Adaptivní hp nespojitá Galerkinova metoda pro nestacionární stlačitelné Eulerovy rovnice
Korous, Lukáš ; Feistauer, Miloslav (advisor) ; Dolejší, Vít (referee)
The compressible Euler equations describe the motion of compressible inviscid fluids. They are used in many areas ranging from aerospace, automotive, and nuclear engineering to chemistry, ecology, climatology, and others. Mathematically, the compressible Euler equations represent a hyperbolic system consisting of several nonlinear partial differential equations (conservation laws). These equations are solved most frequently by means of Finite Volume Methods (FVM) and low-order Finite Element Methods (FEM). However, both these approaches are lacking higher order accuracy and moreover, it is well known that conforming FEM is not the optimal tool for the discretization of first-order equations. The most promissing approach to the approximate solution of the compressible Euler equations is the discontinuous Galerkin method that combines the stability of FVM, with excellent approximation properties of higher-order FEM. The objective of this Master Thesis was to develop, implement and test new adaptive algorithms for the nonstationary compressible Euler equations based on higher-order discontinuous Galerkin (hp-DG) methods. The basis for the new methods were the discontinuous Galerkin methods and space-time adaptive hp-FEM algorithms on dynamical meshes for nonstationary second-order problems. The new algorithms...

Neurogenesis and gliogenesis after ischemic brain injury in EGFP/GFAP mice
Dlouhá, Veronika ; Anděrová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Vargová, Lýdia (referee)
Focal ischemia induces enhancement of neurogenesis/gliogenesis in the subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricle and it also leads to glial scar formation in the vicinity of the ischemic lesion. The gliotic scar is mainly formed by reactive astrocytes that express glial fibrilarly acidic protein (GFAP), nevertheless this protein is also expressed in adult multipotent neural stem cells (NSCs). Therefore, we have used the strain of transgenic mice (GFAP/EGFP mice), in which the enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) is expressed under human GFAP promoter in astrocytes as well as in NSCs, thus allowing us an immediate vizualization of these cells, and to estimate the effect of ischemic injury on their fate during proliferation and differentiation in vitro. Focal ischemia was induced by the occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCAO) and 3 days post injury, an immunohistochemical analysis was carried out. Furthermore, the cell isolation from SVZ and the region of gliotic scar was performed, followed by their cultivation under proliferative conditions (as neurospheres) and their differentiation for 7-10 days. The differentiation potential of these cells was studied using immunocytochemical analyses and patch clamp technique was employed to estimate their membrane properties. Based on increased...

Romanesque galleried churches in Bohemia and their founders
Gája, Robert ; Doležalová, Eva (referee) ; Žemlička, Josef (advisor)
In the preceding chapters we examined the relationship between the church and its founder from several perspectives. Various forms of the relationship changed over the 13th and 14th centuries, however their content persisted. Patrons' claims expressed themselves in various domains. A feudal claim on the church property also resulted from the ownership of land itself. As a matter of fact, a whole set of founder's rights is concerned. The public function of churches was not impaired thereby. It did not consist in the realm of property, but only resulted from the parochial function, which the founders did not intend to impair by any means. Ecclesiastical supervision over priests' prebends and the church property did not constitute a transition of this property to ecclesiastical ownership in today's connotation, since the Church as a private legal subject did not exist in the Middle Ages. Nor the founders were the owners to all intents and purposes. The property belonging to the church or prebend was a foundation. Its purpose was to ensure the continuous operation of the church and parish administration, which mattered to both sides, the establishment and the Church. The status of the prebend and the church was to stay the same over the time regardless of the change of priests or landowners. The patron claimed...

Monitoring of changes regarding muscle involvement in specific areas of human motion system when walking and nordic walking
Škopek, Martin ; Kračmar, Bronislav (advisor) ; Kučera, Miroslav (referee) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee)
The Dissertation is concerned with monitoring of changes regarding muscle involvement in specific areas of human motion system when walking and Nordic walking (NW) with focus on adults and by means of electromyography method. Within the process of field testing there were 9 randomly selected individuals at the age of 50 - 60 tested to elicit differences in the motion system. There was an effort to find certain differences within involvement of specific muscle groups in the area of shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle and lower limbs and retrieval of similarities of coordination attributes concerning locomotion at horizontal presented by paradigm of kinesiological content of reflexive crawling according to Vojta's principle. Kinematic analyses was used to discover a difference in involvement of specific muscles between Nordic (v = 5 kph) and regular walking (v = 4, 75 kph) up to 10˚ of ascent. Muscles where their MVC was diagnosed the difference in individual muscle involvement was monitored expressed in percentage. The values found were consequently related to their referential value of MVC and tested by means of Wilcoxon test for dependent selection. Muscles where MVC value was not diagnosed the intraindividual comparative analyses of activation muscle pair similarity was carried out on the grounds of...

Seismic Site Effects (Data Analysis and Modelling)
Caserta, Arrigo ; Zahradník, Jiří (advisor) ; Růžek, Bohuslav (referee) ; Burjánek, Jan (referee)
A comprehensive study of the soil shaking under the seismic wave-field ex- citation is presented. It includes theoretical, geological, geotechnical, data analysis and numerical simulations aspects. The aim is to quantify the main parameters allowing the estimate of the soil shaking in urban areas for better mitigating seismic risk due to future earthquakes. The city of Rome has been chosen as a case study because of its high density of popula- tion and large concentration of historical monuments with high earthquake vulnerability. This study improves significantly the knowledge concerning the detailed near-surface geology of the chosen study area of Rome, ful- fills the absence both of knowledge concerning its geotechnical properties and earthquake data recordings in the city. Among others, it allows for a better explanation of the spatial damage pattern observed in the city due to earthquakes in the past. The main innovations include the construction and long-term operation a seismic array in the city, analysis of the natural seismic noise, and instrumental recordings of the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake sequence. The 3D array (including a borehole sensor at 70-m depth) is the first one in Italy planned, realized and operated within an urban area, and the first one that recorded a significant earthquake in...

Penance as a Proof of Love
Grimmerová, Monika ; Mohelník, Tomáš (advisor) ; Červenková, Denisa (referee)
Anglická anotace Penance as a proof od love. Proof of love of God towards man and love of man to God can be seen in mutual and incomparable sacrifice. That means, of course, repentant mentality, conversion, which reaches its crown in the sacrament of baptism and is expressed, afterwards, in the sacrament of penance. In God as sacrifice of His own Son for redemption of man.
