Detection of atrial fibrillation using ECG Signals
Běhunčíková, Vendula ; Ronzhina, Marina (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common cardiac rhythm disorders. The prevalence of atrial fibrillation is reported at 1-6 % of the adult population. The chances of developing atrial fibrillation increase with age. An early detection of this arrhythmia is a key to prevent more serious conditions. Many ways have been found to detect atrial fibrillation episodes in ECG including deep learning methods. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to describe the problem of atrial fibrillation and the methods used for detection in the ECG record, design an atrial fibrillation detector and test its results. Detector is implemented using a Matlab R2020b software.
The impact of positive inotropic and antiarrhythmic drugs on cardiovascular system
Kočková, Radka ; Linhart, Aleš (advisor) ; Janoušek, Jan (referee) ; Štengl, Milan (referee)
Heart rate changes mediate the embryotoxic effect of antiarrhythmic drugs in the chick embryo A significant increase in cardiovascular medication use during pregnancy has occurred in recent years but only limited evidence on its safety profile is available. We hypothesized that drug-induced bradycardia is the leading mechanism of developmental toxicity. We tested metoprolol, carvedilol, or ivabradine for embryotoxicity and their acute effect on chick embryonic model. We used video microscopy and ultrasound biomicroscopy. Significant dose-dependent mortality was achieved in embryos injected with carvedilol and ivabradine. In ED4 embryos, metoprolol, carvedilol and ivabradine reduced the heart rate by 33%, 27%, and 55%, respectively, compared to controls (6%). In ED8 embryos this effect was more pronounced with a heart rate reduction by 71%, 54%, 53%, respectively (controls 36%). Cardiac output decreased in all tested groups but only proved significant in the metoprolol group in ED8 embryos. The number of -adrenergic receptors showed a downward tendency during embryonic development but a negative chronotropic effect of tested drugs was increasingly pronounced with embryonic maturity. This effect was associated with reduced cardiac output in chick embryos, probably leading to premature death....

Pulse check in pharmacies I Author: Michaela Frnková Supervisor: PharmDr. Kateřina Malá, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Anna Rejmanová, Ph.D. De artment o ocial an linical Pharmac , Fac lt o Pharmac in ra ec Králov , harle University Introduction: Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common supraventricular disorders of the heart rhythm. Unless properly treated, it leads to higher mortality and morbidity rates. Early detection of such fibrillation, which is often asymptomatic, may prevent further associated complications, especially ischemic stroke, and a sudden cardiac death. Aim: The thesis focused on the feasibility of involving pharmacists in the screening of the patients with heart rhythm disorders. Further increase awareness of the possibilities and meaning of monitoring heart rhythm disorders in pharmacies and ensure that patients can verify their own heart rate at home. Methods: The heart rhythm measurements were carried within four weeks (11/2017; 11/2018; 6/2019; 12/2019), during the global health initiative "Know o r l e". Mea ring took place at the pharmacy in Pardubice; the pharmacy offers individual consultations to patients. Participation in the screening for the atrial fibrillation was offered to all incoming pharmacy persons who were older than 40 years and without chronic...
ECG based atrial fibrillation detection
Prokopová, Ivona ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Ronzhina, Marina (advisor)
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common cardiac rhythm disorders characterized by ever-increasing prevalence and incidence in the Czech Republic and abroad. The incidence of atrial fibrillation is reported at 2-4 % of the population, but due to the often asymptomatic course, the real prevalence is even higher. The aim of this work is to design an algorithm for automatic detection of atrial fibrillation in the ECG record. In the practical part of this work, an algorithm for the detection of atrial fibrillation is proposed. For the detection itself, the k-nearest neighbor method, the support vector method and the multilayer neural network were used to classify ECG signals using features indicating the variability of RR intervals and the presence of the P wave in the ECG recordings. The best detection was achieved by a model using a multilayer neural network classification with two hidden layers. Results of success indicators: Sensitivity 91.23 %, Specificity 99.20 %, PPV 91.23 %, F-measure 91.23 % and Accuracy 98.53 %.
Deep Neural Network for Detection of Atrial Fibrillation
Budíková, Barbora ; Ronzhina, Marina (referee) ; Hejč, Jakub (advisor)
Atrial fibrillation is an arrhythmia commonly detected from ECG using its specific characteristics. An early detection of this arrhythmia is a key to prevention of more serious conditions. Nowadays, atrial fibrillation detection is being implemented more often using deep learning. This work presents detection of atrial fibrillation from 12lead ECG using deep convolutional network. In the first section, there is a theoretical context of this work, then there is a description of proposed algorithm. Detection is implemented by a program in Python in two variations and their accuracy is rated by Accuracy and F1 measure. Results of the work are being discussed, mutually compared and compared to other similar publications.
Using of non-invasive cardiac imaging for precise evaluation of atrium size and prediction of atrial wall fibrosis in patients with atrial fibrillation
Fingrová, Zdeňka ; Havránek, Štěpán (advisor) ; Kittnar, Otomar (referee) ; Skála, Tomáš (referee)
Atrial fibrillation is the most prevalent arrhythmia worldwide and remains one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality. Atrial fibrillation is an arrhythmia that has a various etiology and takes number of clinical forms. Due to the heterogenity of atrial fibrillation, it is necessary to individualize the optimal treatment strategy, ie conservative pharmacological therapy or interventional therapy as catheter ablation. Inncorrect indication of catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation leads to low success rate of the procedure and increases the risk of the procedure. The success rate of catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation depends on many clinical parameters, including the size and volume of the left atrium and the presence of pathological tissue in the atrial myocardium. In everyday practice, echocardiography (2D-echocardiography) is the most dominant method in estimation of the left atrial parameters, for it's simplicity, non- invasiveness, financial costs and the absence of ionizing radiation. Different methods for assesment of left atrial parameters are cardiac CT, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and methods of 3-D echocardiography or 3-D angiography. The results of the present studies show that in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation who are indicated for catheter...

Ambrožová, Monika ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Ronzhina, Marina (advisor)
Atrial fibrillation is diagnosed in 1-2% of the population, in next decades, it expects a significant increase in the number of patients with this arrhythmia in connection with the aging of the population and the higher incidence of some diseases that are considered as risk factors of atrial fibrillation. The aim of this work is to describe the problem of atrial fibrillation and the methods that allow its detection in the ECG record. In the first part of work there is a theory dealing with cardiac physiology and atrial fibrillation. There is also basic descreption of the detection of atrial fibrillation. In the practical part of work, there is described software for detection of atrial fibrillation, which is provided by BTL company. Furthermore, an atrial fibrillation detector is designed. Several parameters were selected to detect the variation of RR intervals. These are the parameters of the standard deviation, coefficient of skewness and kurtosis, coefficient of variation, root mean square of the successive differences, normalized absolute deviation, normalized absolute difference, median absolute deviation and entropy. Three different classification models were used: support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor (KNN) and discriminant analysis classification. The SVM classification model achieves the best results. Results of success indicators (sensitivity: 67.1%; specificity: 97.0%; F-measure: 66.8%; accuracy: 92.9%).
