Detection and Recognition of ARMD Disease Impacts to the Human Eye Retina
Stančíková, Ivana ; Semerád, Lukáš (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This thesis aims to create a software able to detect symptoms of age-related macular degeneration in images of human eye retina. This condition is considered one of the leading causes of vision loss in older adults. Lesions of the macular area called drusen are the first and also the most distinctive sign of developing ARMD. The approach presented in this thesis utilizes methods of image processing and computer vision to recognize retinal structures, in particular the optical disk and blood vessels, and distinguish between these structures and actual symptoms of the disease. The evaluation of the program's success rate was performed on 692 images originating from four databases. The resulting solution has the potential to assist medical professionals with earlier diagnosis of the disease and thus contribute to prevention of severe vision loss.
Illness Detection in Eye Retina Image
Aubrecht, Tomáš ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Semerád, Lukáš (advisor)
Age-related macular degeneration is one of the most common retinal diseases of the human eye that leads at different rates to blindness. This disease occurs in two forms. While the wet can slow down its progression, for dry form there is no available treatment method so far, so prevention is the most important. For this reason, the aim of this work is to design and implement software that allows automatic detection of the symptoms of this disease from retinal images. The symptom detection algorithm is based on adaptive thresholding which obtains suspicious areas that are subsequently categorized. 407 retinal images were used for the evaluation and the software was highly successful. When used in conjunction with an optical retinal scanner, it helps ophthalmologists, for example, to diagnose more quickly.
Analysis of the Usual Time of a Driver Observing Specific Objects
Fujačková, Hedvika ; Semela, Marek (referee) ; Bucsuházy, Kateřina (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on drivers of motor vehicles and the usual time they spend by specific objects. The theoretical part of the thesis brings an overview of literature on human perception. The eye-tracker is defined here as the instrument used for scanning the movements of the drivers eyes, here are also named its types and its applications in various fields of life. Finally, this part deals with the advertisements placed alongside roads acting as distractive elements. The experimental part builds upon the collected video recordings and offers an analysis of drivers’ observations of outdoor advertisements that attract their attention, mainly billboards.
Segmentation of choroid blood vessels in 3D images from optical coherence tomography
Maňkoš, Richard ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Štohanzlová, Petra (advisor)
This project deals with segmentation of choroid blood vessels in 3D images from optical coherence tomography. The first part is dedicated to theoretical description of the human eye. The second part describes basic information about the optical coherence tomography. In the third part two techniques, which are used on the blood vessels segmentation are described. The last part is practical and deals with an image processing in software OCTSEG and with own created algorithm for blood vessel segmentation.
Application for Practicing Rapid Reading Techniques
Sokol, Miroslav ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Main goal of this bachelor´s thesis is creation user interface for correct fast reading practise. Four moduls train various abilities of human eyes in regard to average and advanced reader. Application was created as WinForm and thematically is connected with human sight, which hide incredible potential for most of people. The bachelor´s thesis analyse features of eye, individual types of exercises, implementation, concrete developement of user interface and users reactions from their own testing.
The influence of microclimate on the inside glass objects
Dvořáková, Hana ; Ell, Jiří (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the influence of glazing on the microclimate inside buildings. In particular, I focused on the shading coefficient and the various factors that affect it. The thesis also concentrates on the origin and composition of the solar radiation, the formation of thermal stress and refraction. In the next part of the thesis, I focused on designing two variants of shielding factor and its impact on the thermal load of gym, sports hall and the related necessary changes. The last part of the thesis deals with experimental measurements of incident solar radiation passing through the window into real physical model. From the measured values, we determined realistic shading coefficient and then applied it in the previous section of this thesis.
Identification of human iris
Horníček, Vladimír ; Maršálek, Roman (referee) ; Frýza, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis deals with eye iris human identification. The main advantage of eye iris human identification is individuality and accuracy of human eye iris. In the beginnig of this thesis there are described the main biometrics terms. The second part of this work engages theoretical basics of identification system activity and functionality. By using theoretical datas, there is designed and created an aplication in the Matlab simulation program. This aplication is able to creates and then compares the iris human. In the end of this thesis there are a results analysis.
Photobiological safety of light sources and lighting systems
Štěpánek, Jaroslav ; Krbal, Michal (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the problems of the photobiological lamp and lamps systems safety. It is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part touches the basic knowledge concerning the eye and vision, eye and skin diseases caused by excessive exposure to non-ionizing radiation. And besides that there are described the sources of light causing the possible exposure and further more it includes the methodology of measurement and evaluation of photobiological safety. The practical part investigates a measurement of the spectrum of light sources. The measured data are evaluated according to the methods mentioned in the theoretical part.
System for Eye Movement Monitoring
Vojtíšek, Jiří ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
This work deals with eye tracking systems and possibility of using them for control of many software or hardware devices. Project explains eye anatomy and electrophysiology, types of eye trackers and methods of eye tracking. We studied methods of image processing and image analyzing in LabVIEW development system and IMAQ Vision subsystem. On the base of these studies, we created whole eye tracking system .This system can be used for both the eye tracking from video recording and real time eye tracking. This system can monitor position or trajectory of look.
Software for retinal image processing
Magula, Filip ; Fiala, Jiří (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with practical solutions of software for retinal images digital processing. The theoretic part describes human eye and retinal anatomy and also glaucoma disease. It is also focused on description of method for retinal nerve fiber layer enhancement and analysis. These enhancement are then used for designing of automated image processing. One chapter is devoted to detection and analysis of retinal nerve fibers layer. The practical part includes the user manual for application Image Blockz, which was established within this thesis. Further practical part contains the programmer's manual describing the basic structure of the program and its possible extensions.
