Marketing research and analysis of consumer perception of private labels

The main goal of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate awareness and consumer perception of private labels, consumer attitudes towards them and the influence of private labels on consumer buying decisions. The aim is to find out what is the difference in the perception of national brands versus private brands of selected chain stores, including the extent and frequency of private label goods in the shopping baskets of consumers. The first part is devoted to theoretical perspective of brands, private labels and marketing research. The following part is focused on specific private brands and supply analysis of these brands in the Czech Republic. The third and crucial part of the work itself is dedicated to the marketing research and detailed interpretation of the results.

Nudity in dance

In his thesis the author is reflecting subject (theme) of Nudity/nakedness in dance. The thesis is divided in six chapters. The first chapter is concerned with the term nudity/nakedness in general. The second chapter moves to the concept of nudity/nakedness in a short summary of historical context. This chapter is divided in seven sub-chapters, due to historical period or region. Third chapter is about nudity/nakedness in a dance art. Then summary of main topic follows, where the author tries to define different ways of using nudity/nakedness in dance art, when using several examples from dance history. The thesis also includes interviews with dance artists from the Czech republic and Slovakia. Intention of the thesis is to bring closer the phenomenon of nudity/nakedness in dance as a controversial theme.

Problematic or interesting pronuntiation of foreign proper names (a Czech Television employees’ view)

This article presents preliminary results from field research conducted at Czech Television. Researchers from the Czech Language Institute conducted a total of 11 approximately hour-long semi-structured interviews with Czech Television employees. Topics of the interviews included words which are problematic or otherwise interesting in terms of pronunciation, and potential solutions to these pronunciation problems. The article presents an overview of 80 foreign proper names, 10 common names and 12 abbreviations which have various pronunciation variants, respondents’ attitudes toward them, and in some cases their declared process of finding the appropriate pronunciation. Attention is further devoted to the respondents’ awareness of the rules for the pronunciation of loanwords and foreign language personal names in Czech.

Czech Public's Attitudes to Foreign Countries - November 2016

In November survey CVVM investigated how sympathetic or unsympathetic are some selected countries to the Czech public. In this survey 27 countries were selected. The most sympathetic country among them according to Czech citizens is Slovakia followed by Austria, France, Sweden, Norway, Italy, and Great Britain.

Attitude of Czech Public to Accepting of Refugees in October 2016

In October 2016 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to accepting refugees from countries affected by military conflicts. Questions focused mainly on opinion towards accepting refugees from concrete regions (Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa), concern with the current situation around refugees and perception of the situation as a security threat. Press release shows also the comparison with public opinion in Poland.
