ZEMAN, Marek
This diploma work studies quality of life of patients suffering from Bechtěrev disease (Ankylosing Spondylitis), who had global four-weeks cure in Berta Health Spa in Třeboň from 1st January to 31st July 2006. Hypothesis says that six months after the end of balneotherapy the quality of life of these patients will be higher than before. For confirmation or confutation of this hypothesis there was used quantitative method of research, in form of adjusted questionnaire for detection of quality of Life by SEIQoL concept (Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life). By this measure respondents are allowed to nominate five areas of life (aims of life), which are most important, together with percentage rate of their satisfaction with each and the relative importance of each. Average life-quality index of the respondents before balneotharapy was 60,4 %, six months after the end of balneotharapy it was 62,7 %. Thus six months after the end of the cure the respondents have higher quality of life. Then there were mentioned and discussed differences in perception of quality of life of various age groups and of gender. There was also accomplished order of the most often mentioned aims of life, as well an analysis of ``health{\crqq} as alife aim was done. This diploma work could be used in cultural work and for improvement of informedness in problematic of life quality. But mainly, it could be perhaps taken as a little controversial report to the discussion about using of assorted exploratory concepts for evaluation of quality of life.

The main aim of this work is to describe current tendencies of processes of appellativisation in the Czech language based on the analysis of the contemporary appellativised names, which have appeared in the Czech language over the last 25 years. The thesis begins with the detailed description of the proper names and the onymic system, thereby highlighting the differences between the proper names and the system of common names. In the part of work that deals with borderline differences between the proprial and the appellative system, the issue of the appellativisation is mentioned in connection with the processes, in which the proper names in some way function. The text discusses the appellativisation and the appellativised names first from the general point of view, after which the focus changes to the analysis of appellativised names which were taken from a two part dictionary Nová slova v češtině. The analysed material is accompanied by examples of the appellativised names which appear in the articles and discussions on the internet, which were published over the last five years. Compounds in Old Church Slavonic
Zábranský, Lukáš ; Čermák, Václav (advisor) ; Bláhová, Emílie (referee) ; Bauerová, Helena (referee)
In the dissertation Compounds in Old Church Slavonic, the author seeks to shed light on the issue of how to view words formed by composition in the Old Church Slavonic literature. The methodology of processing compounds in Old Church Slavonic is discussed in a separate chapter, which also summarises the recent literature on compounds with the references to key works. It goes on to explain and justify the principles adopted for the analysis of lexemes. Individual chapters, in addition to the various types of composition and the types of compounds divided by the author, also deal with the genre or frequency of specific examples. In the first place it was with a justification defined which lexical units were taken into account in the paper and vice versa, which were not included in the corpus. In the chapter on the methodology, the use of criteria and aspects was justified. Subsequently, a space was devoted to the issue of the so-called connecting morpheme of compounds, its origin and form in specific lexemes, an analysis from a formal point of view. The order of criteria in chapters is determined by their scope, i.e. their applicability to a greater or lesser range of compounds. Statistical data was taken into account in individual groups of lexemes. Subsequently, the compounds were examined in terms of word...

Symbol and architecture
Richter, Jan ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Matějů, Martin (referee)
The thesis attempts to define and capture the relation of symbol and architecture, which is taken into account in two main thematic areas. The first area deals with the issue of symbol, which is presented on the basis of classification of symbols in two types - progressively restitutive and regressively reductive - as it was proposed by professor Borecký in the Czech culturology studies. In line with the culturological interdisciplinarity, understanding symbol is showed from different points of view adopted by various humanities such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, cultural anthropology or religious studies. The examples of concepts of symbol are taken from prominent scholars of these domains, focused especially on S. Freud, C. G. Jung, E. Cassirer, P. Ricoeur, C. Geerz or M. Eliade. The second part of the thesis is concerned in symbolic conception of the world and its architectonic representation. Understanding phenomena of reality reflects in founding places and their development into significant space for human existence by architectonic representations of symbolic meanings. The architecture is presented here as amalgamation of architectural craft with symbolic contents. Especially the ideas of phenomenologically oriented authors, such as Ch. Norberg-Schulz, D. Veselý and others, are taken into...

The first section summarizes the current approach of the international community to the question of climate changes caused by human activity, the beginnings and evolution of the theory of sustainable development and international negotiations leading to the carbon dioxide emission limits. It analyzes the position of the most important actor on the field of global greenhouse gas reduction, the European Union. As a member, the ČR is directly influenced by legislation and the commitments which have been taken at the European level. The next section identifies the situation in the Czech Republic: the amount and the main sources of emissions and set them to the European and World context. This section implies the resulting consequences for the Czech Republic. It analyzes the basic tools used in ČR for the carbon dioxide emissions reducing. The thesis also contains a case study of Telefónica O2 and explores its approach to the environmental conservation and reducing CO2 emissions. Statistical identification of industry clusters potential
Mokošová, Veronika ; Fischer, Jakub (advisor) ; Chlad, Miloslav (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to present the process connected with the identification of industrial clusters and to point out possible methods and instruments that are useable by such identification. The target is not only focussed on description of these methods but also on consideration that the methods are likewise useful in regions of Czech Republic, especially taken into account the existing offer of regional data. The diplom thesis consists of three parts. The first part represents theoretical introduction to clusters' problem. The second part, also the theoretical one, deals widely with quantitative and qualitative methods and with procedures and clasification that belong to these methods. The third part applies the theoretical knowledge into practices. The comparison methods are used in the theoretical part and the methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison and induction are used in the practical part. The diplom thesis brings a quantitative extension of methods that have been used so far when identifying the industrial clusters in Czech Republic. Due to the present trend of prefering the qualitative methods, the extension of quantitative methods could be seen as a retrograde act. But the conditions of Czech Republic tourned out that, in fact, it is a suitable extension of statistical instruments.
