"Within un-, sub- or supernatural forces": establishing the world of Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead
Krtička, Filip ; Wallace, Clare (advisor) ; Pilný, Ondřej (referee)
The atmosphere of Stoppard's tour de force is one of confusion from the beginning to end. Guildenstern is confused about the outcome of the coin tossing and, thus, about the ruling principle of the world, Rosencrantz is confused about Guildenstern's role-playing practice of questioning Hamlet, everyone is confused about which one of the pair is Rosencrantz and which one is Guildenstern, and they are in turn confused about everyone else. Determinism is confused with absurdity, fate is confused with chance, reality is confused with fiction, and art with life. All this is because of the coin, because of all the duality and duplicity of and in the play. When it is announced at the end that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Hamlet, all are dead, the reader or the audience are confused about what they have read and seen. "Clearly, Stoppard is transgressing well-defined literary boundaries, and doing so in such a way that his own characters suffer the consequences of his manipulations."287 Stoppard's drama, a hypertext, is situated at the fringes of texts. He thematizes the textual relationships of Rosencrantz's hypotexts. By doing so, the confusion of his protagonists is brought about by the (con)fusion of texts: "That duplicity of the object, in the sphere of textual relations, can be represented by the old analogy...

Lease of a flat
Dolinková, Marie ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
Resumé The Lease of Flat As the theme of my thesis I have chosen the problem of a lease of flat because the legal regulation of flat renting in our system of law has been still developing in the latest twenty years and it is passing through the relatively important changes, concerning regulations of setting and amount of the rent especially. The significance of the legal regulation of flat renting in the Czech Republic is also emphasized by the high percentage of inhabitants who live in rented flats. Since the legal regulation of a flat lease is rather extensive and complicated I tried to describe at least the core features of that legal institute, in my thesis I focused on discharge of the rent. My thesis consists of 13 chapters. In the introductory part I deal with the term of the housing law and its meaning. Despite the fact that in the present there is not a civil definition of the term - a flat in the Czech system of law I attempt to explain that term and I define the term of cooperative and official quarters too. In the third chapter I itemize the basic characteristics of the rent and the institute of flat renting. In the fourth chapter I deal with the ways of a rise of a flat lease, especially the contract of lease of a rented flat in itself. The fifth chapter briefly describes correlative rights and...

Liability for damage caused by a defective product
Chlaňová, Alice ; Švestka, Jiří (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
Alice Chlaňová Odpovědnost za škodu způsobenou vadným výrobkem 64 9. The liability for damage caused by defect of a product In my diploma thesis, I am concerned with one of the tools of policy to protect consumers that I consider as a very important and useful in the times of open market and free movement of goods. The tool discussed is the liability for damage caused by defect of a product, which entered in force on the 1st of June 1998 by the particular law no 59/1998 Coll., as amended by Act no 209/2000 Coll. The principal point of this civil proceedings is to enlarge heavily the present consumer protection formed mainly by the statutory regulation that is stated in the law no 634/1992 Coll., law on consumer protection, then in the law no 22/1997 Coll., law on technical requirements of products and others. I have been trying to conceive the law about the liability for damage caused by the defect of product from all basic viewpoints. It means that I am interested mainly in circumstances that the special regulation was adopted; what caused its mooring in the Czech legislation; consequences for consumers and also for producers. Furthermore, there is a survey of its correspondence with European regulation from which the Czech legislative regulation of liability for damage caused by defect of a product...

This diploma thesis brings a look at the relatively new technology Microsoft Silverlight, which is a new platform for developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA). It contains features and principles of Silverlight technology in a context of several other technologies. As a part of this work, there is a practical project developed in Microsoft Silverlight 2.0, which is used as a demonstration of described principals and techniques in a theoretical part. The goal of this work is to provide the best possible and complete description of Silverlight's features, advantages, but also limitations. In the thesis there can be also found comparisons with related technology Microsoft Windows Presentation Framework (WPF) and also with other competitors on a RIA market.

Measuring operation processes of IS for petrol stations
Šebelík, Jan ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Ďásek, Pavel (referee)
The thesis concerns with measurement of processes of support and maintenance of a specialized information system for petrol stations. It is a system for support of retail sale of fuel and other non-fuel goods. As the main objective of the thesis was selected design of set of metrics for measurement of these processes based on multidimensionality principle. It means that dimensions and indicators are designed separately and a set of recommended metrics is based on their combinations. It is possible to get additional metrics using other combinations. The theoretical basis of the thesis is the ITIL library -- which is an internationally respected standard for IT service management -- and metrics designed in other literature and diploma theses. The designed metrics are adapted for the analyzed environment and service information system, however, they should be usable in other environments as well. Selected metrics were implemented to the service information system and measured in a relatively wide sample of input data. This allowed evaluating usability of the metrics and comparison of the threshold values with the measured ones. The relationship of metrics and service agreements (SLAs) is described in the end of the thesis. Specific metrics suitable to be incorporated to SLA were designed including a real-life example.

FIilmy Lucrecii Martel
Ortiz Cordero, Edgar Josue ; BERGAN, Ronald (advisor) ; BENDOVÁ, Helena (referee)
