historians write about many problems and wars he had to resolve or win, mostly with success. England of Edward I had two more outer parts - Wales and Ireland. Wales was divided among powerfull barons who had to perform homagium to English kings. Between 1272 and 1307 there were three rebelions led by native princes. After last of them, in 1292, Wales was finaly conquered by English. Ireland was supposed to be firmly in English hands; Edward never visited the country nor had to send army to it. In the thirteenth century there were two kingdoms on the British Isles - England and Scotland. English kings tried to obtain influential position in the northern realm; Scottish kings had to perform homagium to them. Question is whether this was for Scotland or only for lands which Scottish kings held in England. In 1290 the dynasty of Scottish kings died out and Edward I took the opportunity. He chose new ruler and after John Balliol failed in his duties to England, Edward entered Scotland with army. The campaigns, thanks to resist in the northern part of the kingdom, continued until the end of Edward's reign. Scotland was never fully conquered. The...

Black Madonnas - Iconography and Worship
Hřebíčková, Jana ; Royt, Jan (advisor) ; Ottová, Michaela (referee)
Anotation Black Madonnas are a very specific iconographic type, which origin is not clear. They are statues or pictures of Virgin Mary, who often holds child Christ in her hands and both figures or only Mary herself have black or dark complexion. In the course of the time it was discovered that some of these Madonnas darkened secondarily thanks to the chemical changes of the carnation or the smoke of candles. Some of them had dark complexion from the beginning. In the 19. and 20. centuries different research approaches led to many theories, which try to explain the origin and the significance of these black Madonnas. Nowadays there exist several fundamental theories explaining, which iconographic influences would support the development of this image of Virgin Mary and also refer to its possible meaning. The iconography of Black madonnas is closely connected to their veneration. However the period sources illustrate that the practice directed at Black Madonnas as a particular image of Virgin Mary developed as late as the post reformation period. Majority of the black Madonnas was as the other venerated Madonnas dressed, crowned and enthroned. Frequently used words in work: ikonography Virgin Mary black Madonnas worship of Virgin Mary legends sculptures and images

Biohazard and readiness of rescue teams.
KLÍMOVÁ, Veronika
Biohazard and readiness of rescue teams The thesis deals with biohazard and with the readiness of rescue forces. This issue has been discussed little even though some groups more and more draw the attention to imminent danger and panic connected with it, mainly due to terrorism. Another part deals with making alert, provision of medical care at the side of the incident and subsequent triage with the specimen of a registration card that facilitates orientation of the patient?s condition. There are also discussed tasks and activities of basic forces of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS), where there must be print action analysis of an object found with a suspicion of the presence of B-agens. Activities of the NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) teams are mentioned here only marginally. These teams are involved in dealing with contamination and focused on further actions. The next chapter deals with various types of protective instruments that are able to protect us against B-agens. Further on, mechanisms and methods of decontamination are described together with other measures against spread of contamination. Another part of the thesis deals with biological weapons or B-agens that cause various diseases and illnesses. They are divided according to categories and pathogens. These infectious diseases are here described according to their severity. The objective of this work was to describe the most significant combat biological agens that could be abused by terrorist organizations and the procedures of the IRS forces in joint actions. By means of hypotheses I tried to find out whether the basic forces of the IRS have sufficient information and material security. I compiled a questionnaire with 21 questions, where there was always only one right answer to each question. I handed out the questionnaires at ambulance stations, fire rescue brigade stations and Police of the Czech Republic stations in South Bohemian Region.
