The second chapter deals with Prager Abendblatt itself, its history and the characteristics of the media environment it entered. The second chapter provides the readers with the names of the editors-in-chief since 1918 and the most important authors who contributed with their articles to the cultural section during the 1930s. The chapter focuses also on the thematic content of the newspaper and the individual sections. The content before and after the Munich Agreement is compared. This work deals with legal aspects of changes in Czechoslovakia in 1938-1939. Firstly, it outlines the historical background and relationships that were being formed during the First Republic. It further deals, in particular, with the constitutional development in course of so-called Munich crisis, i.e. describes plans for rebuilding of Czechoslovakia, as well as adopted measures and the Munich agreement itself that led to reduction of the territory of the state and liquidation of its political and economic independence. It also deals with development of the Second, post-Munich Republic from both internal and international perspective. Munich days and their reflection in broadcasting
Šubrová, Klára ; Michela, Miroslav (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
The year 1938 was filled with a number of dramatic events, which culminated with the signing of the Munich Agreement in Autumn. The agreement, which was signed in the absence of the representatives of Czecho-Slovakia, was one of the first pieces in the mosaic of Hitler's strategic steps, which eventually led to a global conflict- World War II. Broadcasting was of the utmost importance in the anxiety and chaos of 1938. Right from its birth, broadcasting played an important part in the development of culture and education (including public education). After the signing of the agreement, appeals to citizens replaced educational programmes. The broadcasts were historical, cultural and patriotic in their themes and they also promoted patriotic endeavors. The year 1938 saw very important broadcasts delivered by important Czecho- Slovakian personages, which gave the listeners the chance to participate in the social and political events of the day. I subjected all of the speeches to analysis and so was able to establish their characteristic features. Broadcasting became one of the most influential media of the time, directly communicating important up-to-date information.

Munich agreement and the Versailles system of international relations
Miňovská, Veronika ; Veselý, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Šauer, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the Versailles arrangement of international relations since its establishment at the Paris Peace Conference, through its changes in 20s and 30s, until its final disappearance. I try to argue, in the thesis, that the system's setting served Hitler as a powerful political weapon in negotiations with the Western powers. I seek for deeper clarification of causes leading to the signature of the Munich Agreement and I am also concerned with the policy of appeasement and the system of collective security which failed several times in 30s. Additionally, the thesis has ambition to shed some light on the Sudeten problem, that had been misused in favour of Hitler due to a well-targetted imperial propaganda of uprecedented proportions. Finally, a part of the paper is also devoted to the rise of Nazism in Germany, the circumstances under which it flourished and its later consequences.
