"Reflections on Religion: Richard Wright and James Baldwin"

The thesis seeks to explore how religion is depicted in the works of two of the most influencial African American authors of the 20th century, Richard Wright and James Baldwin. The analysis takes as framework Wright and Baldwin's mutual discussions about how to properly articulate the African American experience in literature. The thesis examines an autobiographical work and a novel by each author. In Wright's case, the books that are discussed are his two-volume autobiography, which consists of a first part dealing with Wright's childhood and early youth in the American South, called Black Boy, and a second part, American Hunger, recounting his adult life in the North. Furthermore, his major novel Native Son is analyzed. In the case of Baldwin, The Fire Next Time, i.e. two essays which elaborate on different episodes from Baldwin's life, and the novel Go Tell It on the Mountain are examined. The discussion is completed by insights offered by Wright in his essay "How 'Bigger' Was Born", and by Baldwin in the essays "Everybody's Protest Novel", "Many Thousands Gone", and "Alas, Poor Richard!" Central Asia in the context of energy security

The study works with the paradigm of energy security of supply in the context of three Central Asian republics; Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It focus on the relations related to gas and oil. The subjects are analyzed from the point of their own energy strategy, institutions' efficiency as well as position in the energy market. The analysis deals with the main external actors; Russia, China and European Union. A great stress is laid on the evolution in gas and oil trading and the energy infrastructure in the region. Problems of relation between energy, security and politics are included. I try to cover the main trends in the gas and oil market and put them in the context of Central Asia. My conclusions limit the popular scheme of russian dominance and stress the growing cooperation with China, in contrast to EU. However, the growing interconnection of the euroasian gas market is also very important.

Market analysis of industrial marking lasers and draft marketing strategy for the company MEGAFLEX

This master thesis is focuses on a market analysis of industrial marking lasers in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part are described appropriate methods of strategic analysis for Business-to-Business market. The strategic analysis is divided into two parts, descriptive and comparative one. The application part characterizes the market of industrial marking lasers and describes also macro, micro and internal environment of the company MEGAFLEX. A partial goal of this thesis is to propose a marketing strategy, which can be used as a basis for the development of strategic marketing plan.

The use of subsidies for the construction and repair of local roads in the South Bohemia Region

In the context of this thesis was analyzed the current state of the use of subsidies for the construction and repair of local roads in the South Bohemia Region in the period 2007-2013. The outcome of this work are four proposed measures reflect comments mayors to grant titles. These measures lead to increased efficiency grants and disclosure of municipalities in the region.

My diploma work Ivan Olbracht. Pokus o monografickou studii (Ivan Olbracht. An attempt of a monographic study) deals with author's life but the most important part above all there is his work and effects which had an influence on it. The diploma work is divided into six chapters. There is a certain period of Olbracht's writing and his publicistic and political activities in each of them. The first chapter is about Olbracht's life and there is a summary of his work as well. System of emloyee benefits in the company SLUŽBY MĚSTA JIHLAVY s.r.o.

The objective of this thesis is to assess the current status of employee benefits in practice, and the trends emerging in this area. The thesis first focuses on the characteristics of employee benefits in general, with a view to their growing importance, characteristics of the advantages and drawbacks of a fixed versus flexible system of benefit introduction, including tax impacts from the point of view of both the employer and employee. The thesis further analyzes the situation in the area of employee benefits in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis assesses an employee benefit system introduced in a purely Czech company, SLUŽBY MĚSTA JIHLAVY s.r.o., and compares developments experienced in the last few years. The level of employee satisfaction with the benefits and other options being offered by the company was also examined. The evaluation of the outcome of the analysis includes proposals for resolution of the shortcomings found in the process.

The thesis analyzes media's ability to establish their chosen issues and thus affect the relevance of the political groups, leading to better outcomes of selected politicians in elections The thesis is based on the assumption of rational ignorance and the assumption of voters choosing between political parties that have a real chance to be elected. The hypothesis is that the very relevance of a political group is determined by media. Empirical research is based on the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic in 2013.

Economic consequences of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993

The aim is to analyze the economic and political aspects of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993 in the context of monetary separation and further analyze its impact on monetary indicators in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The thesis provides a comprehensive view of the development of relations within Czechoslovakia after 1989 and monetary separation in 1993. First, attention is focused on description and analysis of economic and political relations between the two nations, which are demonstrated in the illustrative examples of the development of Czechoslovakia between 1989 and 1993. Then analyzes the preparation, conduct and impact of monetary separation on the inflation rate, balance of payments, interest rates and foreign exchange reserves, and consequently macroeconomic indicators are compared both newly formed states. The thesis is written for use with the description, analysis and comparison. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that the collapse of the state was no longer possible in 1993 to avoid. It can be concluded that the monetary separation had no immediate impact on the study of monetary indicators. Based on comparison of selected macroeconomic indicators of the countries we were able to demonstrate that in the first years after the collapse of the federation with the Czech economy developed better and more stable than Slovak Republic. Implementation and results of the disintegration of Czechoslovakia and the associated monetary separation can be considered as a basis for solving current problems eg. In any disintegration of the common currency in the European Union or the possible dissolution of several national states. A proper currency separation in 1993 had a negative impact on the development of monetary variables surveyed states.

Analysis of the legal aspects of doing business in the Czech Republic and Germany

The thesis analyzes competitiveness and related business environment in the Czech Republic and Germany, also examines the legislative environment prevailing in both countries. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter determines the position of the two states in international competitiveness rankings. In the second chapter selected areas of the business environment are described, evaluated and compared. The final chapter is about starting a business in the Czech Republic, Germany. The thesis analyzes problems of cross-border activities of employees. Common features of both states and their differences are compared in order to be the inspiration for legal changes.
