Russian and Czech specifics of copyright protection in the sphere of audiovisual works

The significant part of the diploma thesis is oriented on the aspects of audiovisual content copyright law and the illegal usage in two countries, such as Czech Republic and Russia. The main task is to concentrate on pros and cons of their copyright law protection against content rights infringing, i.e. piracy. For deeper analysis, Czech and Russian laws investigation in details is to be made in relation to the law enforcement to the audiovisual content. Then the comparison of the punishments for the copyright law infringement is to be provided and the results of antipiracy activities within appropriate organizations in mentioned countries is to be considered. Subsequently the theoretical part is to be applied in concrete cases of court practices and finally the conclusion of the whole work is to be made. The value of the diploma thesis lies in the attempt of answering the questions, why piracy still exists in the chosen countries. This question is connected to antipiracy actions and their possible obstructions.
The role of ASEAN in the maritime security in the South China Sea

The region of South China Sea and surrounding straits gains more and more significance at the global level due to its importance for the maritime transport, mineral resources and fishery. Those positive aspects attract many concerns of various powers on one hand and at the same time many security threats on the other -- e.g. transnational organised crime, territorial disputes and environmental degradation. The objective of this thesis is to analyse actual activities of ASEAN and evaluate its role in the maritime security of South China Sea using the methods of case study, description and analysis of the primary sources, documents and expert opinions. The main finding of this study is the very key role of ASEAN in the maritime security of South China Sea which allows him to determine the future course of regional security cooperation.
Current legal issues of copyright infringement of musical works

This diploma thesis identifies the most important changes in legislation and submitted proposals in the area of copyright between years 2012 and 2013 and in the beginning of 2014 in the Czech Republic, the EU and the USA. These changes are evaluated from a legislative point of view and also from the point of view of a music consumer. For thorough understanding, the thesis contains also an overview of the current Czech legislation of copyright. Furthermore, it evaluates the current situation in a broader context of law, history, technology, culture and consumer behaviour and defines it as opposed to previous periods. It describes the history of music piracy and its current situation and features some of the most important cases of copyright enforcement of the period 2012 to 2014. The thesis contains also a research performed in the Czech Republic and Sweden, which describes past and present habits of music listeners. Following the identification of previous development and current trends, the thesis discovers future development and suggests future solutions to the problem of copyright in music.
Piracy as a threat to the international security: NATO in the Gulf of Aden

This bacherol's thesis deals with a modern and specific threat to security relations -- piracy. It characterizes this threat in the case of the Gulf of Aden, where the Somali pirate networks operated, which triggered an international reaction and intervention. In connection with the threat of piracy, the thesis analyzes in the theoretical part the history and evolution of piracy into its current form, where it focuses on the emergence of piracy in the Gulf of Aden and the roots of the problems in this area. The second chapter focuses on the various organizations that operate in the Gulf of Aden. These are divided into military and non-military organizations. The last part is devoted to the North Atlantic Alliance, which operates in the Gulf of Aden since 2008.
The conflict in Somalia and the impact of European states on solving the situation of Somalia

The thesis deals with the Conflict in Somalia and the influence of international participants, especially European Union. Theoretical part focuses on main indicators that bring Somalia on the top of "Failed States Index", piracy and terrorism. Practical part focuses on analyzing European Union's missions in Somalia and evaluating indicators such as GDP or "Failed States Index". The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the impact of European states on solving the instability of Somalia based on the current situation there.
Brand piracy problematics

This thesis deals with problems of brand piracy. The main objective is to evaluate the current situation in the various types of piracy, focusing on product piracy especially in the forms of counterfeiting and product imitation. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter of this part concentrates on the general overview of brand policy. The important role and the value of the brands very much influence the purchasing behavior of consumers and support the presence of non-original products. The second theoretical part is further dedicated to the different types of piracy and legal protection of brands falling under the scope of intellectual property rights. To achieve a more comprehensive view, the practical part considers attitude, shopping behavior and opinions of Czech consumers on this issue.
Cloud Computing in Gaming Industry

This thesis analyzes current status of software distribution in gaming industry and its biggest challenges. Thesis also includes insight in completely different approach to the software distribution -- Cloud Gaming. In practical part are thoroughly tested existing solutions and done functionality analysis. Practical part also includes experiment which regards to building own platform using currently existing tools and it is followed by discussion of results.
Specifics and problems of countries in the Horn of Africa

The paper is concerned with the problems of countries in the Horn of Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia). The first part provides general geographical, historical and demographic information about the Horn of Africa. Further it analyzes the political and security situation in this region, with a special focus on piracy in Somalia. The second part, in particular deals, with economic problems and region specifics problems such as an economic dependence on agriculture and the impact of climate change, further macro economical development, foreign aid, standard of living and the fall-out from HIV/AIDS on poverty. The last part describes territorial and commodity structure of foreign trade with special an emphasis on Ethiopia, where important role has coffee growing.
Software piracy and the methodology of it's investigation

The main objective of this work is to critically evaluate a sufficient portion of the circuit problem of software piracy and to propose solutions of sub-problems, to use the interpretation of all relevant laws and all other available resources and create a comprehensive picture of the case. The practical part should be primarily a manual for ordinary computer users, which should help them. At the same time I present a preview of the methods of the executive law enforcement authority - Police of the Czech Republic, which deals with the investigation of software piracy. Range of the methods used in my work is not wide, which is partly due to reluctance of companies to cooperate because it is a relatively sensitive information, but it fully covers the needs of work and make it possible to have a final vision of the subject.
Analysis and prediction of the digital music market

This paper analyzes the conditions and functions of the present music market, with the main focus on the distribution of music in digital formats. It discusses fundamental concepts as well as the law framework which is used in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Firstly, the paper discusses technological aspects, including various music formats, the realization of sales via the Internet, and the usage of file sharing networks. Secondly, the paper discusses important services already available on the Internet, which have had a significant impact on the market, and whose influence will continue well into the future. To better understand the present situation, an analysis of piracy phenomena is crucial. This analysis is based on many published studies and has attempted to reflect the attitudes of customers, musicians, and the music industry in general, towards the present state of the market. Finally, various opportunities are discussed for designing potentially usable services, which could possibly create value for consumers and the music industry in the future. These models include protectionist services transformation, supply diversification, subscription approach and streaming. New models are globally compiled together with outlined relations between them.
