Tuberculosis in Národní listy newspaper 1861-1929

This thesis deals with the tuberculosis disease in printed media during the years 1861 - 1929 using Národní listy newspaper as a sample. The tuberculosis was common disease causing several deaths in that period and by the end of 19th century a fight against the tuberculosis had started becoming more organized. Theoretical part of this work contains a brief overview of a history of a treatment development. Research is divided into two periods. Firstly the probes with 10 years frequency are used for the period of the years 1861 - 1918, followed by all volumes from 1918 - 1929 period. The content analysis method is used to process all findings mentioning tuberculosis. All articles found are divided into five categories - health articles, stories, advertisements, tuberculosis in other meaning and death announcements. All data are processed using charts and bar graphs including comments and examples. Aim of this work is to determine how the Národní listy newspaper responded to the medical research news, what information did they offer to their readers and whether their agenda had changed by the influence of foundation of Masaryk's league against tuberculosis after the First world war.

Elaboration of selected parts of technique and methodology of parallel turns in DVD format

The aim of this diploma thesis is to facilitate better knowledge both in a written form and by an instructional video record to those who have not become familiar with this popular winter sport with a long tradition yet. The thesis includes a brief history introduction and explains equipment and safety rules. It provides general ski exercises for beginners and thus prepares them for learning of basic ski skills. Games are included as a mean of better acquirements and enjoyment. They are followed by parallel turns which are primarily defined by technique and biomechanics perspectives. Most frequent mistakes and selected preparatory exercises together with turns are presented as well. The DVD is supposed to introduce a beginner skier into commonly practised and well-proven parallel turns.

EFFECTS OF SOCIOCULTURAL ENVIROMENT ON THE ORIGIN OF FEARS AND ANXIETIES IN CHILDHOOD, PSYCHOSOCIAL ASSISTANCE AND EDUCATION

Anotace (abstrakt) v anglickém jazyce We know about anxiety and fear that they are biologically varied and participate in surviving of the individual and hereby of the human kind. They enable our adaptation as well as contribute to the formation of the human personality. Their certain display is given by biological dispositions, experience gained from life and also by the influence of environment and learning. We can{\crq}t say with certainty how much innateness influences given emotions including heredity and in what degree the environment influences them. Upbringing and individual experience cover inborn dispositions and determine the form and content of individual fears. Anxiety and varied forms of fear make children{\crq}s life unpleasant and they often make it difficult to give the maximum at school which would agree with his abilities. They can also affect his personal development permanently. Especially interpersonal relations, particularly relations between parents are projected into dealing with children. That allows for a deeper understanding of the causes and mechanisms that contribute to the development of display of children{\crq}s fear and anxiety. Children{\crq}s experience is indispensable for later development of the human personality. The chosen methodic is the questionnaire technique related to fear and anxiety with children at school of the first and second degree. For the collection of data a questionnaire has been made which is divided into two parts. The first part is made of 14 questions which refer to the social environment of the child and knowledge about fear and anxiety by the questioned group of children. The second part is made of 11 pictures. This is the authentic south-bohemian method from MUDr. Václav Morava which has a longstanding tradition and reflects his experience and professional knowledge in children{\crq}s psychiatry. The picture part is based on the principles of the psychological projection diagnostic method, test TAT. The asked respondents were children from Emy Destinové primary school in Czech Budweis who visit the first and second degree. It is the 3rd and 4th class and 8th and 9th class. Tables and graphs have been used for the evaluation of both parts of the questionnaire and the results are shown in percentages or averages in graphs. I focused in this work on the basic definition of fear and anxiety in the childhood and on formation of this emotions and their overtaking. The aim of this work has been monitoring with focusing on appearance of children{\crq}s fear and anxiety with the influence of social-cultural environment where they live (family, school, media, free time etc.). The results of this bachelor work may help with revealing of risks and other factors which can cause fear and anxiety in the childhood. It may serve as a document for teachers and parents to a better understanding of children. On the base of appreciations of primary dates a hypothesis has been determined. The hypothesis has been confirmed. There is a more often appearance by children of the young school age.

The role of media in the formation of the life values

The main subject discussed in this bachelor thesis is the impact of media on the formation of life values of teenagers. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on theoretical conceptions and the most famous researches in the area of life values and value orientations. The second part contains a brief list of the most important media-influence theories. The last part of the paper covers a practical research, which aims at finding the role of media in the formation of the life values of 90 selected respondents. For this purpose I prepared a special questionnaire, which contains the questions about value system, life models and subjective opinions of the media influence.

