Moral Hazard in Corporate Governance

The thesis analyzes moral hazard in corporate governance and brings in actual theoretical knowledge on the topic. It examines four examples of the companies which went bankrupt due to moral hazard of their top management: Enron, WorldCom, Parmalat and IPB. All case studies are assessed in accordance with OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. At the end of the thesis, there are mentioned impacts on legislature and suggestions of possible solutions.

The Changes in Germany's Foreign Policy from the Unification to the Present

Foreign policy of Germany has gained due to its special development in the post-war period some unique traits -- strong multilateral and westward orientation and civilian character. German unification became a turning point in this respect. The country was confronted with the necessity to find its new place within the changing international system. This paper focuses on the subsequent changes of foreign policy. Its purpose is to evaluate the change or continuity of these unique traits on one side and to describe Germany's new role in the international relations on the other. The initial step is to picture the function of bodies involved in shaping the foreign policy - government, parliament, individual federal countries and president. Further on the paper outlines the main events of German unification, restoring its full international subjectivity. The core descriptive part is divided in three main segments in terms of the personality leading the government, the chancellor. It first gives an account of foreign policy of the "Kohl era", continues with Schröder government and closes with foreign policy of Angela Merkel. With the view of the complexity of such a task the paper focuses on selected policy areas only -- European integration, transatlantic cooperation and partnership with Russia being among them.

Disc Herniation in the Lumbar Spine and Selected Options in Therapy

Up to 80 % of the population has low back pain during their lives. Possible causes include degenerative changes in the lumbar spine affecting adjacent vertebrae with end plates, intervertebral joints with articular capsule, fibrous apparatus and intervertebral discs. Due to biomechanical influences they are able to prolapse dorsally into the spinal canal and cause a compression of nervous structures. The compression of the nerve root doesn't manifest clinically only pain in the lower back but also by the radicular syndrome. The work deals with options in therapy of patients with disc herniation. It presents general principles of indicating strategies of conservative and neurosurgical treatment and different methods of both therapies. The McKenzie methodical technique, including the diagnosis and treatment of syndromes due to prolapse disc from the conservative therapy is described in detail. The Chapter "Therapy Mckenzie" introduces the mechanical principle that underlies the patient examination and treatment acquaint with mechanical principle that is the basis of investigation and treatment of patient. Also included is a case study that shows the McKenzie method approach to the patient and what the procedure for resolving the patient's difficulties should be. Molecular modelling - Structure and Properties of carbene-based catalyst

Molekulové modelování umožňuje předpovídat chování nových látek a napomáhá při jinak obtížné interpretaci experimentálních dat. Záměrem našeho studia byla predikce vybraných vlastností polymeračních katalyzátorů na bázi karbenů, predikce jejich struktur a spektrálních charakteristik. K ověření chování karbenů a jejich prekurzorů ve formě chloridů byly studovány vybrané charakteristiky molekuly. Byla provedena vizualizace vybraných molekulových orbitalů a map elektrostatických potenciálů a elektronových hustot. Následně pomocí počítačových programů byly získány teoretické vazebné délky a úhly vybraných imidazolových a imidazolinových sloučenin a z nich připravených karbenů. Data strukturně podobných, již charakterizovaných sloučenin, byla získána z CCDC (Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre) a následně konfrontována s námi vypočítanými daty. Byla změřena infračervená (IČ) a Ramanova spektra imidazolové soli a IČ spektrum příslušného karbenu. Tato spektra byla konfrontována s napredikovanými.

Design a suitable e-commerce software solution

The purpose of this paper is to summarize current knowledge about electronic trading and to outline the benefits and drawbacks of potential software solutions in electronic trading. This paper is focused not only on theoretical findings and bases, relating to electronic trading, but also on the possibilities of establishing such trading within the confines of the Czech environment. Its goal is to select a suitable open source software solution for electronic trading based on predefined criteria and to warn of potential challenges relating to it. This paper should contemporaneously serve to help an individual interested in establishing electronic trading to decide which solution is the most appropriate, even if he/she selects a product that is not open source. This should serve, in such a case, as a methodical set of instructions that guides the individual to select the correct solution. Among other aspects, this paper should also help an individual interested in electronic trading to decide, whether or not an open source solution is suitable, and if there is any merit in exploring this option.

XML specification proposal of electronically signed documents with timestamp.

Cílem diplomové práce bylo vypracovat návrh XML specifikace elektronicky podepsané zdravotnické dokumentace s časovým razítkem. V úvodu práce jsou definovány základní pojmy a principy digitálního podpisu. Následující kapitola obsahuje popis klasického obecného archivu. Archiv zdravotnické dokumentace se však od toho klasického liší. Dokumenty nejsou archivovány natrvalo avšak pouze po dobu specifikovanou legislativou. To je základní specifikum. Zdravotnická dokumentace má však další specifika, ze kterých je nutné vycházet. Dokumenty budou do archivační skupiny neustále přibývat, bude proměnlivá doba archivace zdravotnické dokumentace v závislosti na událostech v pacientově životě a dalším problémem je i fakt, že neexistuje závazná specifikace formální podoby zdravotnické dokumentace. Navrhovaná XML specifikace vychází z rozšířené základní syntaxe XML podpisu o elementy pro oblast archivace (XAdES-A) a ze specifikace základních metadat popsané ve standardu Dublin Core. Specifikace byla tvořena s cílem maximální univerzálnosti pro použití v oblasti zdravotnictví.

The Issues of Spread of Slender Meadow Foxtail(Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) on Arable Land and the Methods of its Regulation.

This research paper focuses on One Year Slender Meadow Foxtail weed and options for its regulation. Slender Meadow Foxtail has become a significantly localized weed and it is necessary to stop it from spreading further. In certain locations the presence of One Year Slender Meadow Foxtail is very high; for example in Zitmunice in the district of Ceske Budejovice. This weed is to be found mainly in winter grain (cereal), rape (canola) growth, free growing spring grain (cereal), and also in clover growth. This paper describes the presence of One Year Slender Meadow Foxtail in spring barley and different methods of regulating its presence. Experiments with whether the amount of herbicide influences the regulation of weed growth have been carried out at selected locations.

Barriers to eCommerce

The purpose of the diploma thesis was to analyze developing area of e-commerce, to identify barriers and propose solutions or measures to eliminate obstacles, namely to eShop O2.cz.
It was used theoretical foundations created under a study themed literature and available sources of information.
The practical part consisted of using polling, both in electronic and personal form. The obtained data were analyzed in order to verify the established hypothesis. Results of the questionnaire survey pointed to a lack of communication free transportation and payment methods eShop O2.cz, while recommendations were made for improving the conversion rate between visits and completed orders.

Electronic elections and impementation of electronic elections in Free Citizens Party

This thesis deals with the e-voting implementation in the Free Citizens Party. It contents research and practical part. The research deals with elections and e-voting solutions of elections, while the practical part is about the analysis and the implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party. The first objective is to provide knowledge that is necessary for the practical part of the thesis by research of these issues and already implemented solutions of electronic elections over the world. The second goal is to prepare the functional implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party. The analysis and solution proposal of the implementation are made to meet this goal. The author contribution consists in meeting goals of the thesis. During the thesis processing is done a research of elections and electronic elections. After acquiring this knowledge, the author made the analysis, solution proposal of the implementation and the implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party.
