Model comparison of restoration paths for a system power station in MODES and PSCAD
Peterka, Michal ; Helbich, Jiří (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with the comparison of two restoration paths in case of the black start in the MODES and PSCAD simulation programs. The aim was to compare the voltage waveforms in individual nodes and the system frequency. At the same time, simulations were compared with a real test. The route models in the MODES program were created earlier and the task was to create the same routes in the PSCAD program using the parameters available from the MODES program. The route models in the PSCAD environment included both the original and the new models of individual elements, which had to be assembled from function blocks. The results of the programs differed slightly, which was caused mainly by the differences of some elements that were used. In the thesis, all the necessary information was stated to make the simulations repeatable.
Modification of a diesel generator for parallel operation with the grid
Černý, Martin ; Ctibor, Jiří (referee) ; Knobloch, Jan (advisor)
This works applies the idea of adjustment an engine-generator, so it is possible to connect an engine-generator, or other type of a generator, to the electricity. Consequently, the machine can transform the power supply without an outage. This work concerns the complex approach, provides the descriptions of particular parts, sensors and active components of a motor-generator and includes the explanation of their function. Further research is focused on designing and drawing a plan with a choice of a control unit for the whole system. Finally, the work deals with the complex implementation and testing the machine in real operation.
Direct load angle measurement on the laboratory generator unit
Dvořáček, Jiří ; Bukvišová, Zuzana (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
Synchronous generators are the most used machines for production of electricity. Therefore it is critical to use various methods for checking operating parameters. One of the worst faults is falling out of synchronism which can even lead to machine damage. Main objective of bachelor thesis is to design a method for load angle measurement using available laboratory equipment and to calculate saturated synchronous reactances using load angle. Load angle is measured using incremental sensor and output voltage waveform.

Assessment of connectivity of the new source to the 110 kV network
Kopečný, David ; Fojtík, Martin (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the connectivity problems of the new sources to the electrical network. The first part of the thesis deals with the description of the new source and the method of its connection to the electrical network. Furthermore, in work, there are elaborated the blocking conditions for substation TR Neratovice expanded distribution point. A distribution network operator must receive an attachment application for connecting before the actual connection. The attachments consist of study cases of conjunction that values the inverse influence on the distributional network and informs the operator about the required measures for the reliable service with the new source. PSS Sincal computer software was used to survey the inverse influences on the distributional network. Based on processed data, the evaluation of conjunction of the synchronous generator to the grid at TR Neratovice substation was reconsidered.
FEM Analysis of a Hybrid Synchronous Generator
Suchomel, Vít ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with calculation and design of synchronous salient pole generator and then the transformation from this machine into so-called hybrid synchronous machine is described. This diploma thesis is done for company Siemens Electric Machines s.r.o. in Drásov. This company provided their design of synchronous salient pole generator. The model of this generator was created in programs RMxprt and Maxwell 2D. Suggestions and models were compared, and their calculated parameters were evaluated. The created model was upgraded to so-called hybrid synchronous generator. Permanent magnets were added in the created model and influence of these additional magnets is going to be analyzed. Tasks of the work are described in more details. in the introduction. The topic of synchronous generator and hybrid synchronous generator in general is described in the theoretical part. The next part of work deals with the design of salient pole generator. In the other part of the work calculation and design of the generator model are described in Ansys program. Furthermore there are some results from program compared with the results from company. Some model parts and other graphic outputs from Ansys program are shown. After that the creation of hybrid synchronous generator is described and created models of hybrid synchronous generators are compared and evaluated.
Using the Arduino module to manage the physical model of the MVE
Perout, Miroslav ; Vrána, Michal (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on acquaintance with the model of MVE and creation of a proposal of the structure of management on the basis of the obtained information. In the first step, the differences in the generators used are described and explained. Subsequently, according to the parameters of the measured system, individual measuring elements and modules are designed to send information to the selected microprocessor. In the last step, the issue of creating visualization software through the Processing environment is discussed.
Design of rotating rectifier for synchronous generator
Skurka, Tomáš ; Cibulka,, Tomáš (referee) ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the design of a rotating rectifier for a synchronous generator. Based on defined requirements, the new rotating rectifier concept has been created that allows a greater current range than existing rectifier used by Siemens Electric Machines s.r.o. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part deals with the search of existing rotating rectifiers and other design possibilities. The requirements for the rotating rectifier were defined in the second part of the thesis. The following section deals with both electrical design of rectifier elements and varistors. The fourth part of the diploma thesis describes the thermal analysis. On the basis of thermal analysis the operating conditions of the rotating rectifier were determined. The last part of the thesis is devoted to mechanical and modal analysis. Based on these analyses, the strength and operability of the new rotating rectifier concept were verified.
Analysis of Frequency Measurement and RoCoF in Simulation Programs
Koudelka, Jan ; Máslo, Karel (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of measurement of frequency and its derivative (RoCoF) in simulation software. The aim of the thesis was to compare results obtained in three different pieces of software (PSS/E, PSCAD, MODES). 2 disturbances were simulated in a grid model IEEE 39 bus system and values of frequency and generator speed were assessed. The results obtained in different software are diverse. This is influenced by method of modelling of synchronous generator and algorithm of calculation of frequency. Findings are important for future investigation of power system transients in simulation software and also point to potencial incorrect assassement of frequency in protective relays.
System of Protection for Laboratory Generator Set
Jurák, Viktor ; Wasserbauer, Vojtěch (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
This thesis deals with draft of protection synchronous generator. The introduction of this thesis is devoted to the description of the laboratory generator set and to the comparison of the devices – protection terminals and measuring devices - which can be used for its protection. In the practical part, it is designed to protect the laboratory generator by means of the selected protection terminal and the way it is connected to the generator circuit so as to enable the generator to be shut down in case of a fault. The last part is dedicated to the configuration, parameterization and testing of the protection terminal.
