Opposition in the GDR and its Connection to the Czech Dissent. Mutual Contacts at the Turn of 1970s and 1980s
Procházková, Lenka ; Konrád, Ota (advisor) ; Vilímek, Tomáš (referee)
Bachelor thesis Opposition in the GDR and its Connection to the Czech Dissent. Mutual Contacts at the Turn of 1970s and 1980s offers a new point of view on the oppositional movement in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, as it is based on the comparison with the oppositional movement in Czechoslovakian Socialistic Republic (CSSR). The work concentrates on the contacts between the representatives of the opposition from both countries and on the possible topics of their cross-border cooperation in the period between the Final Act of the Conference of Security and Cooperation in Europe in 1975 and the election of Mikhail Gorbachev as the leader of the Soviet Union in 1985. Although the traditions of the East German oppositional movement were different to the traditions of the opposition in the CSSR, there were intensive contacts between both groups (usually individual) at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. One of the crucial topics of the East German oppositional movement was the question of peace. The space for moulding of the independent peace movement (and later also for other civic initiatives) was created under the protection of the East German protestant church, which was the only institution that was independent from the state structures. There was no such...

Infant handling in male Barbary macaques
KUBĚNOVÁ, Barbora
Non-maternal manipulation of infants also called infant handling in male Barbary macaques attracts scientific attention due to its intensity in combination with promiscuity of the species that should select against paternal care. This PhD thesis consists of four studies that investigate male infant handling in wild group of Barbary macaques in Morocco. The studies are based on original data and the results provide new information about the behaviour and thus significantly contribute to its explanation. First, we offer new insights into the relationship between distribution of mating and infant handling, and ask whether it can be better explained by paternal effort or future mating success with infants' mothers. Second, we broaden the range of explanations beyond the original hypothesis of relationship management for male-infant-male interactions. Third, we focus on the question whether males use knowledge of third party relationship when distributing infant handling interactions. Fourth, we demonstrate how care of infants can surprisingly contribute to the reintroduction of an infant who is not native in its group.

Strategic analysis of an enterprise
Bohatyrov, Dmytro ; Dvořáček, Jiří (advisor) ; Krause, Josef (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to an analysis of strategic position of Plzensky Prazdroj, a.s. Theoretic body describes the thought sources of strategy view as a process of searching for a match between opportunities, which stem from the micro environment structure, and internal capabilities, which allow the enterprise to use these opportunities; further, it describes techniques used and characteristics evaluated during the analysis. Practical body applies these techniques upon Plzensky Prazdroj and eventually offers a conclusion on its strategic position and possible future directions of development. Thesis is concluded with several general recommendations on strategy formulation based on the preceding analysis.

Economic Aspects of Public Orders Submitting
Hrdinová, Eva ; Srba, Martin (referee) ; Hromádka, Vít (advisor)
The issue solved in this thesis is the procedure for the award of public contract, which is explored from the perspective of the Act No. 137/3006 Coll., on Public Contracts, as Amended. With the help of latest Amendment No. 55/2012 Coll., number of changes was allocated into the tables. These changes fundamentally modify the view on the Act of Public Contract. Process of the award of public contract is then analyzed and evaluated by the tender dossier, from which the data about qualification requirements and evaluation criteria was drawn. Evaluation is performed using graphs and tables. The result of this thesis is to demonstrate a significant effect of the Amendment on the entire procedure and the decrease of assigned public works contracts with regard to public supply contracts and public service contracts. Future recommendation is to re-amend the Act on Public Contract and try to allow the re-growth of awarded public contracts, and to reclaim significant negative impact of the Amendment.

Particularities of diplomatic and business protocol of Spain
Krejčová, Petra ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Laschoberová, Libuše (referee)
Spain - land of sun and fire, country of dance and singing, country of passion and joy of life, land of horses and bullfighting, land of wine and celebration or country of epic heroes and battles. So, or otherwise, imagine many foreigners this State located on the Iberian Peninsula and representing also the gateway to Latin America. Kingdom of Spain and its culture and traditions have undergone a long evolution and many changes over the centuries and shows the effects of influence not only of European but also Arabian and Indian cultures. These factors significantly affect the Spanish way of trading, the treatment of partners, negotiation or diplomatic and business relations. Although Spain is a part of Europe and since 1986 also a member of the European Union, it still has its specific differences from other European states, which must be taken into account when establishing and maintaining any relationship, whether of business, diplomatic or cultural nature. The goal of my work is, with the help of Spanish literature authors, to characterize the business and diplomatic protocol of Spain and to highlight the most significant differences related to cultural and historical facts. Areas of interest are, for example, the style and methods of negotiation, business etiquette, business and social events, the specificities of royal protocol and other factors of social life, which blend with the world of business and diplomacy. The differences are more pronounced in the area of business, as diplomatic protocol and its rules are governed by international treaties, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations from 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations from 1963, and the differences between countries are less apparent or none. In Spain, this issue is given much attention and many professional publications have come out on similar issues. Professional and informal social etiquette have their strong and respected position here, and with the increasing importance and formality of contacts, their importance is increasing as well. A model and image of the perfect knight of past times has outlasted in a modified form to this day. The role of family and differences in status and roles of men and women can not be ignored. In our country, there are these issues an object of much less interest and often then occurs the failure of negotiations or the failure of business contacts only because of ignorance and misunderstanding. My aim is therefore also to provide a better view of the Spanish country and culture from the perspective of a potential trading partner and enable an easier understanding of the Spanish way of life, thinking and the resulting negotiations. The potential of the country for our manufacturers and retailers is big and successful penetration of the Spanish market may also be the first step into the business waters of Latin America.

