Restriction of right of ownership for environmental protection reasons - a comparative study of legal systems
Pospíšil, Allan ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee) ; Müllerová, Hana (referee)
of the doctoral thesis entitled: "Restriction of right of ownership for environmental protection reasons - a comparative study of legal systems" The right of ownership and the exercising of the right of use resulting from this rank among the fundamental human rights and are to be universally observed. However, due to its very nature, the individual's right of ownership has to be restricted. On the one hand, in order to ensure the exercising of the right of ownership and other basic rights by other legal entities. On the other hand, in order to ensure the enforcement of matters of public interest. One of the most important matters of public interest, which requires the restriction of the right of ownership, is the protection of the environment. The subject of this thesis is the restriction of the right of ownership for environmental protection reasons and is based on a comparison of the legal systems of both Switzerland and the Czech Republic. This thesis, written in the Czech language by the jurist who graduated in law at the Law Faculty of the University of Zurich, is intended in particular for jurists and other interested parties from the Czech Republic. This is why the author pays special attention to the formulation and representation of the legal framework governing the restriction of the...

Clause order in contemporary Czech
Chudobová, Martina ; Lehečková, Eva (advisor) ; Zikánová, Šárka (referee)
My thesis deals with the word order in the contemporary Czech language. The aim is to discover the principles that control the clause order within sentences and to find out to what extent the position of the main and subordinate clauses is fixed. The first section summarizes the work of Czech and Slovak linguists and introduces the principles that apply to the clause order in particular sentences. It defines types of sentences with fixed, usual and loose order. At the end of this part there is an overview of the positions of different types of clauses, which became the springboard for the empirical part. The second section deals with the clause order of selected subordinate sentences. I have chosen a representative sample of connecting expressions. Using materials of the Czech National Corpus I try to outline the contemporary Czech clause order of the most frequent types of clauses following these expressions.

Querying relational databases through XSLT
Mareš, Jiří ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Richta, Karel (referee)
XML is becoming standard for information representing and data interchange. A question has arisen if it would be possible to combine simplicity and user friendliness of XML and its querying languages together with performance of relational databases, has arisen. There are several proposals how to carry this connection out. The aim of this thesis is to inspect one of these proposals, eventually modify it and then implement it. The inspected proposal stores XML data into relational database based on knowledge of XML DTD and subsequently queries them using XSLT. XSLT queries will be transformed to SQL queries using DTD of XML data stored in database and a way to transform data back to XML will be suggested.

GULAG as a Life - Experience : The Soviet Repressive System of 30. - 50.'s in 20th century in narrations and memoir literature
Foldynová, Markéta ; Himl, Pavel (advisor) ; Babka, Lukáš (referee)
The Abstract The main focus of the diploma thesis named "GULAG as a life experience" is on the Soviet repressive system in the era of 30's to 50's of the 20th century. There are two approaches in this thesis: the first one is concerning the narrating and memory, the other point of view is the topics reflecting in the narrations. Both, oral and written stories are used, the written ones are prevailing. In the third chapter, I deal with the topic of human memory and its relation to history and telling about past. I am posing the question concerning the relation between memory and society, memory and history, how do the people conceive their narrations, what sort of language tools and schemes of telling do they use and what the differences between oral and written narrations are. This empirically focused part of the thesis is forgone by a theoretical part dealing with the mentioned topics. All is illustrated by using examples from the life stories of survivors. The other main topic is discussed in the eighth chapter, dealing with topics often appearing in the memories of the survived people. As well as in the other part I am using here the examples of the life stories for better illustration of the explained topic. The subtopics are divided into five groups: "time and space", "death and suicide", "strategies...

