Models of social policy in the European Union

Bachelor thesis titled "Models of social policy in the European Union" characterizes the social models in the European Union and the comparison of selected indicators. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on theoretical background of social policy followed by the historical development of social policy in the process of European integration and typology of social models that underlie the understanding of the issue. The practical part is trying to provide general view of social system in the Czech Republic and find out how social policy of the Czech Republic approximates to the European social model. In conclusion, there are some suggestions for improving Czech situation.

The role of a social worker in a special-pedagogical centre(SPC)with mentally handicapped children in south-bohennian region

The dissertation is interested in funkcion of social worker in special-pedagogical centre(SPC) with mentally handicapped children in south-bohemian region. There is no mention about a po-sition of social workers in the law n.563/2004 legal code, although the standard activityin SPC is pastoral and socially legal consultancy. Job description of social workerprovides a government command n.222/2010 legal code and its catalogue of works. In this command is the social worker's job description specified just generally and it is not workedout directly in education system or any other consulting institutions. This bachelor's disseratitonis interested in legislative anchor of social worker in scholl education system, of the typesof SPC- its characteristic and activities. Except this it also maps an activity of socialworker ind the SPC. Research part is judging jobs descriptions of this workers in differentspecials centres and is also judging this job position from the perspective of executive staff, from the perspective of worker itself and from the clients of SPC.

Use of enterprise social networks in company

The thesis is focused on analyzing possible uses of enterprise social networks in an organization and impacts of the implementing on processes and employees. The term social network is defined and possible uses are listed in the first part of the thesis. The thesis continues with a definition of enterprise social networks and a description of their characteristics. The first chapter provides a list of the featu-res and functions of enterprise social networks of different vendors. Pros and cons of using enterprise social network Yammer are detailed. Yammer is one of the most common networks and has been used in a business case of Manica's client, which is described in the practical part of the thesis. Conclusion of the thesis is an overview of enterprise social networks available on the market and a summary of the advantages and disadvantages of implementa-tion.Using acquired knowledge can be concluded modalities for the an application of corporate social network in the environment of any organization.

Possibilities of using social networks to support business in the healthcare sector

The master thesis deals with the problem of using social networks in the healthcare sector of the Czech Republic. Its aim is to analyze the current state of the use of social networks by mammography centers, and according to the results of the analysis to define a set of recommendations on how to effectively communicate and use social networks in order to support a business. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first provides the theoretical basis of the chosen topic, defines the main concepts, stated the most widely used social networks in the Czech Republic and their characteristics suitable for internet marketing. The second part begins with characterizing of the Czech healthcare sector, continues with Porter five forces analysis, which defines possible restrictions on doing business in this sector. Then the analysis of the use of social networks in health care organizations follows. Identified recommendations useful for the successful acting of mammography centers on social networks are based on the results of the analysis. These recommendations are designed for a particular mammography center, but with a bit of abstraction are suitable to other entities in the healthcare sector.

Fashion blog as a marketing tool

Bachelor thesis is focused on exploring promotion of brands and companies on specific Czech fashion blogs. At the same time investigates the reaction of readers and awareness on the promotion of blogs and its actual impact on these readers. The theoretical part contains information about marketing, communication process, forms of communication, communication and communication mix on the internet. Further information in this section is about social networks and their use in business, the characteristics of a blog, the blog history, whether abroad or in the Czech Republic. The practical part presents the analysis of co-operation brands with specific Czech fashion bloggers and results of a questionnaire survey among the readers.

Use of social networking sites to support virtual teamwork in organization

The thesis is focused on utilization of social networking sites as a tool for virtual team collaboration support. The first goal is to identify critical success factors of virtual teamwork, which are currently not supported by groupware tools, based on description of virtual team characteristics and processes. Identified critical success factors represent the basis for the completion of next goal, which is to describe aspects of social networking sites, which are able to support the identified critical success factors. That leads to the main goal of the thesis, which consists of two main parts. First part is the analysis of social networking sites aspects influence on virtual teamwork critical success factors. The second part is the practical solution of utilization of social networking sites for virtual teamwork support. Final solution includes all social networking sites implementation phases starting from choosing the product, implementation process and ending with setting of team processes and utilization principles. Social networking sites aspects description is based on current enterprise information systems trends and the final solution results from the analysis and synthesis of findings from both previous thesis parts. The main contribution of the thesis is the solution of social networking sites utilization inside the organization and providing of practical instructions for implementation of social networking sites in order to support virtual teamwork.


Analysis of the social services planning in the region Hradec Králové

The transformation of social services is a current topic. Social services in context of their social change are the topic of this dissertation. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on social serivices in wider context of social politics and social help as a basic background of providing social services. Furthermore, you can find here roles of individual subjects and objects of social services. The course of social services transformation is described in the chapter which characterises the aims and main changes of the new social services. The chapter describing the planning of social services introduces the research. The theoretical part leads to the summary of the theoretical analysis. Empirical research is introduced by the characteristics of the region, i.e. Hradec Kralove. The research itself deals with the analysis of the current state of social services planning in selected municipalitites of Hradec Kralove region. We have chosen two research strategies: quantitative and qualitative, the latter is an integral part of the research. The aim of the dissertation is the analysis of the social services planning in the municipalitites of Hradec Kralove region. We are trying to find the influences of future and social services planning and also what strategies are used by the municipalities.

Social Capital: Usefulness of the Concept

The vast amount of theoretical and empirical work on social capital that has inundated the social sciences, since the beginning of the nineties, can be roughly divided in to two categories. Firstly there are those writers, mainly political scientists and economists, who follow Putnam's line of reasoning and tend to see "associational membership" more as a source of social capital than as another form of it. Secondly those, mainly sociologists, who tend to treat the concept of social capital as primarily a social structural variable, which can be used to refer to social network or to the linkages between individuals and/or organizations. The later theorists, represented by writers such as Edwards and Foley (2001b), and Lin (2001a, 2001b), usually associate social capital with facilitating goods and service flows among individuals and organization. Through a historical overview, discussion on the major conceptualizations, as well as special characteristics and perspectives of social capital, we try to clarify the social capital debate and clearly differentiate between the two approaches. Subsequently, we present a thorough critique of Putnam's approach to social capital, as well as various arguments questioning its conceptualization and use. As a result, we argue that this line of argument leads to a dead...

Orgány statutárního města Mladá Boleslav

Diplomová práce se zabývá charakteristikou postavení orgánů statutárního města Mladá Boleslav. Zejména je kladen důraz na zastupitelstvo města a jeho výbory, radu města a její komise, primátora a magistrát. Cílem je zaměřit se na jejich postavení, strukturu, pravomoc a působnost. Dále se snaží zachytit změny u jednotlivých orgánů, ke kterým došlo jak z hlediska demografických tak sociálních charakteristik. Konkrétně jsou porovnávány dvě po sobě jdoucí volební období 1998-2002 a 2002-2006.
