Intercultural communication focusing on the Czech - German Cooperation

The first part focuses on the theoretical knowledge required for the research part of the Bachelor's Thesis. This section defines basic concepts of this work as communication and culture. This section focuses primarily on the specification of intercultural communication between Czechs and Germans, to established cultural standards and their comparisons. The second part of is focused on the practical application of theoretical knowledge in the previous section. The main objective of this work is to identify from personal experience of respondents how they look on the opposite culture, whether is during the development of both cultures any change in the established cultural standards and where they produce the most common problems in communication. Research method is direct electronic questioning Czech and German respondents to complement and extend previous method is used the method of personal interview. The result of the research is in the confirmed or disproved hypotheses, which are summarized in the conclusion, together with my own opinion on the subject thesis.

Czech and German cultural standards from the exchange students' point of view

This thesis deals with the subject of Czech and German cultural standards and the way they influence the daily lives of exchange students. The main objective lies in the abstraction and definition of cultural standards of this specific target group. The theoretical part introduces different approaches to the term culture and further describes two main concepts of cultural studies -- the methodology of cultural dimensions and cultural standards. The practical part opens with an introduction to German history, economy and points out the leading role that this country has in the international relationships. Following is the list of possibilities for exchange study programmes at the University of Economics and the summary of activities that are organized by the International Studies Centre. Most importantly, this part sums up the results of the research I did among the exchange students from the Czech Republic and Germany. Further, I compare the results of my research with the conclusions reached by Ivan Nový. In the conclusion there is a set of recommendations for the exchange students that should ease their first contact with a foreign culture.

Comparison of Czech-German and Czech-Austrian cultural standards with emphasis on business negotiation

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to indentify German and Austrian cultural standards and the second aim is to confirm or disprove the given hypotheses. The first part is theoretical and defines the theoretical basis of this topic. It deals with Czech-German and Czech-Austrian business relationship. Then it describes the main aspects of culture, cultural dimensions and standards. The practical part describes the chosen methodology, which were interviews mostly with Czech business representatives who trade with Germany and Austria. In the last part the research and the given hypotheses are evaluated. The thesis is recommended as study material for business representatives who will be in contact with Germans or Austrians.

Australia´s cultural standards

The first part of the thesis deals with the concept of culture, its elements and problems which may arise between two cultures. Then I mention the elements on which compare culture Hofstede, Trompenaars and Thomas. The second part focus on general information about Australia and then on characteristics of Australian culture mentioned in the literature. In the last part, I analyze how the Czechs perceive Australian culture on the basis of survey. The end of the thesis includes advice and recommendations on how to deal with the Australian cultural specifics.

American corporate culture

The objective of this thesis is to characterize the corporate culture of the United States, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, taking into account some specific U.S. companies. The entire thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is solely theoretical and its purpose is to familiarize the reader with the most basic terms connected with this topic (i.e. culture, national culture, corporate culture, etc.). The second chapter deals with the specific typologies and theories of national and corporate culture. The third subsequent chapter analyzes both the relationship between national and corporate culture, as well as the comparison of Czech and American culture. On top of thar, the Hofstede's and Trompenaars's dimensions are used in this chapter to help highlight the differences but also common features of both nations. The fourth chapter is devoted to the American corporate culture, focusing on its connection with corporate identity, the importance of code of ethics and the portrayal of the work environment and employment process in the United States. The final fifth chapter contains the analysis of information obtained from interviews with employees of four U.S. based companies, as well as of the FBI agency.

Communication of corporate values

The thesis focuses on corporate culture and corporate values and it's communication to employees and clients of the ČSOB company. In the theoretical part will be explained the concepts of corporate culture, it's characteristics and elements as well as the contribution for the company. There are also explained the concepts of corporate values and code of ethics. Another integral part is the field of communication. The practical part focuses on the corporate culture, values of CSOB and the analysis of it's communication. On the basis of this analysis is proposed the way of communication of the new corporate values.

Inculturation of the Gospel in Vincent de Paul's Spirituality into the life of 17th century France

ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE Enculturation of the gospel of Vincent de Paul's spirituality into the life of 17th century France The text is divided into four parts. The first part concerns the historical and religious framework of the French society in 16th and 17th century, which is the period connected with the efforts to restore the spiritual and moral life of the society. The second part is dedicated to the life and work of Vincent de Paul, the initiator of the spirituality, a great reformer of the internal restoration of the Church in 17th century and the main patron saint of all charity works. The next part specifies the terms spirituality, culture and enculturation to help us understand the importance of the charity societies development for communication between the Church and various social groups on the level appropriate to their understanding. The last part describes specifically the enculturation of the gospel and spirituality of Vincent de Paul in the work of the Congregation of Priests of the Mission, the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity and the Ladies of Charity. The three main virtues as the columns of the spirituality are discussed: humility, chastity and attendance as the demonstration of active love. The Culture of Speech in Adolescents

Voice plays an important role in the life of man. Its correct use depends on various situational contexts as well as on human personality. The quality of voice is directly connected with the quality of oral expression. An important aspect to be considered when discussing the issue of voice (vocal expression) is psyche. The quality of voice is influenced by the general life attitude. When the problems typical for the age of adolescence are taken into account, teenagers apparently belong to those whose vocal health can be easily harmed. The research has proved the obvious connection between musical education and the relation to the issue of voice. Moreover, the correlation between voice cultivation and the style of oral expression, specifically the use of standard Czech, has also been confirmed. The use of standard Czech language positively influences the awareness of voice using. According to the research findings, the quality of voice is closely connected to the meaning of spoken word. The relation between voice quality and psyche has also been proved.
