800 meters elite runner training analysis
Kužílek, Ondřej ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Abstract Title: 800 meters elite runner training analysis Objectives: The main goal of my thesis deals with pedagogical evaluation of 800 meters elite runner training process. It concerns analysis of teoretical background esential for the performance growth of the two annual macrocycles through 2007/2008 and 2008/2009. I mainly focused on the relationship between the volumes of general and specific training indicators and achieved performance indicator in tracked event. The conslusion of the work should provide us with recommendations for the training process improvement in future periods. Methods: The education analysis of training process is based on the values that were obtained by content analysis of training documents and training records of the coach. I used a percentage expression for a quantitative comparison. For the qualitative comparison I used a distribution of training indicators devided into 17 categories, 5 as indicators of general training and 12 as special indicators. Results: The growth of sports performance in 800 meters discipline was primarily achieved by training loads of special training indicators and focus on its main field. The resulting performance was most influenced by changes in speed and special endurance development, which were supported by the growth of tempo and...

Polyethylene wear particles around joint replacements - their properties, distribution and possible mechanism of their adverse biological effects
Zolotarevová, Eva
This PhD thesis in essence rounds off the range of queries asked several years ago when the task was set by Doc. RNDr. Zdenek Horak, PhD. The original isolation procedure for polyethylene wear particles, identification of some of their physico-chemical properties and manipulation accordingly has been successful in the process of this thesis accomplishment. It became possible to quantify the particles at relative as well as absolute scale. The thesis managed to disprove the published opinion that centrifugation can affect the morphology of isolated particles. The issue of distribution of polyethylene wear particles around hip endoprothesis has been solved at two levels: "macroscopically", the distribution of wear particles in zones around endoprosthesis was showed (this thesis does not include these data). Furthermore, at the "microscopic" level, the distribution of wear particles in granuloma tissue from the zones surrounding endoprostheses with most particles has been determined. The granuloma tissue formed in zones with most particles because of that. It was observed that the common term - osteoagressive granuloma - used by orthopedist is rather misguided. Granuloma is not aggressive to bone tissue. On the contrary, the granuloma formation reduces the effective amount of wear particles with...

The role of Toxoplasma gondii on the expression of Major Urinary Proteins in the house mouse
Hladovcová, Denisa ; Stopka, Pavel (advisor) ; Hrdý, Ivan (referee)
Major Urinary Proteins (MUP) are pheromonal transmitters involved in chemical communication in rodents. Complexes of MUPs and ligands mediate information about genetical background of an individual and co-create individual scent profile. They play a significant role in kinship determination, the crucial factor in the choice of a mating partner. It is assumed that the MUP production is energetically demanding due to the pressure of sexual selection, and the transmitted signal is thus supposed to be honest. This theory hasn't yet been experimentally tested, neither was proven the effect of another intense selection pressure- a parasitic infection. In my thesis, I describe the effect of an infection of a parasite Toxoplasma gondii on MUP production. The results suggest that the production is altered in both sexes, the production decreasing in males to the level of male castrates (or the female level). Considering the results of more detailed analysis of the infection we assume that the energetical demands of the MUP production doesn't allow the production of ordinary amounts if MUPs during the first phase of the infection as the energy is primarily devoted to the infection control. The increased production in latter phase can be attributed to the importance of scent communication. Decreased levels of...

The study of various methods of preparation of the milk sample for milk analysis by ICP-OES technique
Kaňová, Veronika ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Diviš, Pavel (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the chemical composition of cow’s milk, with the description of chosen methods of sample pretreatment and with the description of the used technique ICP-OES. The practical part is aimed at individual preparations of samples and at analysis of chosen chemical elements (Ca, Na, K and Mg). Milk is a really complicated polydisperse system, that’s the reason why the preparation of samples with milk is very important step before the measurement itself. In addition to accuracy choosing the sample adjustment method, other factors such as time, work intensity, or cost need to be considered when. In the thesis a comparison of four selected methods of sample preparation was made: direct analyse of milk, dilution with addition of Triton X-100, wet microwave ashing and destruction of matrix with TMAH (tetramethylammonium hydroxide). Selected elements were analysed with the help of ICP-OES. This diploma thesis builds on the bachelor thesis, which deals with the same problem. Final concentrations were compared with certified values of skimmed powdered milk. Data showed that the most accurate are methods of preparation of wet microwave ashing and destruction of matrix with TMAH. By using these methods, the effect of the dairy matrix that caused problems in the analysis, was largely eliminated. The diluted samples with and without Triton X-100 showed a bigger anomaly of measuring than the mineralization of wet ashing which came to the loss of analyte because of fat elements contained in milk.