Private radio broadcasting in the Liberec region between years 1989-1999

The thesis deals with the development of the private radio sector in the Liberec region in the first ten years after November 1989. The thesis focuses on the period of constituting of the private radio broadcasting in the area. It describes the general conditions for private radio sector establishment after the year 1989 which comprises brief summary of the development in the radio broadcasting after November 1989 and the first phase of the dual broadcasting system constitution. Further it defines the basic range of radio formats which becomes the resource for the programme analysis. The core of the thesis follows the establishment, expansion and stabilisation of the private sector in the Liberec region. It includes only stations acting directly in the Liberec area, it leaves out the national ones or those whose signal interferes to the area from the neighbouring regions. The radio stations establishment and changes are followed at institutional, economic and programme levels. Two methods are apllied - chronological description and programme analysis.

Ways how media inform about extraordinary events

The ways how media inform about extraordinary events have an important influence on determination of people, institutions and organizations. If the state agency is not able to respond on extraordinary events fast enough, the information is published regardless of an institutions{\crq}s opinion. Every in this way established information lives its own life {--} it becomes a source used by other media, it is taken by the broadcast and people discuss it. This status is mostly irreversible. Fast, realistic, pragmatic and complete information means a lot. The real truth of information is the difficult problem and it stands to reason, that all significant subjects should inform their surroundings properly and actively. In this work there are summerized some demands on a press agent, his/her scope of employment, which doesn´t consists only of informing about extraordinary events but also includes the comprehensive long - term cooperation with media. Next there are enumerated sorts of mass media and representatives of individual media applied in the Czech republic There is the description of the possible use of these representatives for information according to ratings, number of printed copies and quantity of people reading newspaper, listening to the radio and watching television. Next there are elaborated possibilities of communication with mass media, which consists of briefings and interview and next there are described principles of communication with media. In this work there are also described sorts of extraordinary events and basic information for population about its origin

Administrative and economic tools of environmental protection

This diploma thesis deals with administrative and economic instruments of environmental protection, which represent the most important groups of instruments of environmental protection. Administrative and economic instruments are means and methods that affect human behavior in relation to environment. The thesis is systematically divided into two main parts and each of them is subdivided into chapters and subchapters. The first part of the thesis is focused generally and provides overview of individual types of administrative and economic instruments with regard to their attributes, functions and effects. The first chapter of the first part deals with individual groups of instruments of environmental protection in general and defines their basic division and brief characteristics. The second and the third chapter deal with more detailed analysis of administrative and economic instruments of environmental protection, their attributes and functions. The fourth chapter contains summary of previous chapters, states the advantages and disadvantages of administrative and economic instruments and shows the mutual relation between these instruments. How Advertisements Influence Self-Perception: A Gender Perspective

Bachelor thesis "How advertising affects self-image: Gender perspective" deals with problems of women's presentation in advertisements. The theoretical part points out the impact of mass media in society and it is supported by gender theories concerning adverising. The empirical part links theory with practice through analysis of semi-structured dialogues. I am searching for how respondents perceive image of feminity in advertisement, how big influent advertisement has on self image, in brief, how respondents perceive beauty myth served by advertisement and how they personally deal with it. This thesis try to show how advertisement by its stereotype's images of feminity and masculinity changed everyday life of real male and female.

62 Grounds for termination of a commercial contract: summary and keywords The thesis you are about to read deals with the concept of termination of a contract (sometimes referred to as withdrawal from a contract, "odstoupení od smlouvy" in Czech) under the general provisions of the Czech Commercial Code concerning commercial contractual obligations. This concept is generally perceived as a unilateral remedy designated to resolve the situations of fundamental non-performance of the contract and as such it presents an exception from the principle of preservation of the contract. The thesis focuses namely on general and particular grounds for termination. The purpose of the thesis is to compare the scope in which this remedy is available to the aggrieved party under the general provisions of the Czech Commercial Code as interpreted by relevant doctrine and case law with the standard scope under various international legal documents. This Bachelor Thesis deals with territorial polarity socio-economic differentiation in Germany. The main goal of the Thesis is followed on the base of chosen indicators which are divided into three groups (social, economic, and the others). Gross domestic product, divorce rate, total population growth or proportion of foreigners living in Germany are examples of chosen indicators. Although the Thesis is mainly focused on the issue of Germany, brief description of Germany in Europe is also included. Final results are focused on specifying degree of polarity and defining determinations which involve the character of particular regions.
