Computational Analysis of SI 3-Cylinder In-line Engine Piston
Špaček, František ; Svída, David (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with a mechanical and thermal analysis of 3-cylinder petrol engine piston with capacity of 1,2 l and maximal output 47 kW. The computation analysis was created with the use of finite element method in the Ansys application. The strain solution was created using several techniques. The 3D model was made according to a real piston in the Pro/Engineer and was partly simplified for computation. Crank mechanism forces and the load stresses were solved using Mathcad. Calculations are done for three positions of power cycle engine, where the maximal loads of the piston are expected. Last part of the thesis is calculation of safety factor highcyclical fatigue made using Femfat application.
The pistons of four-stroke engines and their application
Jelínek, David ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Dlugoš, Jozef (advisor)
This thesis deals with historical development of pistons for four-stroke combustion engines and their application for machines using both diesel and petrol fuel. The beginning explains how the four-stroke combustion engines works and what role the piston plays that. The following is about the description of the individual parts of the piston, the important attribute the piston should have and how the piston is loaded by the forces in the combustion process. The next part deals with the historical development of the piston, especially in the first half of the 20th century, when the combustion engines had the greatest rise. In this chapter are summarized the design methods, the types of material and the Wankel engine. Below is a summary of the modern methods of producing pistons, their types of use, types of materials, coatings and cooling methods.
Aircraft Engines till the End of WWII
Falta, Libor ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with aircraft piston engines until end Second World War. Thesis surveys about known, the most use and non-traditional types of engines in timeline. At the beginning it deals about history of aviation and the first use of piston engine as power source energy for controlled flight. There are high requirements on aircraft piston engines. Improving construction and increasing output of engines. In every chapter typical construction and the most powerful engines of the period are described. Thesis includes influence of both World Wars and some prestigious racings, which considerably accelerated global development. Explain the limit for increase output of piston aircraft engines in the last part.
Crank mechanism of in-line four-cylinder spark ignition engine
Marek, Petr ; Rauscher, Jaroslav (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Objective of this bachelor’s thesis is for given geometric, thermodynamic and operation parameters cylindrical unit of in-line four-cylinder spark ignition engine perform calculation of thermodynamic cycle, project basic proportion of piston group and for given operation modes perform strength check of connecting-rod eye. In the introduction is described ordinary use of spark ignition engines, several details of history of their evolution and present most widly used construction. Major text of bachelor’s thesis attend to four main chapters: description of thermodynamic cycle, calculation of forces reacting to piston, strength calculation and check of piston pin and of connecting-rod eye. Supplement consists of accomplishment of these calculations and a few of graphs. In the conclusion is evaluation of performed calculations and there are mentioned technological directions of present evolution of gas-engine.
Surface Treatment Methods of ICE Piston Rings
Hora, Otakar ; Maršálek, Ondřej (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on surface treatments of piston rings. The first part focuses on piston rings in general and their operating status. The second part focuses on the materials and technologies, characteristics and properties of surface treatments of the working area of piston rings. The final part contains the comparison of currently used surface treatments of piston rings.
Piston group of in-line four-cylinder gasoline engine
Král, Stanislav ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The aim of the thesis, it is strength control group of ordinary four-cylinder piston gasoline engine. In the first part of the specified thermodynamic, geometric and operational parameters of the motor piston group will calculate the thermodynamic cycle. Furthermore, we see the effects of force acting on the piston group in the most strained moments of the cycle. For the reconstructed load piston group perform voltage control in piston pin and strength control rods of the eye. In conclusion, we compare the calculated values of permissible stress values and find a design safety factor for the part.
Piston for 485kW 4-stroke CI-engine
Gregor, Ondřej ; Dundálek, Radim (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This bachelor’s work deal with proposal piston for four - stroke truck Diesel engine. Aim work is determine principal dimensions piston, motor and crank mechanism. Work saam deal with strenght calculation, in order to piston safely work all the time its service life.
The Concept of In-line Injection Pump for 120 MPa Pressures
Tichý, Ondřej ; Štěpánek, Karel (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis provides an overall evaluation of the concept of inline injection pump for pressure 120 MPa. The name of this pump is "Mj" and it is a product of the Motorpal, a.s. company. This thesis also contains an analysis of the contact pressures between the cam lobe and the pumping element's roller tappet. This includes comparing three different shapes of the roller and their influence on the magnitude of contact pressures. Calculations of the plunger helix and of the fuel delivery's impact on the relative position of plunger are also present.
Engines for Le Mans Series
Herman, Pavel ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the overview of development the drive units, which are used by racing cars of Le Mans endurance series, mainly the race 24 hours of Le Mans. In the first part is outlined the general characteristic the series and the race 24 hours of Le Mans itself. There are briefly described the instructions and the most important technological limitations, observed by designers. The second part contains an owerview of racing cars engines, which are interesting from the historical point of view either by their construction or by achieved success. The last part is devoted to the constructional comparison of drive units of present participants the Le Mans series, their description and the important technical specifications.
Electron beam welding of parts made from aluminium alloy
Jirák, David ; Jakoubek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
The topic of this thesis was ordered by Valeo Compressor Humpolec Itd (further referred to as Valeo). It deals with the electron welding of a component made of an aluminium alloy, a piston specifically, which is made for an automobile air-conditioning compressor. The aim of this thesis was to analyze and suggest a way of increasing porosity of the welded area. The data needed for the analysis and the present state of the welded area was provided by Valeo.
