Cognitive Functions Assessment of Patients in Senior Age, Special Tests
Vostrá, Klára ; Čábelková, Veronika (referee) ; Volfová, Hana (advisor)
My Bachelor thesis deals with examination of cognitive functions at seniors by specialized tests. This study focuses on two screening tests finding a state of cognitive functions. These tests are MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination) and MEAMS (The Middlesex Elderly Assessment of Mental State). My objective was examination of both the tests on a group of seniors, to find out positives and negatives of each test, to analyze them and to get information about what the test reveals a particular person. Collection of data took place at institution for seniors during my five weeks long practice. My other objective was creation of anonymous questionnaire for ergonomic therapists in the Czech Republic which was supposed to map awareness of the test MEAMS and its method of examination of cognitive functions.. The theoretical part gives information about particular tests, cognitive functions, types of dementia at seniors most often existing and explains concepts like aging, old age, aging of population. In the practical part there is methodology of casuistry of three seniors at who both screening tests were performed. Then there are results of the questionnaire for ergonomic therapists and in the end there is shown the connection between the questionnaire and the casuistries. With the questionnaire I found out that...

MES Solution in Food Company: Analysis and Expansion Proposal
Soukup, Milan ; Basl, Josef (advisor) ; Fortinová, Jana (referee)
The effective use of information system MES (Manufacturing Execution System) in the food company is the main topic of this master's thesis. The modularly built system provides valuable support of the production process on operational level. The thesis concentrates on the analysis of already implemented standard solution in the company's factory. Main goal is to propose expansion of the functioning area to the already existing solution, aiming for effective use of energy resources. It was necessary, in order to be able to achieve the goal, to get familiar with the complex corporate IT/ICT construction in alignment with the company's energy concept. The proposed solution is leaning on application of internal MES project methodology, leading to exact specification of energy component in the factory production frame. The thesis conclusions, besides the proposed solution itself should serve as an argument about the efficiency of starting MES system in other production factories of the company.

Frequentist and Bayesian inference
Shykhmanter, Dmytro ; Vilikus, Ondřej (advisor) ; Hebák, Petr (referee)
The thesis provides both theoretical and practical comparison of frequentist and Bayesian methods of statistical inference. Comparing of these two concepts begins with describing the philosophy of probability theory. Also is introduced the problem of determinism as well as three main probability interpretations. Statistical inference is a process of making general conclusions based on a given evidence. The frequentist statistics uses the observed data as an only evidence for its conclusions, while the Bayesian one is based on an idea that the subjective degree of belief can be also used for these purposes. Why should one disregard to his experience, knowledge or even intuition? Often happens that results of statistical data analysis are useless in sense that they come out not as it is expected. This situation is illustrated when there are a number of ski resorts which are graded on five star scale. If we look to the top ten, we will find that some of those should not belong there, though the data says they do. Generally the top positions are occupied by the objects with fewer reviews, while those with more reviews get lower average score. Bayesian data analysis methods enable to eliminate this kind of problem. Based on a prior information about the whole data set, every ski resort would get a fair score and as the result, the model would better represent the quality of the each resort based on the respondents' reviews.

Application for Food Quality Rating for iOS
Bobák, Petr ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
In this thesis I deal with development of mobile application for iOS platform which is part of ''food quality rating in catering facilities'' student project. I am describing a journey starting from interface design through implementation details about user interface and application logic to final evaluation of this application. Design of interface and evaluating is my main point of interest. I have followed prototyping methodology throughout the development with which I also acquaint the reader. User can effectively get access to rating and comments of dishes with this application. It is also possible to create, rate, comment and add useful information about the dish. User interface respects environment and situation in that way the user is not distracted and disturbed when using the application actively. The thesis brings to the reader current view of the development of mobile applications whose market has grown in recent years rapidly.

Male response to infertility by glance of female
KLEMENTOVÁ, Zuzana
This bachelor thesis, titled "Male Reactions to Infertility from Female Perspective", focuses on couples who have long been trying to conceive a child and on the way men react or express their opinions on the issue of infertility. The theoretical part is based on expert sources and explains the concepts that relate to this issue. A qualitative research strategy was selected for the practical part. The method of a snowball was used to select the research group. The research group consisted of women who have long been trying, or are trying, to conceive a child with their partners. The women were aged 25-50 years and of various education levels. The total number of the respondents was five. The method of interviews - semi-structured interviews - was used for data collection. Each of the interviews lasted 45 to 60 minutes on average and it was recorded on a recording device with the respondents´ consent. The main objective of the thesis was to describe, using women´s interpretations, their partners´ reactions to having trouble with getting pregnant and the solutions to this situation. To meet the above objective, two research questions were formulated: How do women interpret their partners´ reactions to infertility since the findings till resolving the situation? What man´s reactions would women consider adequate for the situation? Data was processed using a qualitative content analysis. The results obtained showed that men are quite often able and willing to communicate with their partners. These pairs demonstrated that men share the problem with their partners and are able support them. In this respect, it seems that men are mentally tougher and stronger than women. In two cases, it was found that men did not communicate with their partners because they were not accustomed to talk about problems. These two men also did not support their partners. However, the women expected these reactions. If the couples solved the problems of failed pregnancy repeatedly, their communication was problematic at first but there were improvements over time. The thesis reflects the issue that hotly debated currently as it is difficult nowadays to decide when to have a child. Male infertility is rather an issue of the recent decades; before it was automatically assumed that the fault is on the side of women. This thesis captures, through women´s interpretations, the reactions of partners to the problem of infertility. The results of this thesis could be used as informative material for professionals who encounter this group of patients because general ideas are still burdened with a lot of myths (e.g. men do not attend medical examination, couples divorce, etc.) They could also serve as support for men who have difficulties expressing their emotions and views on the infertility issue.

Social aspects of facial appearance
Rubešová, Anna ; Havlíček, Jan (advisor) ; Smékal, Vladimír (referee) ; Blažek, Vladimír (referee)
The dissertation thesis consists of an introductory analysis of literature and further of manuscripts, both published and submitted for publication. The analysis of literature firstly describes the theme of facial perception from the view of neuropsychology. It also discusses the question of stereotypical judgment of others according to the facial appearance and the theme of halo effect, as well as the possibility of accuracy in judging others according to their face. Further, it deals with the influence of facial appearance in a numerous social contexts (e.g. in one's career, at school, in politics). The second part of the thesis includes two reviews concerning mainly the accuracy of personality judgment on the basis of facial appearance and various aspects of facial attractiveness. Next, there are four research studies included in the thesis, which were aimed at finding the level of accuracy in judgments of Cattell's personality factors on the basis of facial appearance of an unknown individual. The results suggest that a mere facial appearance contains some relevant information regarding personality of an individual and that the perceiver is able to estimate some personality traits (mainly Social boldness, Liveliness and Warmth) relatively accurately on the basis of both, an individual picture and a...

Thematic Apperception test in drug users
Slavíčková, Tereza ; Goldmann, Petr (advisor) ; Soukupová, Tereza (referee)
SLAVÍČKOVÁ, T. Tématicko apercepční test u uživatelů drog. Pedagogická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy v Praze, 2012. 140 s.
