The aim of this bachelor thesis is to translate a part of the first chapter from James Twitchell's The Living Dead: A Study of the Vampire in Romantic Literature (subchapters The Vampire in Folklore, The Influence of Christianity and Other Influences) published in Durham in 1981, and to describe the whole process. The thesis includes three parts: the translation of the source text, the commentary and attachments, which include the source text, a questionnaire used to assess specialized knowledge of recipients, and a chart summarizing its results. The commentary includes four parts. The first one contains a source text analysis. The second one describes the communication situation of the translation and the method of translation. Testing images creation program with defined sub-pixel shift and resize precision

Tato práce se zabývá generování testovacích sub-pixelově posunutých obrazu se známým posuvem. Ty umožní najít vhodné parametry váhové funkce, díky nimž se zpřesní hledání posuvu dvou obrazu. Dále je využito konvoluce s proměnným jádrem ke generování obrazu se změněným měřítkem. K definici konvoluce pro obraz využíváme Fourierovu transformaci. Práce zahrnuje všechnu potřebnou teorii a je přiložen program, který slouží ke generování posunutých obrazů a obrazů se změněným měřítkem.

The object of this bachelor thesis is to translate the first chapter called A history of seduction from Mark Tungate's Fashion brands: branding style from Armani to Zara and to describe theoretically the process. The thesis is comprised of three fundamental parts - translation, commentary and the attached source text. The commentary is divided into four parts. The first one contains an analysis of the source text for the purpose of translation, the second part describes the selected translation method and the relation between the translated text and the original communication situation. The third part of the commentary comprises typology of the problems that occurred during the process of translation and the last part describes the necessary shifts that have been made in the translation.

Supervisor's e-mail address: kurka@cts.cuni.cz Abstract: The thesis concerns itself with Möbius number systems. These systems represent points using sequences of Möbius transformations. We are mainly inter- ested in representing the unit circle (which is equivalent to representing R ∪ {∞}). The main aim of the thesis is to improve already known tools for proving that a given subshift-iterative system pair is in fact a Möbius number system. We also study the existence problem: How to describe iterative systems resp. subshifts for which there exists a subshift resp. iterative system such that the resulting pair forms a Möbius number system. While we were unable to provide a complete answer to this question, we present both positive and negative partial results. As Möbius number systems are also subshifts, we can ask when a given Möbius number system is sofic. We give this problem a short treatment at the end of our thesis. Determination of rock blocks movements

My bachelor thesis deals with the determination of rock blocks movement above subsidance of Bílá voda stream, not far away from Holštejn village, in the area of Moravský kras. The thesis is connected with the results of previous years since 2004 until 2013. The accomplishment is to successfully measure the stage number 20 in the beginning of July 2015, then process the measured data and thereafter evaluate the achieved movements. The results are mutually analyzed and compared with the results of previous years.

Nonlinear dynamic analysis of structures with seismic loads

Diploma thesis compares the methods for the calculation of the response of structures with seismic loads. Linear and nonlinear analyses are used for the calculations. In the case of linear analysis response spectrum method is applied. For nonlinear analysis pushover method is used. These two methods are compared in programs AxisVM and RFEM on the examples of high-rise building and space frame.

Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete

Diploma thesis is focused on the description of the parameters of nonlinear material models of concrete, which are implemented in a computational system LS-DYNA, interacting with performance of nonlinear test calculations in system LS-DYNA on selected problems, which are formed mainly by simulations of tests of mechanical and physical properties of concrete in uniaxial compressive and tensile on cylinders with applying different boundary conditions and by simulation of bending slab, with subsequent comparison of some results of test calculations with results of the experiment. The thesis includes creation of appropriate geometric models of selected problems, meshing of these geometric models, description of parameters and application of nonlinear material models of concrete on selected problems, application of loads and boundary conditions on selected problems and performance of nonlinear calculations in a computational system LS-DYNA. Evaluation of results is made on the basis of stress-strain diagrams and load-displacement diagrams based on nonlinear calculations taking into account strain rate effects and on the basis of hysteresis curves based on nonlinear calculations in case of application of cyclic loading on selected problems. Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete is made on the basis of comparison of some results of test calculations with results obtained from the experiment.

Geodetic Deformation Measurement of Roof Structures of Brno Aquapark

Diploma thesis is focused on deformation meassurement of wooden roof structure of Brno Aquapark. Introductory part of the thesis is devoted to explanation of basic terms of civil constructions deformation meassurement and describes methods which are used in this field nowadays. Main part of this thesis deals with testing of meassuring equipment, describes meassured construction, meassuring method and data processing. Horizontal and vertical shifts of the roof structure are evaluated and graphically interpreted in comparison with the previous and fundamental epoch.

Determination of rock blocks movements

The diploma thesis deals with monitoring of movements of rock blocks and boulders near of the Bíla voda stream sink Nová Rasovna. The aim of thesis is to measure of the 18th stage and 19th stage in year 2013. The thesis follows on the results obtained in years 2004-2012. Achieved results are mutually compared and analysed towards the results of previous periods. The final results are shown numerically and graphically.