The Possibilities in the Efectivity of the Primary Prevention
Hermanová, Lenka ; Ortová, Marie (advisor) ; Roth, Martin (referee)
Knowledges from different researchers showed necessity to begin with primary prevention activities from childhood. This function has primarily family and home - folks, then preJschool education and schools. This thesis is about possibilities how to make the primary prevention for children and young people more effective. Particular attention is paid on the primary prevention programs in schools. But there are other factors very important beyond these activities. And it is homeJfolks, primarily family and peers but also terms in the society. There are very important protective and risk factors, which prevention tends to enhance or tries to minimise. There are a lot of methods and criterias which are very important in these programs to be consider effective. And it is very important to adapt methods and forms of these programs to the age of individual. There are mentioned information about specificity in class of age, various types of programs and methods in this essay. Further information are about the possibilities and approaches, which are indispensable to achive success in the field of primary prevention school programs. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Moderní český novozákonní překlad (Nové zákony dvacátého století před Českým ekumenickým překladem) Modern Czech New Testament Translations (The 20th Century New Testaments before the Czech Ecumenical Translation) PhDr. Josef Bartoň Although a scriptural translation is an important phenomenon in the cultural and spiritual life of the Czech nation and also a part of the Czech theological work from the beginning of Christiantity in the Czech lands to the present time, the work that can be hardly overlooked, the research interest had focused primarily on the older period. Biblical translations from the 19th and 20th centuries are not accounted for (nor the most recent attempts made after 2000). The present study set as its goal a characterization in a more detailed way Czech translations of the New Testament since 1900 and before the work on the Czech ecumenical translation started in 1961.

Prevention children´s selected undesirable behaviour at primary schools in Pilsen.
BURSOVÁ, Zuzana
A prevention of selected undesirable conduct is about to be implemented in all elementary schools through minimum preventive programs. These programs are either compiled by the school itself, or else the school makes use of what various non-profit organizations can supply. In this thesis for bachelor degree I have dealt primarily with prevention and the current problems of the socially undesirable conduct types which are most common at present. These are: bullying, taking of addictive substances, non-drug addiction and hazardous sexual behavior. When working on the practical part, I applied the methods of quantitative research and questioning. For the collection of data, I used the question-form technique. I interviewed pupils in 9th class of three elementary schools in Plzen, which make up my primary data source. The selected group was made of 103 respondents. The aim of my bachelor degree thesis is the find out what degree of awareness there is among the pupils of elementary schools about socially undesirable conduct. The practical part of my thesis deals primarily with the problems encountered in the Plzen{\crq}s elementary schools as compared with those in others regions, the analysis of experience with selected socially undesirable conduct in dependence on the respondents{\crq} age, and the punctuality of primary prevention relevant to the individual types of socially undesirable conduct.

Bioaerosols
Hladíková, Dita ; Hovorka, Jan (referee) ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor)
Bioaerosols and aerobiology are similar terms associated with the study of chemical, physical and biological fields. Bioaerosols in the air is a part of the aerosol containing particles of biological origin, such as viruses, bacteria, fungal spores, house dust mites and pollen. These particles can affect health of living organisms in terms of allergies, toxicity, carcinogenicity or infection and ultimately affect the planet's climate system because of acting as condensation nuclei for the formation of precipitation. The most studied biological effects of the above-mentioned on human health are reported respiratory symptoms and pulmonary diseases. This is due to almost continuous human exposure to these particles, both in the domestic environment, which includes mainly house dust mites, animal allergens, molds and bacteria, and outdoors, where a person is exposed to pollen and outdoor molds. In the case of interference with the climate system of the Earth there is a direct or indirect influence. Indirect effects include the creation of clouds and precipitation, which has the effect on the hydrological cycle of the planet. Scattering and absorption of solar radiation is considered a direct effect on climate change. Foreign literature was a crucial source of information on this topic.

The study of function of (pro)renin receptor in Caenorhabditis elegans
Zima, Vladimír ; Stiborová, Marie (advisor) ; Vaněk, Ondřej (referee)
Prorenin receptor (PRR) plays in the human organism an important role. It is involved in the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), one of the body's major mechanisms important for maintaining the constant plasma concentration of electrolytes. PRR is being used as a therapeutic target for treatment of hypertension and other related diseases. Interestingly, recent studies suggest that PRR is also involved in the Wnt signalling pathway. The Wnt pathway is RAS-independent, evolutionary conserved processes mediating cell signalling. For these reasons, it is of high importance to have proper understanding of PRR function and possible consequences of its inhibition. A homolog of the gene encoding human PRR was found in the genome of the nematode C. elegans. The name of this gene is R03E1.2. In this thesis function of the gene R03E1.2 in the model organism C. elegans was studied. Expression of R03E1.2 during the C. elegans development was monitored with the use of quantitative PCR (qPCR). The gene R03E1.2 is expressed throughout the development of the organism, but primarily during larval development. Localization of the protein R03E1.2 tissue expression in vivo was studied with the use of C. elegans lines expressing protein R03E1.2 tagged with green fluorescent protein (GFP). The protein R03E1.2 is mainly...

Data capture from structured documents
Žižka, Ondřej ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Marešová, Zdena (referee)
The Bachelor thesis is focused primarily on digitalization of structured documents. It describes the process of digitalization and all of its phases. It answers the question why imaging and scanning, what is the best way of doing it and what resources are necessary. Types of scanned documents and the extent of their structuring is also being defined. Most attention is paid to structured documents and their attributes, functions, frequent deficiencies, their optimization and development. Individual parts of such a document as well as their options and recommended settings are described. In the second part of this thesis there is a specific example of a contract with the aim to develop an easily processable document and then perform a data capture. This contract was specified by the company České Energetické Centrum Jih s.r.o.. In this section an appropriate configuration is being showed on particular elements.