Income from operations -- the comparison of the Czech legislation with the US GAAP regulations
Horváth, Miroslav ; Randáková, Monika (advisor)
In my bachelor work called "Income from operations -- the comparison of the Czech legislation with the US GAAP regulations" I have focused on the question of reporting of the income from operations according to two different accounting systems. I have chosen the US GAAP because of their unique position in the world. There are notable differences between Czech and American income from operations, such as different view of recognition of the expenses and of the revenue. Very significant difference is also activation. It is related to the expenses classification used in Czech Republic. There is not such a concept in the American system. Another difference is in the form of income from operation. In Czech Republic it is fixed, while in USA it is not fixed and it is modified with reference to the significance of items. In our time of globalization, all of the systems influence each other and there is an intention of merging. Therefore it is important to take into consideration other systems, try to learn pluses and to include them into the Czech accounting system.

Strukturní a funkční studie vybraných mutantů haloalkan dehalogenasy DhaA
STSIAPANAVA, Alena
Structural biology is one of the most quickly growing fields of research in life sciences. X-ray diffraction analysis is the technique that allows direct visualization of protein structure at the atomic or near-atomic level. Structure solution of proteins and protein complexes by X-ray crystallography provides important insights into their mode of action. The haloalkane dehalogenase proteins represent objects of interest for protein engineering studies, attempting to improve their catalytic efficiency or broaden their substrate specificity towards environmental pollutants. In the present study, the structures of three haloalkane dehalogenase DhaA mutants DhaA04, DhaA14 and DhaA15 at atomic resolution are reported and compared to explore the effect of mutations on the enzymatic activity of modified proteins from a structural perspective. Besides that, in this work, the crystallization and initial X-ray diffraction characterization of DhaA wild type and its mutant variant DhaA13 in complex with environmental pollutant 1,2,3-trichloropropane and the crystallization of DhaA13 in complex with the fluorescence dye coumarin are described.

Romany community in Vsetin
Růžičková, Alena ; Sadílková, Helena (advisor) ; Červenka, Jan (referee)
The Bachelor Thesis Roma Community of Vsetín is concerned with migration of the Roma from Slovakia to Vsetín after WWII. It is particularly focused on the first two waves of migration. The first wave of Roma migration from Western Slovakia and the City of Košice was spontaneous and its main motivation was to find a stable and paid employment. This migration took place within an extended time span from 1945 until late 1950s. The second immigration wave was more vigorous; Roma families from a settlement near the village of Bystrany, in the district of Spišská Nová Ves, were resettled following the Government decision no. 502/1965. The thesis is concerned with the ideological concept of dispersion and it discusses the reasons of its failure. The thesis also outlines further development of the Roma community in Vsetín. Apart from written sources and the material provided by the District Archive, the author worked withthe methods of oral history. The text is supplemented with testimonies of Roma narrators, which were modified minimally and which provide an insight into their view of the recent past. Keywords Roma Community, Gipsy Population, District of Vsetín, Village Bystrany, Migration, Oral History

Population (and) national policy of the People's Republic of China towards ethnic minorities
Horálek, Adam ; Šatava, Leoš (advisor) ; Pargač, Jan (referee)
This study deals with relations between ethnic issue of China on the one hand and the population (and) national policy on the other. The essen-tial issue is whether the ethnic categories are exactly based on ethnic consciousness or if they are more of a politically modified construct. This study does not aspire to judge whether or not it is such case, but rather to put forward many arguments for and against this statement. The important thing that must be discussed is terminology concerning the essential concept- minzu. To correlate minzu with any in-Europe- practiced ethnological terminology is disputable, especially because of the diametric distinctions between both regions. Although the tempo-rarily used terminology has its roots in Stalinist conception of "natsion-alnost", different components must also be pointed out. The results of the research on Sino-Tibetan borderland and its ethnic minorities are used to support the documentation of the issue as applied on the whole People's Republic of China (PRC). Nonetheless, this work is out of any micro regional analysis, due to its more theoretical focus. In accordance with this theme, it was necessary to work in interdiscipli-nary point of view based mostly (except for ethnology, of course) on geography, demography, sinology and cartography. Due to this...
