Eating Habits of High School Students

(in English) Aims: The aim of the diploma thesis was to monitor the eating habits of students from chosen high school which is located in Prague. These habits were taken into consideration with regards to social aspects of food and the causes of overweight and obesity. Methods: Qualitative research was used as the default method to determine the objective of the thesis. Based on literature review the survey was created. The respondents subjectively evaluated a set of questions relating to food and eating habits. Results: According to the findings, a major impact on eating habits of high school students has a family in general or household, in which students live. Cooking trend at home plays an important role, even when talking about boom in eating at restaurants and fast foods. Regardless of household income, students are used to really eat most often at home (breakfast and dinner) and at school (lunch). As for eating habits, respondents, from the vast majority, do not pay any attention to this process. And even if the results of the research showed that a large majority of students think they eat healthily, then less than half of them is not satisfied with own weight. (in English): The focus of this thesis is to examine Korean customs, manners and etiquette within the life cycle. The aim of this work is not to describe the various rituals from either anthropological or sociological perspective, but to overview customs, rituals and social etiquette rules which that accompany these rituals. The work is divided into four main chapters, including a general description of Korean society, childbirths, wedding ceremonies and finally death and ancestor worship.
Russian and Czech Folk Traditions at Christmas Time

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and detailed description of the basic holidays of the civil year in winter period of time. It also contains the study of the most popular folk traditions, religious rituals and beliefs of the Slavs from Advent till Christmastide or Christmas season. The historical background of the adoption of Christianity in the territory of the Czech Republic and Russia and the way how Christian church influenced on the origin of fundamental traditions and rituals has also been taken into consideration. There is also a description of the way the major Slavonic holidays are held. The thesis deals with such religious and secular holidays as Christmas, Advent, New Year, Christmas season, Epiphany and other traditional holidays.
Customs of Muslim Family in the Czech Republic

The thesis "Customs of Muslim family in Czech Republic" is focused on the traditions and customs of Muslim family from the point of view of young Muslims who live in the Czech Republic, concretely in Prague. In the opening chapters islam, its origin and five principles of Islamic religion are introduced. Family, marriage, Muslim traditions, customs, feasts, ceremonies, celebrations and nourishment are emphasised in the following chapters. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, history od Islam and Muslims in Europe and Bohemian countries is mentioned and Muslim congregation and Islamic nadation in Prague are introduced as well. Second part of the thesis consists of empirical research. Methods and aims of the research are defined. Respondents and the analysis of data are described as well. Modern Weddings in Belgrade and Prague

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to show contemporary wedding customs in Belgrade and Prague on the background of typical Old Serbian and Old Czech wedding. The thesis primarily thoroughly deals with the characterization of wedding customs which lasted to this day and therefore became a part of modern weddings. Simultaneously it tries to depict similarities and differences in traditions of both of the described regions. The method of describing the modern marriage culture is based primarily on analysis of traditional wedding components and at the same time is interspersed with results of the questionnaire survey. The analysis shows that even though many of the old customs preserved they are being often practiced in an altered form and some of them even lost their original meaning and character.
Life in the Slovak village in the 19th century

This work centers on the traditional way of life in a Slovak village in the 19th century. It primarily shows the position of people in the family and the community life of the village. From a historical perspective, the work follows the changes that occurred in village society after the collapse of the feudal system and the transition to a capitalistic one which led to changes in the traditional life of the villagers. The main part of this work aims to describe the traditions, customs and irrational superstitions associated with the major phases of human life such as birth, childhood, youth, marriage and death. At the same time, it also tries to capture the transformation with the rising of capitalism that influenced well established traditions. Traditions of Czech Merano

The reason why I choose this topic was the fact that I haven't managed to find any comprehensive overview of local traditions and habits and also that I have been living in this area all my life and so I have many findings of my own to use. There are new traditions raising in recent years and also some of the old ones are beeing revived. The aim of this thesis is to discover and note the traditions, which were held in the past and also the traditions that are new. At first we look at the Czech Merano area, describe it's nature characteristics, history and some of the famous people, who came from there. Then there is a list of concrete traditions split into groups by its type - from the historical traditions based on folk and christian holidays to the modern ones. It also reminds some of the extincted traditions. There also is a remark of the local chronicle, which has been an important source of information. In the conclusion there is a short notice about the contribution of this work and some of the possibilities of it's utilization in practice.
Changes of Customs and Traditions on the Example of Vietnameses in the Czech Republic

Task of this thesis is to chart changes of customs and traditions on the example of Vietnameses living in the Czech Republic. Aim is also to find out if Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic is more influenced by Vietnamese culture or by local culture. In theoretical part, important concepts related to this theme are described. It is primarily migration, integration and cultural specifics of Vietnameses. Analytical part interprets results of research which are classified into several areas, these areas include both point of view at the Czech Republic and Vietnam as well as customs, traditions and Vietnamese culture in general. The thesis is based on qualitative research during which half-structuralized interviews with 15 Vietnameses living in the Czech Republic were accomplished.

The bachelor thesis is focused on folk traditions and habits in the Vysočina region. In the theoretical part there are explained related terms. The practical part of the thesis is focused on research of folk traditions in the Vysočina region. The purpose of the thesis is to identify the potential of tourism in the selected areas with an emphasis on traditions and habits in the areas. Based on the field investigation, the possibility of using traditions and habits in tourism products are determine . This thesis is also aimed at designing a product of tourism that would improve conditions for keeping local traditions and habits.

The aim of the thesis is highlight the importance of folk culture for development of tourism. On the basis of the results of the survey suggest the possibility of better and more efficient use of the potential of folk culture in Mohelno and the subsequent creation of the tourism product, which will increase the attractiveness of the area.