A Critique of New Atheism
Dravecký, Pavol ; Bouma, David (advisor) ; Pospíšil, Ctirad Václav (referee)
A Critique of New Atheism London buses with atheistic banners in January 2009 were only one instance of an emerging stream of "new atheists" who in the name of Science proclaim the end of God. This thesis shall first present a twofold critique of the foremost activist of this movement, Richard Dawkins and his central volume "The God Delusion", so that it eventually looks for an explanation for his surprising success. It will conclude that in spite of his boldness, Dawkins fails to present reasonable criticism of Christian theism. Since his popularity cannot be ascribed to any relevant innovative thought, its roots must probably be found in certain aspects of our time and perhaps in an inadequacy of the language of the Church. Keywords: Atheism, Richard Dawkins, Existence of God, Christianity, Fundamental Theology

Phrases in Karel Poláček's works and its meaning in today's media
Pavlova, Olga ; Pešička, Jiří (referee) ; Holý, Jiří (advisor)
In this work, we analyze selected phrases in Karel Poláček's works, i.e. mainly his Žurnalistický slovník and his novels Bylo nás pět and Muži v ofsajdu. At the beginning, we define the conception of a phrase and in connection to than, we define the specificity of the author's prose. Then follows the analysis of the misuse of language in totalitarian regimes and journalism. Finally, we retrieve the information on the frequency of the actual use of the selected expressions in today's media with the help of Anopress.

Implementation of Collate at the database level for PostgreSQL
Strnad, Radek ; Kopecký, Michal (referee) ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor)
Current version of PostgreSQL supports only one collation per database cluster. This does not meet the requirements of some users developing multi-lingual applications. The goal of the work will be to implement collation at database level and make foundations for further national language supp ort development. User will be able to set collation when creating a database. Particulary commands CREATE DATABASE... COLLATE ... will be implemented using ANSI standards. Work will also implement possibility of creating users's own collation collection commands CREATE COLLATION ... FROM ... USING and DROP COLLATION using ANSI standards.

Object-relational mapping in PHP
Vrchota, Michal ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
Objective of this document is to provide a view for mapping an object model into relational database. This work is divided into two main sections. The first one describes theory of object-relational mapping and used design patterns targeting on patterns for object model representation and inheritance. The second part is devoted to description of object relational mapping in PHP language and focuses on usage of libraries Zend_Db and Doctrine. It is illustrated the basic work with those libraries and reasons for deployment in real application are explained as well. The contribution of this work is a brief explanation of object-relational mapping problematic and its implementation in PHP applications using ORM libraries.

Analýza hedgeových fondov a hedgeových stratégií
Austová, Lucia ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Halás, Vladimír (referee)
An objective of my graduation thesis is an analysis of hedge funds and hedge strategies while reflecting the distribution of the investments to right portfolio taking into account the risk. The main aim is to provide clear and consistent classification of whole variety of different hedge styles and strategies. There are plenty of different investment and trading strategies of hedge funds and their classification differs from analyst to analyst and from database to database. The work focuses on finding an alternative consistent classification of hedge funds which will lead to improvement of investment decisions of financial market participants, to effective distribution of the investment portfolio and therefore to elimination of undiversified risks. For the practical analysis I use real data of hedge fund returns of particular relevant time period. I focus on research and description of possible methods of hedge fund classification mentioning their pluses and minuses. After passionate evaluation of each method I have chosen two methods according to which I classify the hedge funds datasets and finally I compare the results of both. The theoretical part of work focuses on definition of hedge funds, hedge styles and strategies, pluses and minuses as well as risk accompanying particular strategy.

Dynamic Datalog
Janušek, Martin ; Vojtáš, Peter (referee) ; Kosík, Antonín (advisor)
In this study we examine possibilities of integration extensional updates into Datalog. Our research involves also possibility of query evaluation optimization by making intensional rules explicit (materialization). As a result od our approach we present new query language D-Datalog. Our proposal extends Datalog database by set of constraints and set of intensional facts (materialization of intensional database). We introduce possibility of extensional and intensional updates. By intensional updates we mean updates of set of intensional facts so user can directly state, which consequences of intensional clauses should be in materialization. Updates are not executed as soon as they are evaluated. Instead, they are collected and then applied to the database when the query evaluation is completed (non-immediate update semantics). This approach is similar to semantics of relational databases. Prototype implementation of D-Datalog in Java is part of our solution.
