Financial project of multimedia laboratory equipment at the University of Economics
Seko, Martin ; Krsek, Libor (advisor) ; Sušánková, Martina (referee)
Objective of this thesis is to analyze funding possibilities of hardware and software equipment in the multimedia laboratory at the University of Economics and create project of funding this equipment. The document will be conceived as well arranged view of funding situation in the Czech Republic. It will be usable as directions as well to those who will try to find a solution of similar situation in the future. Technical utilities in laboratories and scientific workplaces in general are often very expensive. The simplest way how to fund this equipment is to use university financial sources. However, financial position of academic subjects is not simple. Subjects don't work out about amount of their budgets and subsidiary gainful activity is very complicated. They must seek for financial support of their projects generally. There are number of funding possibilities, from academic grants and funds of Ministry of Education up to European Union purpose-built capitation grants. Assignment of these coffers is governed by strict rules and especially depends on subject activities, which will be financed from them.

Šušla, Martin ; Svobodová, Kateřina ; Tavčar, M. ; Pavko, A. ; Novotný, Čeněk
The work is focused on the ligninolytic capacity of two white-rot fungi, Irpex lacteus and Dichomitus squalens, cultivated in their immobilized form. We measured the production of ligninolytic enzymes (Mn-dependent peroxidase, lignin peroxidase, laccase) by the two fungi immobilized on polyurethane foam or pine wood in a fixed bed laboratory-scale bioreactor. The results were compared to the activity profiles of static liquid cultures of the fungi. Decolorization of an azo dye Reactive Orange 16 by the immobilized cultures of I. lacteus in three different bioreactor systems was also studied as well as the production of ligninolytic enzymes during the decolorization process. The highest dye decolorization efficiency (70% in 2 days) was observed in a small size trickle bed reactors

Calcium aluminate hydrates - laboratory preparation and characterisation
Koplík, Jan ; Opravil, Tomáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
Calcium aluminate phases are important parts of Ordinary Portland cement and Alumina cement. Various calcium aluminate hydrates originate during the hydration of calcium alumina phases. Their origin depends on the conditions of hydration. In the diploma thesis was investigated hydration of four calcium aluminate phases – CA, CA2, C12A7, C3A under the conditions of four pH – 6, 9, 11, 12,65. Calcium aluminate phases were prepared from CaCO3 and Al2O3 by clinkering in solid phase in laboratory oven. The phases were hydrated for 48 hours. Kinetics of the hydration was investigated by calorimetry. Calcium aluminate hydrates were identified by XRD and DTA.

Sukcese lesních společenstev v lomech na granit a mramor
Madaj, René
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of initial soils of representative sites of selected quarries in the northern Moravia. All sites and independent initial soils formed on different soil-forming substrates and presented results deals with impact of chemically different substrate on the settlement of pioneer tree species. Three model granite quarries were selected (Žulový vrch, Arcibiskupský lom, Vycpálkův lom) , and also three marble quarries (Vápenná, Horní Lipová -- Smrčník, Supíkovice) were selected to compare different lithologies and evolution of chemically different initial soils. All representative locations for soil sampling and additionala laboratory analysis of selected physical properties of soils were done to compare different soil conditions on the different parental rocks. XRF spectrometer was used to determine major macroelements (Si, Ca, Al). Distinct differences were observed in the natural vegetation and trees colonization during phytosociological survey, depending on different chemistry of parental rock and initial soils.

Some psychophysiological circumstances of resilience
Šolcová, Iva ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (advisor) ; Břicháček, Václav (referee) ; Řehulka, Evžen (referee)
A question of an association between selected components of resilience and lowered level of psychophysiologic response to mental load has been addressed in three field studies and one laboratory study. Three studies were conducted with adult subjects; one study was devoted to children. Physical activity, type A/B behaviour pattern, trait anxiety, and hardiness were employed as independent variables in individual studies. Heart rate, heart rate variability and salivary cortisol were used as dependent variables. Protective effect of selected components of resilience has been demonstrated in three of the studies by lowering psychophysiological response to mental load.

