"Prague Institutional Care of Orphans and > Abandoned Children in the First Half of the 20th Century

This bachelor thesis investigates care of orphans and abandoned children paying particular attention to Prague institutes for those children. Firstly, this paper describes general development of care of orphans and abandoned children, system of organization of this type of care and some subjects working in the field of care of children. The children could be provided for either in foster families or in institutes. Part of this paper describes those two possibilities and period discussion about advantages and disadvantages of both possibilities. The key topic of the thesis is organization of social care of children in the Prague area and description of selected children's homes and orphanages. The thesis also briefly describes everyday life in institutes: it characterizes inhabitants of institutes, relationship among personel and inmates and way of financing the institutes. Archive materials of particular children's homes and also period specialized literature were the basic sources for the thesis. Výuka cizího jazyka v první třídě

This diploma thesis deals with teaching a foreign language in Class One at primary school. The theoretical part deals with questions and polemic regarding the acquisition of a foreign language at an early age and examines the advantages and disadvantages of language learning at an early age. Compares the views of experts on this issue and describes the conditions for effective teaching of children. It focuses on the basic methodology for teaching foreign language to small children. It speaks about adequate forms of work at an early age and describes how the language skills can or cannot be developed. The practical part describes and compares the teaching of English language in Class One at a state school and an alternative school based on observation, my own teaching and discourses with teachers.

Biodegradable Materials and Their Use

The point of this bachelor thesis is to acquaint the reader with the problematic of biodegradable polymer materials. In the main part of this thesis are described their basic types, features and usage in praxis. There will be also presented their basic advantages and disadvantages. These data will be compared with advantages and disadvantages of other basic conventional polymer materials. The last part of the thesis is focused on usage of the biodegradable materials in praxis. In conclusion are summarized all findings and recommendations.

Automatic Analysis of Heart Rate Variability Signals

This dissertation thesis is dedicated to the heart rate variability and methods of its evaluation. It mainly focuses on nonlinear methods and especially on the Poincaré plot. First it deals with the principle and nature of the heart rate variability, then the ways of its representation, linear and also nonlinear methods of its analysis and physiological and pathophysiological influence on heart rate variability changes. In particular, there is emphasis on the metabolic syndrome. In the next section of the thesis there are compared and evaluated different ways of representation of the heart rate variability and further are tested selected methods of heart rate variability analysis on unique data from patients with the metabolic syndrome and healthy subjects provided by the Institute of Scientific Instruments, Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic. In particular, they are used the Poincaré plot and its parameters SD1 and SD2, commonly used time domain and frequency domain parameters, parameters evaluating signal entropy and the Lyapunov exponent. SD1 and SD2 combining the advantages of time and frequency domain methods of heart rate variability analysis distinguish successfully between patients with the metabolic syndrome and healthy subjects.

This doctoral thesis focuses on creative online advertising in the context of understanding the value orientation of Czech consumers. By interactions of creative campaigns and national culture of target country aspects businesses can achieve a competitive advantage in the field of digital marketing communications. The main objective of the thesis is to create a concept of creative use of online advertising in the Czech market in relation to the cultural values of Czech consumers as a factor of increasing the competitiveness of Czech companies. The result of the thesis is a design that represents the creative elements of interactive online campaign to Czech national culture, defined as the value orientation by Schwartz according to targeting to defined age group of consumers and it also defines the effective use of online ad formats.

The Problem of Slavery and Race in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

The thesis deals with the problem of race and slavery in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. It shows Huck's ambivalent attitude towards the problem of slavery. It examines his struggle to free himself from the conventions and racial prejudice of the then society, by which he has been formed. Another important part of the thesis contains an indepth analysis of Jim as a literary character. In this section Jim is presented not as a caricature coming from the minstrel tradition but as a complex character.

Furthermore, itcontainscompetitor analysis, situation alanalysis, analysis of internal and external environment, marketing mix and SWOT analysis. The practical part contains the situation alanalysis of the company PROGRAMM s.r.o. including analysis of the internal environment, marketing mix of the company and the analysis of external environment. Furthermore, the marketing research and analysis of the biggest competitor, the company KVADOS, a.s. has been done. Theresults are summed up with a SWOT analysis and the competitive advantages of the company PROGRAMM s.r.o. are defined. The weaknesses of the company are defined and possiblesolutions are suggestedprimarilyfocused on marketing in order to gainanotheradvantages and benefit from them.

Tepelné ztráty objektu jsou určující faktor pro celkovou spotřebu energie na vytápění budov a jelikož se materiály na stavbu a izolaci budovy stále inovují, jsou jak tepelné ztráty, tak i otopné zdroje neustále aktuálním tématem. Tato semestrální práce stručně seznámí čtenáře s nejrozšířenějšími otopnými zdroji – topným kotlem a tepelným čerpadlem. Dále pak zhodnotí výhody a nevýhody výše zmíněných tepelných zdrojů.

This paper deals with automatic classification of text documents, showing advantages of the classification as well as showing difficulty during implementation. It presents several methods in detail, based on analysis of document linking and bayesian filtering. Part of the task is testing on real web pages which should demonstrate the quality of the specific verification methods used.

Master thesis aims at issues of remuneration of employees. Thesis analyses the system, aims and factors of remnuneration in a particular company in order to propose improvement and conlude new ways of remuneraton.Thesis defines terms like motivation and stimulation, characterizes wage and salary and their common signs. In the next part thesis describes advantages and disadvantages of different categories of the wage. Thesis also includes part that concerns incorrenct method of appraisal of the employee. In the final part thesis introduces chosen company, whose system of remuneration is the subject of the master thesis.Thesis analyses this system in accordance with the structure of norms of the company. It also presents the suggestions how the system could be improve.
