In the empirical part we had done a questionnaire research among the European institutions interpreters. It was then followed by interviews with three interpreters, in which we tried to clarify more complicated problems and to extend the questionnaire research. The research focuses on strategies of adding new working languages and on ways used for studying the Czech language. We also verified the possible problematic areas in interpreting that had been defined in the theoretical part. In the interviews we touched upon deeper causes of some problems, also we discussed some possible solutions to these problems....

Taitlová, Eliška ; Zvoníčková, Marie (advisor) ; Otava, Zdeněk (referee)
For a long time I am interested in the issue of patients terminally ill and dying, especially in the context of palliative and hospice care. In this work, first I present the anatomy and physiology of the prostate gland / prostate cancer, the pathophysiological basis of prostate cancer, diagnosis and treatment options, and basic patient data, all in the clinical part. The nursing section deals with the idea of palliative medicine and hospice care specifics, according to which the patient was maintained throughout the nursing process. In drawing up the plan of care, I focused on searching for current and potential patient problems and their effective solutions. I lined nursing problems / diagnoses according to priorities. For each diagnosis, I identified the target, which should realistically be achieved and accordingly determine the appropriate nursing interventions. In conclusion, I assess the process and outcome enrolled. Nursing section concludes psychological evaluation and patient education. In the end, work is a list of reference books and other sources, abbreviations,...

Improving and extending the multiple sequence alignment suite PRALINE
Hudeček, Jan ; Petříčková, Zuzana (referee) ; Mráz, František (advisor)
The aim of this work is to study potential improvements in the core routines of multiple sequence alignment suite PRALINE. A general overview of multiple sequence alignment methods used with emphasis on representation of the alignment core is given. A new option for aligning sequence profiles was implemented and its usefulness assessed. This option allows a user to input a profile which is used in an advanced phase of the progressive protocol as if it was a result of the previous steps. Two new protocols using profile Hidden Markov models (HMM) and their alignment were implemented and tested. The HMMGUIDE protocol creates for each sequence a preprofile consisting of segments of other sequences with high local similarity. HMM is generated from each preprofile by HMMER, and alignment of every pair is scored by PRC. The protocol then progressively aligns the sequence whose HMMs achieved the best score. The PRCALIGN protocol works similarly but aligns the sequences according to the best alignment of the HMMs. While not all test alignments were finished successfully for both protocols, the results constitute a statistically significant improvement over the original PRALINE protocol.

Application For Task Management Support
Varadinov, Petr ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Tichý, Vladimír (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the development of an application for task management support in a company environment, in a quality assurance department. The goal of the thesis is to analyze and develop an object oriented design of the application with flexibility and options of use in mind together with a relative simple solution. The sense of aim is to prepare for a fluent and smooth implementation and to put in operation successfully. The development is being led on an agile basis. Basic principles have been taken from OpenUP methodology. The thesis completes the project documentation and brings a very flexible solution of the defined problem, which enables the general conception of the application as a tool for the task management support, not only a tool for the testing support. There are six chapters. The first three chapters introduce the problem definition and its analysis. Chapter 4 deals with the solution design. At the end you can find the summary of the achieved results during the development and project prospect.

Options for preventing obesity of children 12 to 15 years
STUDNIČKOVÁ, Marika
At present, obesity ranks as one of the most frequent metabolic diseases caused by multiple factors. According to epidemiologic surveys, prevalence is on the increase, in particular in developed countries. It is also widely known that obesity in child age predetermines obesity in adulthood, when it is accompanied with increased risk of cardiac and metabolic complications. The present bachelor thesis engages in possibilities of prevention of obesity for children from 12 to 15 years of age. The theoretical part summarizes the most significant findings that relate to the aforesaid problems. The practical part focuses on the research conducted in issues of obesity. The authoress examines prevalence of obesity, eating habits of pupils or students, ways of spending free time and physical activities of children. The research applied a quantitative method. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire distributed to elementary school pupils, in the age category of 12 - 15 years, within the range of 7th to 9th elementary school years. The main objective of the thesis was to ascertain how obesity affects a child?s life. A partial objective consisted in mapping the eating habits of children belonging to the older school age, and discovering to what extent physical activity acts on a child?s life. These objectives have been met. From the analysed sample of respondents, their BMIs were calculated and recorded in a percentile graph. The results revealed that 7.2 respondents suffer from obesity and 16.8 % children are overweight. Most of the children from the analysed sample have built up bad eating habits. Almost one third of the respondents attends no sports clubs and spends doing physical activities fewer than two hours per week.

Urinary Inkontinence as a Stress Faktor on Seniors- Women
MARŠÍKOVÁ, Jana
Abstract Urinary incontinence is involuntary leakage of urine, which causes medical, psychological, social and hygienic problems. Incontinence is a common problem of senior age and influences all fields of women´s life. Almost every senior woman has some kind of experience with this issue, either personal or linked to someone she knows. This thesis deals with causes of incontinence origin, its diagnostics and treatment possibilities. The aim was to find out whether incontinence influences mental condition of senior women and if so, in which way the problems connected with the incontinence are present. The thesis further examines how senior women cope with information about their problems, whether they have sufficient information and whether the information is understandable. It is also important to know what the modern-day options for treatment of this problem are, and whether senior women are willing to undergo the procedures and examinations. The thesis also deals with the question whether senior women have sufficiency of incontinency aids, whether they are satisfied with the nursing care and whether their privacy during sanitation is satisfactory. The survey shows that senior women are stressed by urine leakage, they reduce their activities, socially isolate themselves, are dissatisfied with the quantity of the incontinency aids, limit the fluid intake. The finding, that senior women are not much interested in receiving more information, in further detailed examinations, or in pelvic muscle rehabilitation, was surprising. It has been proven that doctors offer mainly pharmacological and compensational treatment to senior women. Regarding the privacy issue, it has been proven that senior women are satisfied with the nursery care and have adapted to the lack of privacy. It resulted from the survey that nurses do not have enough professional information for education of senior women. Elaboration of a new educational plan for the Senior House clients and nurses working in the facility is the output of this thesis.
