Polemics about the negative and positive freedom in contemporary political philosophy
Smelík, Vít ; Znoj, Milan (advisor) ; Bíba, Jan (referee)
This thesis concentrates on the polemics about negative and positive freedom, which was initiated by Isaiah Berlin who considered this concept as important sign of liberal political theory. The author starts with the analysis of "Two Concepts of Liberty" by Isaiah Berlin, and then complements this analysis with the reflections of three more authors - Gerald MacCallum, Jr., Charles Taylor and Philip Pettit - who either wrote in direct reaction to Berlin's essay, or were indirectly influenced by it. The goal of the thesis is the confrontation of their conclusions with Berlin's original arguments and the demonstration of the author's own understanding of political liberty.

Mottlová, Petra ; Vorlová, Marie (advisor) ; Kunc, Stanislav (referee)
My Bachelor work is called The individualization in ́the houses on a half' way ́ with concentrating on an individual plan , and changes connecting to the introduction of the standard of the social serves quality I engaged in getting acquainted with the law No.108/2006 sb., about Social Services , changes that this law brings, Quality standards of Social Services, and their requirements. Then I was devoting an individual work with clients and an individual planning on that basis. Since this work has been oriented at The Houses on a half'way above all I wanted to get known this Service well, find out who is this service for and how it works. I interviewed welfare workers from The house on a half'way in Hrochův Týnec. I've tried to do justice to the main changes which the law No. 108/2006 has brought and which are connected with animplementation of ̈The Quality standarts of social services ̈ to practise(to real life). The main objective of this work was not even drawing near the new things these two documents have brought, what they are here for and what objektive they have, but also bringing near how the individual planning works, its producing and what it is dedicated to. The partial target was to find out what changes these documents have brought to practise. The methods I have chosen for this research are...

The Hippocratic treatise De arte: translation and commentary
Budeme mít příležitost jasněji spatřit, v čem spočívá ona často zdůrazňovaná "filosofičnost" rané řecké vědy a do jaké míry múžeme v daném období vědu a filosofii vůbec rozlišovat. Přestože...

Referential catalogue of public administration services
Mišurec, David ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Popílek, Jaroslav (referee)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to develop a referential catalogue of public administration services, which should provide its users with summary of services provided by public administration. Theoretical part of thesis at first defines notions and presents problems connected with providing public administration services in context of development in period after Velvet revolution in Czech Republic. After that, work follows with global situation in European Union and concentrates on one country (Austria) and its services. During design of the catalogue was used actual knowledge and research about service providing, which reflects customer oriented approach and access through single point of contact. The necessity of splitting the whole process of service providing into two parts, service access and service execution part, is emphasized. Within design of catalogue are presented two main models -- domain model describing the structure of catalogue itself and service model, describing services. Based on analysis of possible uses and its integration potential with existing systems are defined its main benefits and is devised integrating principles designed in catalogue into "Portal veřejné správy".

The Value of Touch in the Nursing Profession
Bryndová, Renata ; Hlaváčová, Marie (advisor) ; Uhrová, Jana (referee)
This thesis concentrates on the issue of touch - based communication in general nursing in the area of emergency care. The theoretical part drala with the value itself, the importace of the touch in the life of a man, the role of physical contact within the scope of nursing profession, and the possible consequences of the touch. Further, the thesis is concerned with the issue of the therapeutic touch and its importance, versatility of means of non-verbal communication, and some selected dissimilarities of non-verbal communication within the field of multicultural environment. The last section of theoretical part of the thesis is engaged in the questions of burnout. The research project, which is presented in the practical part of the thesis, is aimed at the realization of the process of the touch-based communication between the nurse and the patient in selected departments and wards, and the variety of factors, which influence the process of communication. I have used two types of questionnaires in the research. The first one is my own question-form and the other one is the officially approved questionnaire. I have chosen Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) by Christine Maslach. The goal of my own question-form is the monitoring of the factors, which deal with consciosus and unconscious communication, Its...

The Perception of Marks and Written Assessment by Teachers, Pupils and Parents
Zedníková, Martina ; Stará, Jana (advisor) ; Linková, Marie (referee)
My diploma paper is focused on perceiving the issue o f m arking and verbal evaluation at the prim ary schools by teachers, pupils and parents. In the theoretical part I investigated the ideas o f theorists. I concentrated on the concepts o f evaluation and assessm ent, the types and functions o f evaluation and verbal evaluation and marking. I carried out a theoretical analysis o f the advantages and disadvantages o f the exam ined forms of evaluation. The aim o f the practical part was to research and consequently estim ate the current situation, particularly to w hat extent are theorist's opinions related to / different from the school practice. I would like to em phasize that, according to my opinion, two most im portant conclusions come out of my research. None of the discussed w ays of evaluation is more convenient - the best w ould be to com bine and utilize both of them. The parents play indispensable role in the evaluation process. Their cooperation w ith the children and the school helps to shape the evaluation in the w ay that the assessm ent is created by both - the teachers and the pupils. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The molecular mechanism of CSL protein participation in oxidative stress response in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Daněk, Petr ; Převorovský, Martin (advisor) ; Sipiczki, Matthias (referee)
Redox homeostasis maintenance is important for proper organism and cell function, for while relatively low amount of reactive oxygen (and nitrogen) species contributes to the fine tuning of signal transduction, excessive concentration of ROS (oxidative stress) has demonstrably harmful effects and is tightly connected to many pathological states. Cells therefore evolved broad palette of antioxidant mechanisms that express striking level of conservation among different species. Large, intricate stress response signaling networks have been already described; nonetheless, novel molecules employed in stress-related signaling are still being discovered. Several studies recently suggested transcription factors CSL, proteins essential for regulation of metazoan development as effectors of Notch signaling, are also involved in response to oxidative stress. The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, well established model of response to various stresses, comprises two paralogs of CSL proteins - Cbf11 and Cbf12. We have found cells depleted of cbf11 are highly resistant to hydrogen peroxide. This resistance appears to be caused by upregulation of important stress responsive genes including ctt1, gst2, pyp2, and atf1. Cbf11 is therefore negative regulator of these genes, which suppresses their expression...
