Financial impacts of the economic crisis on Czech festivals of classical music

The main objective of this thesis is to map and interpret the financial impacts of the economic crisis on a selected group of classical music cultural events by describing the influence of the possible decline in financial resources on their output and efficiency. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical basis of culture financing and cultural policy in the Czech Republic and sums up the fundamental economic theories of the behaviour of economy during economic crisis, thus providing a starting point for further interpretation of the performance of these organizations. The second part of this thesis comprises qualitative research of possible variables on a representative sample of classical music festivals. The research is carried out through a content analysis of their annual reports and a secondary analysis of other data provided by relevant institutions. The final section of the thesis attempts to evaluate the impact of the economic crisis on the cultural sector, to confirm or disprove the initial premises and to evaluate generally the financial stability of the Czech classical music festivals.
Process of demographic reproduction of population in EU and its economical and social impacts

The main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the economic and social impacts of demographic development in European union. In chapter one basic demographic terms and theories which are connected to current and future situation in the area of development of natality, mortality and their result natural growth of population are described. In the second part of this thesis basic demographic data in areas of natality, mortality and growth of population are explored. Last chapter contains the information about projections of economic implication on the fiscal stability of government budget, implications for individuals and also social implications of current and future demographic development.
Discrimination against women of fertile age on the labour market and its impact on the contemporary Czech economy

This bachelor thesis deals with the status of women in fertile age (25--35 years) when looking for a job on the Czech labor market. The main aim is to primarily verify whether there exists a discrimination against women of observed age group and further explore the economic context of this issue. The theoretical basis consists mainly of relevant legislation, theory of economic discrimination and selected experiments dealing with the statistical discrimination. This thesis also presents an analysis of costs associated with the issue and possible ways of its solution. The investigation itself and the data collection have mainly form of experiment which consists of sending fictitious CV's to the real job offers. Its overall results statistically didn't show any presence of discrimination against women. Nevertheless, it was more frequently discovered, in regions with high unemployment rate, where it reached up to 15 %. All of these facts are researched by means of the questionnaires and interviews. The majority of respondents agree that women are significantly disadventaged on the labour market mainly due to their maternity and paternthood. Effective solution of this issue probably lies in the facilitating the harmonization of work and family life.
Film incentives in the Czech republic

This thesis focuses on film incentives in the Czech republic and conditions of their implementation. The main task is to analyze the effect of state film incentives on volume of film production and to analyze economic effects of film incentives on state economy. The first part describes basic terms connected with film incentives, the way they work and reasons and results of their expansion. In the next part the regulatory impact assessment (RIA) of film incentives made by company EEIP for the Ministry of Culture of the Czech republic is analized. Then empirical analysis conducted with econometric model and linear regression is made to determine the effect of film incentives on volume of film production in the Czech republic. In the next part a critical analysis is used to revise results of the RIA. Along with the revizion of the results, own estimations are calculated. In the final part those estimations and the results of the RIA are both compared with real data.
Economy of sports events

This thesis deals with the topic of the economy of sports events. In The practical part describes three different sports events: Mácháčský pohodář, Jablonecký běh do pohody and Tygří skiatlon. On each of them is demonstrated one of the specific activities leading to the organization of medium-sized sports events (from 100 to 500 participants). The main goal is to reveal (in detail) the issue of the organization, financing and promotion of sports events and thus provide readers with guidance for future events of similar structure. The work is further discussed the issue how to organize the event with the aid of project management. The next task is to analyze and evaluate the economic impact of selected sports events to the region in which it is held. The result of this analysis was finally confirm the hypothesis that medium-sized sports events, in our case Mácháčský pohodář, have a relevant economic impact on the area in which they are organized.
Pharmaceutical Industry in EU: Cooperation and Impact upon Competitiveness

This thesis is dedicated to the potential of pharmaceutical industry targeting an increase in EU world competitiveness. Pharmaceutical industry plays an important role in world economy, both from the social and economic point of view. In particular, this thesis is focused on macroeconomic contribution of pharmaceutical industry into world economy emphasizing the situation of EU. Particularly, the thesis consists of evaluating the situation, importance and barriers of development of pharmaceutical industry in EU and it, also, points out the main directions towards positive development of this sector, including the international and national cooperation. Pharmaceutical industry is the key sector in the EU competitiveness increase.
Impact of economic crisis on the export of the Czech Republic

The goal is to evaluate the impact of economic crisis on the export of Czech Republic. It also analyze the dependencies between selected countries in the export field. The work is based largely on statistical data and methods of statistical analysis (descriptive statistics and graphical outputs). The first outcome of this work is to evaluate the economic interdependence between the Czech Republic and neighboring states. Further, a prediction of the developments in the field of export into the future.
Turkey-another member of the European Union?

The objective of the paper is to assess the economic and political development of the Republic of Turkey from its establishment till present. Another aim of the paper is to answer the question: "What might be possible impacts of turkish accession to the European Union on the Turkish economy?" The first part of the paper addresses the introduction into the issue. The second part-the main part- focuses on the development of the Turkish economy with its main economic indicators. The last part presents the possible impacts of the accession of the Republic of Turkey to the European union in view of the economic issues.

The main chapter is the chapter number four where I examine in detail the effects od euro adoption on the Slovak economy. My research is based on statistical data from 2009.
Reprodukce obyvatelstva v EU: ekonomické důsledky

Bakalářská práce nastiňuje vývoj přirozené reprodukce, tedy procesů porodnosti a úmrtnosti, v Evropské unii a analyzuje jeho možné ekonomické důsledky. Pozornost je věnována především dopadům demografického stárnutí a ubýváni obyvatelstva na trh práce a veřejné výdaje, kdy je zvláštní důraz kladen i na příležitosti, které současným populačním vývojem vznikají. Analýza je doplněna o teoretický rámec vztahu přirozené měny obyvatelstva a ekonomiky státu, diskutována je i reakce EU na fenomén stárnutí.