The effect of Toxoplasma gondii on the intermediate host
Vosátka, Martin ; Chaloupková, Helena (advisor) ; Hradec, Michal (referee)
Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan parasite, which has a wide spectrum of warm-blooded hosts, human included. It has worldwide occurrence. The most important role for it has a feline, which serves like a definitive host and allows it to proliferate. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to sum up all identified information so far about the possibilities of relationship between protozoan parasite and its intermediate hosts mainly in area of behavior. Laboratory mouse, the most examined animal associated with behavioral changes, was chosen as an intermediate host. This thesis was also aimed on affecting of human behavior by Toxoplasma gondii in general and about problems connected with it, for example connection with mental diseases and higher risk of traffic accidents. Manipulation of mice by Toxoplasma leads to change in basic instincts necessary for survival. It is especially about attraction to feline odour, when the degree of attraction depends on the dose of stimulus. Area of learning and memory was examined at mice model as well. Worsen ability of learning and memory was demonstrated in most cases (Flegr et al., 2014). Also relationship between number of cysts in the brain and worse results were observed (Vyas et al., 2007). Another important area was human reaction time. Infected individuals had slower reactions, which indicates worsen long-term concentration (Havlíček et al., 2001). Worsen concentration plays an important role and it is connected with a chance of susceptibility to accidents and riskiness for drivers. The individuals with latent Toxoplasma had 2,65 times higher chance for traffic accident (Flegr et al., 2002). T. gondii plays an important role in mental diseases, especially in link with schizophrenia. Effective medication of schizophrenia can inhibit T. gondii (Yolken et al., 2009). Schizophrenia often results in suicide attempt. That is why possible link between suicide attempts and presence of the parasite was researched. The study shows connection between antibody levels of T. gondii and suicide attempts, but just in a subgroup of patients younger than 38 years. It is probably because of risk of suicide attempts in schizophrenia appears in earlier phase of the disease (Okusaga et al., 2011).

CONCLUSIONS Major resultsof this PhD thesiscan be summarizedas follows: The real-time RT-PCR has become a tool for detection and quantifrcation of RNA targetsandis being utilized in geneexpressionstudyin our laboratory. The gene expression proÍile of GDF9, during porcine oocytes, cumulus andgranulosacells fu vitro cultivation and in vivo cumulus oocyte expansion was assessed. The obtained partial sequence was up|oaded in EMBL/GenBanlďDDBJ databaseand gene was localized on pig chromosome2. Conhary to mouse,GDFS mRNA was detectedfor the ťrrsttime also in porcine somaticfollicular cells. During cultivation, thetranscriptgraduallydecreasedin all the samples. we studied signalling pathways involved in IGFI promotion of FSH-induced oocyte-cumulusexpansion.we found that IGFI in combinationwith FSH increased the production of HA. The expression of Has2 mRNA in cumulus cells gradually decreasedduring cultivation' our results suggest that the PIK3/AKT dépendent pathwayis involved in the promotionof FSH stimulatedsynthesisof HA in porcine OCCs. Bovine blastocystsdeveloped from fertilized oocýes under different in vitro or in vivo conditions were comparedin the expressionof threegenes(Bax, L37 and S3o/.The embryosdiffer in the abundanceof Bax transcripl the elevatedlevels were detected in blastocyst completely cultivated...

Three phase bone scintigraphy in diagnostics of neuropathic osteoarthropathy in diabetic patients
Krabcová, Ivana ; Lang, Otto (advisor)
As required by the Centre for Preventive Medicine, 3rd Faculty of Medicine at graduation work is necessary to choose a theme and Prevention. The topic of his thesis Three-phase bone scintigraphy in the diagnosis of diabetic neurogenic arthropathy I chose this as a basic condition very well suited. Diabetes mellitus is a disease with high incidence of serious and complications whose research, particularly in the etiology, prevention and therapy, the emphasis in all developed countries. A common complication of diabetes is called diabetic foot. The main etiologic factors leading to the development of diabetic foot, diabetic neuropathy, and ischemia. Serious consequences Diabetic foot ulcers are, gangrene and amputation. Charcot arthropathy (Choate) is one of the complications of patients with diabetic neuropathy. Diagnosis Choate is problematic primarily because that this diagnosis often thinks of a confused with other diseases, especially with osteomyelitis, phlegmon, arthritis or osteoporosis. Determination correct diagnosis depends mainly on the expression of suspicion for this disease medical history and clinical presentation and exclusion of other possible causes by laboratory and imaging methods. In our work we focus on the method of three-phase bone scintigraphy and the possibility of its use in the...

Šišák, David ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of losses of small induction motors. The first part of the project introduces the principle of operation and construction of induction motors. Furthermore, there is dealt with issuing each losses, their origin and disposition in induction motor. The project continues performing the analytical computation of the losses of induction motor with an output of 600 W. The losses of the motor are also calculated in the program Maxvell RMxprt. In the practical part, there are the results of the laboratory measurement on that motor and measurements concerning two another small induction motors different in nominal power. In the last part, there are compared the results of individual motor losses, obtained by computations and measuring. There are also compared the measuring results of losses of chosen motors depending on the nominal output.
