Pauzová, Tereza ; Soukup, Martin (advisor) ; Hodboď, Vojtěch (referee)
The Bachelor Thesis "Forming and perceiving youth identity across the online and offline social space" describes the approach of youth to social networking sites, the forming of youth identity and the way knowledge gained from online social space is reflected in offline social space. The aim of the thesis is to answer the following questions: How do youth form their own identity on social networking sites? How do they perceive others' identity, and do they think that the online and offline social spaces are connected? The theoretical part aims to describe the main concepts that are linked with youth, social networking sites and identity. Furthermore, existing knowledge connected to this issue is introduced. This includes e.g. information linked with internet use, youth's online activities, possible risks connected to the use of internet, ways to form and perceive identity and current knowledge about the interconnection or disconnection of online and offline social spaces. In the practical part I strive to answer the previous questions through qualitative research. The chosen method is a semi- structured interview which is then analyzed by using thematic analysis and a priori coding. The result of this thesis is a more comprehensive view of the issue of youth's use of social networking sites.

The Master's thesis Network analysis of the self-presentation of users on the social media platform Facebook.com focuses on the different ways of self-presentation and behavior of the users on the Facebook.com. The central theme of the thesis is the analysis of the self- presentation tools used by users to construct their virtual identities. The emphasis is also put on the dramaturgical concept of Erving Goffman, which is also the basic theory for this empirical research. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a difference between the so-called virtual and real user identity and to point out the existence of the so-called ideal self. The research consists of two parts and combines two research methods. In the first part of the research, there are analysed all the data obtained by qualitative in-depth interview. This data is then used in the following network analysis of the content of their Facebook profiles. This network analysis is the main outcome of this thesis. In the conclusion, the findings obtained during the research are presented and at the same time they are compared with previous researches dealing with this topic.
Self-presentation of Young Adults on the Instagram
Broďáková, Apolena ; Wladyniak, Ludmila Maria (advisor) ; Mitrenga, David (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of self-presentation of young adults on the Instagram. The aim of this work is to explain how the process of self-presentation takes place and how it differs from self-presentation in real life. The work is based on the dramaturgical approach of Erving Goffman, which is expanded by the look of Joshua Meyrowitz, i.e. the influence of electronic media, which is presented in the theoretical part. The practical part is based on qualitative research. The research was conducted using semi-structured photo- elicitation interviews, which were analyzed by using a combination of closed and open coding. Based on these interviews, an analysis was conducted that concludes that self-presentation on Instagram's social network differs from that in real life in that it is more thoughtful and artificial, individuals share their photos depending on the responses which they receive from others. The spontaneity of everyday interactions is omitted, and the individuals presents themselves as a product, not as their identity.

MARTINOVSKÁ, Soňa
The aim of the dissertation is to present a set of memoirs preserved in Pilsen from the late 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Furthermore, it intends to incorporate these writings into a broader context within the research of personal sources. Therefore, the first chapter deals with the history of these sources as subjects of research interest and the possibilities of their use. In terms of methodology, the thesis wants to carry out a comprehensive analysis of a representative sample of these sources. At the same time, it assesses the internal and external features of the texts, but also addresses the life stories of individual authors and tries to reveal their possible motivations for the creation of these writings. Additionally, the dissertation seeks to compare the selected memoirs, especially in terms of their nature and content. It focuses on different methods of self-presentation of writers through these works and on the consolidation of their identities through recorded narratives. But it also deals with the ways of depicting the city of Pilsen and the changes in everyday life in its streets as well as with the reflection of major political events in the compared writings. Overall, the submitted thesis tries to contribute to a deeper understanding of the problematic and diverse era of modern history and to reveal the thought-world and behaviour of people at that time.
Psychological aspects of Instagram
TRPKOVÁ, Dominika
The bachelor thesis deals with the current topic of psychological impacts of social networks, namely the influence of Instagram on the perception of Self. The thesis uses the design of a theoretical study devoted to the analysis of current foreign studies, which primarily deal with the importance of using Instagram to reflect its own self-image and the degree of its influence on changes in satisfaction with one's body. Another important theoretical part was the research focused on narcissism as a personality trait often referred to as one of the key motives for increased activity on social networks. The last thematic area deals with the results of research on self-presentation on Instagram, namely both the strategies of the presentation itself and the social perception of others. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to introduce the basics of the psychological perspective on the influence of social networks (specifically Instagram as a means of self-presentation) on the individual, the partial goal was to describe the methodology of social network research. The analysis shows the methodological diversity of the used approaches and the ambiguity of the results. However, there is evidence of the influence of media and social networks on the perception of our physical ideal and there is evidence of the influence of narcissism on sharing and adding self-presenting photos to Instagram.
