The Comparison of Impacts of Development Aid and Trade Liberalization on the Developing World

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the impacts of development aid and trade liberalization in the developing world and to outline some "partial" or alternative solutions, with a focus on current trends and economic development. The following three fields are taken into account by the evaluation: economic, political and human rights. The first part deals with general characteristics of developing countries and their current position in the world economy. The next two sections focus on the analysis of the effects of development aid (chapter two) and trade liberalization (chapter three). The last section contains some other possible solutions to the problems in the developing world (the importance of remittances and microfinance).
Migration and Its Impact on the Balance of Payments in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the impact of the migration process on the balance of payments in the Czech Republic, more accurately the impact of migration on the current account of the balance of payments in the Czech Republic. The first chapter contains general introduction to the migration process in the European context. At the same time it summarizes the main positive and negative effects of migration on the states economies. The second chapter compares the migration flows in the Czech Republic and it also describes the development of the immigration flow and the development of the emigration of the Czech citizens to foreign countries. The third chapter explains the term remittances and shows their importance in the world as remittances relate to the migration process and also influence the balance of payments of the states. The fourth chapter provides a necessary theoretical frame of the balance of payments. The main fifth chapter analyzes the impact of migration on the balance of payments in the Czech Republic.
The importance of capital flows for Africa

The thesis has for its purpose to depict the importance of the capital flows on the region of Africa, such as of the foreign direct investment, portfolio investment, remattances, loans provided by the Internation Monetary Fund, International Bank for the Reconstruction and Development and by the International Development Association, and the impact of the Official Development Aid. This picture is to be achieved by releaving the macroeconomic characteristics of the region and the evolution of individual flows during the least thirty yaers, and finaly by the outline of positive and negative aspects of these flows on Africa.
Influence of the Migration Process on the Development of the Balance of Payments in the Czech Republic

The content of the thesis is the international labour migration and its impact on the balance of payments in the Czech Republic. The first chapter provides the theoretical framework for the balance of payments, its classification and the principle of international transactions recordings. The following chapter is focused on the international migration flows, the current tendencies and issues. The final parts of the thesis describe the current situation of migrants in the Czech Republic, their impact on the economy development in the context of the income and current transfers of the balance of payments. The main goal of this study is to review how much the labour migration influences the development of the balance of payments in the Czech Repulic.
The role of remittances in economic development of Latin America

The core objective of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact caused by remittance flows in the region of Latin America, which are preceded by the labour migration. The whole work is divided into three parts. The first section deals with international labour migration from a global perspective and explains the main motives for this process. This chapter also mentions the effects that labour migration leaves behind, whether positive or negative. The second part describes migration flows from Latin America. It focuses on different movement directions and their structure, which is important for the volume of sent remittances. The last chapter assesses the impact of remittances on the development of certain areas of the economy of Latin America.
Remittances and their comparison with ODA in selected countries of West Africa

This bachelor thesis compares remittances and official development assistance in Ghana and Nigeria. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part the reader is familiar with the theoretical definition of remittances and ODA. The second part describes the situation in the area of remittances in Ghana and Nigeria - including the quantification of the flows of remittances. This section also describes the use and transfer of remittances in the region. The last part compares ODA and remittances in Ghana and Nigeria. The comparison is done primarily by quantification of both flows and their impact on the population and economy of the country. The aim of this thesis is to provide the reader some useful information about remittances and ODA in Ghana and Nigeria.
Remittances in the Republic of Moldova and impact of global economic crisis to their flows

The main goal of this thesis is to describe the development of remittance flows to the Republic of Moldova and summarize their change during the period of global economic crisis. Moldova is a typical example of country dependent on remittance inflows. In recent years Moldova became one of the countries with highest share of remittances on GDP. In the rest of the thesis also the present condition of global and Czech remittances will be presented.

Impacts of migration flows on labour markets

Thesis analyzes problems of labour migration especially from European Union's point of view. Two introductory chapters provide theoretical base by defining intellectual currents of international migration and describing the most important contemporary migration flows. Third part analyzes attitudes of countries towards labour migration. The emphasis is in particular placed on common immigration and integrating arrangements of EU members. Final chapter describes remittances, finances shipped by labour migrants to their domiciles of origin, which are intensifying every year.
Impact of migration on the balance of payments of the Czech Republic

The content of this study is the issue of labour force migration and its impacts on economics. The first two chapters discuss the theoretic basis of the phenomena of migration and introduce us the balance of payments. A precise explanation of its horizontal and vertical structure is fundamental for the understanding of the following chapters. In the second part of the thesis a practical application of theories and statistical data is carried out. The changes in the employment of foreign workers in the Czech Republic as well as the migration flows of Czech workers to foreign countries since the break up of Czechoslovakia are to be measured and evaluated. Remittances in the flow of time will be observed and their impacts studied. The main goal is to find out the dimensions in which labour force migration influences the Czech balance of payments.
