Residential Complex in Brno - Komín
Slováček, Jakub ; Poslušná, Iva (referee) ; Jura, Pavel (advisor)
Urban design proposal is based on the values of the territory. The solution supports an established walking path and defines its extension and termination on the top of the hill. An area of the top will be flattened and will serve as a viewpoint of the city district. A space for the realization of small architecture (sculpture, gazebo, chapel ...) will be created concurrently. The place defines a new compositional axis in the region. Retention of part of the parcel undeveloped as an element of the landscape entering the city becomes an important factor. The undeveloped territory will be used for recreation of residents of housing complex and nearest area. Existing trees will be preserved in the territory. The building structure is designed according to the principle of low-rise high density. Therefore it creates a compact form on the border of living in family house and apartment building. The structure creates a solid street front. Behind the front a range of places from public to completely private is offered. Developable area is divided into three parts (separate phases). Each part will consist of three objects, built on a common underground parking and defining a courtyard among them. Special consideration is given to the definition and hierarchy of spaces and the transition among them: public street - semi-private courtyard - private gardens, event. entrances to the apartments. The objects create a solid, less structured composition with a regular grid of windows towards the street. The scale changes to the smaller in the courtyard and richer matter solution promotes an intimacy of the semi-private courtyard. The objects are divided in both horizontal and vertical planes. Courtyard is a central space where entrances to houses and apartments as well as a staircase (incl. lift) from the garage are oriented to. This offers a potential for everyday encounters with neighbors. Another element supporting the close neighborhood is a common clubroom designed for meetings, workshops or, eg. as a seasonal children's playroom. The clubroom is located in the house B in direct response to the courtyard. Each of the three houses is unique and offers a different comfort level from "classic" apartment building to the townhouse (maisonette apartment with separate entrance). The more comfortable apartments are provided with a garden event. balcony or terrace.

The Issue of Balancing Work and Family
HRDLIČKOVÁ, Gabriela
In recent decades, Czech society is undergoing major changes, mainly political and social. There are changes in legislation, private business and foreign companies enter the market. The structure of the industry is changing, there is demand for new professions. This requires changes in the education system, some companies disappear, unemployment rises and new social phenomena appear. This thesis focuses on important changes relating to families, children and work. I want to point out how it is increasingly difficult to reconcile work and family life with current opportunities in the job market, economic difficulties and lack of childcare facilities. There are changes in the attitude towards family, traditions and the perception of the world. The demography is changing, the age to start the family is shifting; people focuse more on personal benefits and safety. Emphasis is put on achieved education, building a professional career. The problematic of gender becomes part of our lives and affects the traditional distribution of roles in our society. The aim of this theses is to find how families overcome these obstacles in their lives and to show which problems bring the greatest burden on them.

Vaňková, Václava ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
The aim of this Master thesis is to describe demographic and social structure of Beroun region in the half of the 17th century. The thesis is based on the data from the Register of Religion Affiliation from 1651, which was published by the National Chancery. The work is divided into two parts; in the first part there is a description of the Beroun region in the half of 17th century and the sources and methods used in the work are commented there. The second part contains analytic chapters such as demographic structure of the population, families and household structure and also the social structure of the population. Special attention is paid to the estimates of the population which was not included in the source, especially children from 0 to 13 years. The analyses confirmed that population in the half of the 17th century had progressive demographic structure, which was, however, deformed as a result of the previous war years (especially as a consequence of the plague epidemics). The important part of the thesis is the comparison with other regions of Bohemia in the same period. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Nedomová, Radka ; Pechholdová, Markéta (advisor) ; Nývlt, Ondřej (referee)
Diploma thesis explores the diversity of demographic behavior depending on marital status and is aimed at summarizing the effect of marital status on demographic behavior as a whole. The first phase deals with the concepts of impact of marital status on demographic behavior, explains the theory of selection and causality and outlines the historical development of nuptiality and divorce by using basic indicators. The practical part is based on the results of Population and Housing Censuses during the period 1961-2011 and compares the changes in the structure of the Czech population by sex, age and marital status between censuses. Emphasis is placed on the period after 1990. Furthermore, in separate chapters is mapped out how marital status affects demographic processes of fertility, abortion, nuptiality and mortality. In the case of fertility exploration is emphasized increasing extramarital fertility, as more and more children are born outside marriage, especially to single mothers. By using age-specific and standardized rates are analyzed changes in the development of individual demographic processes between censuses for all categories of marital status. Standardization of mortality for the years 1961, 1970 and 1980 is made on the basis of the formation of shortened life tables and the subsequent modeling of mortality at higher ages. In connection of changing structure of the population by marital status, as the proportion of unmarried and divorced people is growing and the share of people living in a marriage is decreasing, is judged attitude of the Czech public toward marriage and family according to surveys results available.

Prevalence Study of Occurence of Nosocomial Gastro-enteritis of Virus Etiology in the Bohnice Asylum in Years 2003-2009.
NUSLOVÁ, Aneta
The degree work is concentrated on the problems of the epidemic as to acute viral gastro-enteritides of nosocomial nature occurring in the Mental Home Bohnice in the years 2003 {--} 2009. I chose for my work the methodology of quantitative research in the form of an epidemiological descriptive study with the technique ``data collection and analysis{\crq}q. The infectious diarrhoeal affections are very current all the time and great importance in developing and even in advanced countries of the world. About 5 {--} 10 million people are dying of diarrhoea often connected with undernourishment in developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America per year, whereof 4,6 millions are children aged up to 5 years. The infection diarrhoeal affections in advanced countries of the world are important mainly as to their high frequency because they represent the second most frequent infection just behind the infection of air passages. The theoretical part of the work is concentrated on general characterization of the acute viral gastro-enteritis, on the process of spreading, on the most frequent aetiologic agents and on the new possibilities of diagnosis and therapy. The attention is also paid to the observance of antiepidemical measures and rules fixed in the hygienic and antiinfectious regimen, that prevent further spreading of the diseases in the case that an epidemic has broken out. In this connection, the basic profile and structure of the Mental Home Bohnice is also presented inclusive of important facts concerning the hospitalized patients. These patients form a very specific group of persons in respect to the occurrence of epidemics caused by viral diarrhoeal diseases as they are hospitalized in an isolated environment often for long term and their heath condition depends on psychiatric diagnosis. The performed investigation resumes the general judgement on the problems of epidemics caused by the acute viral gastro-enteritides in the Mental Home. It determines the most frequent aetiologic agents giving rise to this disease and analyzes these epidemics in relation to the age and sex of the patients. Another aim of the work was to explain the seasonal nature of the epidemics and to evaluate the efficiency of antiepidemical measures taken in this establishment. It is necessary to conclusion that the epidemical occurrence of viral gastro-enteritides was registered in Mental Home Bohnice even before the year 2003, but the aetiologic agents could not be specified in greater detail owing to the possibilities of virologic diagnostics being at disposal at that time.
