Current situation and educational prospects of paramedics
KLINGEROVÁ, Helena
Current situation and educational prospects of paramedics This Bachelor paper endeavors to investigate the current situation and educational prospects of paramedics, i.e. medically trained rescuers. This topic has recently been much discussed, since a great number of young people are being trained and will be trained to become paramedics, and they should have a clear idea of what the qualification they wish to acquire or have already acquired can bring them. The theoretical section of the paper addresses both the historical development and the current situation encountered in the emergency pre-hospital care as provided in the Czech Republic, with the focus on the Emergency Medical Service of the South Bohemian Region (ZZS JčK), whose staff members constituted the surveyed sample. The theory of the subject gives a legal definition of paramedics and specifies their options of professional training & education. The paper aimed to map the employment possibilities of paramedics at ZZS JčK and to find out what the ZZS JčK staff thought about the prospects of this profession. The survey relied on the method of qualitative research based on the questionnaire technique. As follows from the results obtained, all the paramedics being trained cannot currently find a job with the Medical Emergency Service, but in case an Act on Emergency Medical Service is passed, new Emergency Centers will crop up and more paramedics will be needed. As regards the prospects of career for the paramedics, the employees of the Medical Emergency Service are optimistic, because in case the Service cannot offer them a job, they will be able to find employment elsewhere. Thus the hypothesis envisaging that with the number of trained paramedics growing their prospects of finding a job with the Service will diminish proved partly true. The second hypothesis expecting that the paramedic qualification brings better prospects for males than for females was not confirmed as true. Other results of the survey lead me to recommend that the paramedic training takes on a different form and different length, since most respondents believed the paramedics, on leaving the vocational training, were not completely ready for the field work.

Operational safety of mobile robots in indoor environment
Vojta, Jakub ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
During cooperation with the Bender Robotics company a need for operational safety assessment of an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) emerged. Operational safety evaluation is a step towards mass production of the studied robot. Market entry of a product requires a string of various actions and safety assessment is one of them. For risk identification and severity rating were used legal requirements, best practice given by standards, FMEA method, experiment and RIPRAN method. Threats, possible scenarios and risks analysis is systematically discussed through all areas of operation of the robot, from design and construction to control software. All the steps are described in logical order. Starting with information research, going on with series of analysis and ending with suggestions for increased operational safety of autonomous mobile robots.

Krivošová, Martina ; Dubský, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Kuchařová, Alžběta (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with Europeanization of EU Member States in the field of nuclear policy. The aim of this work is to analyse the impact of Europeanisation through detailed analysis of the legal norms and laws approved by the Council and the European Parliament and further analysis of legal norms and the laws of a selected member country in the field of nuclear policy. For the purpose of this work and in-depth analysis the case study was based on the example of the Slovak Republic. Bachelor thesis confirms the hypothesis that despite the inclusion of nuclear energy policy (as part of energy policy) among the European Union's policies of shared competence, the European Union broadly restricts the autonomy of Member States in their own nuclear policy-making.

The failure of the state in Sub-Saharian Africa: the case of Somalia
Kubařová, Petra ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Buben, Radek (referee)
The master thesis presented the failure of the state in Sub-Saharan Africa with the concern on Somalia as a case study. The objective of the master thesis was to verify proposed assumptions that examined the causes of the state failure in Sub-Saharan Africa, the impact of the state failure on the civilians and on the international security as well as the effectiveness of the humanitarian intervention to contribute greatly to the issues of preventing violence against civilians and its spread to the neighbouring countries. The main cause of the failure of the state in Sub-Saharan Africa was found to be the post-colonial governance influenced by the colonial experience, the Cold War period and guaranteed by the norms of international legal sovereignty. The master thesis confirmed that failed and collapsed states are unable to grant its inhabitants the crucial need of security and represent a threat to its inhabitants. However the experience from Somalia showed that the additional structures can appear providing security even in the collapsed state. The events of September 11, 2001 changed understanding of failed states in the international politics classifying them as a security threat to the security of the United States and to the international security. The failure of the state afflicting many countries in...
