The Perceptions of Pre-service Special- and General-Education Teachers on the Inclusion of Children with Special Needs in the Regular Classroom By: Franchez Lynette Torres ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to explore the perceptions of pre-service special- and general- education teachers in the Philippines about the inclusion of children with special needs (CSN) in the regular classroom. Teacher perception has been found to be a significant factor on implementing inclusion (Norwich, 1994; Elliot, 2008; Avramidis & Norwich, 2002). However, studies on this topic are lacking in the Philippines. The study employed a mixed method approach using both semi-structured interviews and survey using an adapted version of Saloviita's (2015) Teacher Attitudes to Inclusion Scale. The interviews were analysed using a thematic analysis and the survey data was analysed using two-way t-tests. The study determined that pre-service teachers in the Philippines had different sentiments about their prior experience and training on teaching CSN. Participants also had different definitions and understanding of inclusion. Moreover, the participants shared their concerns about the lack of sufficient teacher training and the current educational situation of the country as potential barriers to implementing inclusion. Lastly, the...

The further education of teachers' is a very complex area. Its development started in previous centuries. The importance of this area is not decreasing. On the contrary, it is still rising. In spite of the clear importance of the further education, the fact is that it is one of the least solved areas. Questions connected with these problems touch many branches. One of such questions is who and how should teach teachers and what kinds of methods and forms are the most proper. Very important is also the solution of legal support, either the fact that the further education is not legally established or the certification of training programmes. Teachers used to be respected by the whole society. Without re-establishing of this original view the situation can not change. Verification of the Educational Programme for Swimming Instructors Working with the Disabled The aim of my work is to verify the quality of the didactic method used in the training program, which has participants at the elementary level to prepare for the role swimming instructor for the handicapped. This is a specific area richly entwined interesting, sometimes seemingly disparate fields such as sport and disability, rehabilitation and enjoyable experiences help not in the sense of "charity" but rather as an accompaniment to search their maximum possibilities and boundaries with a final, unexpected profit to both sides. In this research, we want to verify that the selected didactic approach and content can interconnect areas mentioned in a meaningful whole. Whether the training conforms to the participants as an educational program where there is a predetermined learning knowledge and skills. Whether met their expectations and that they are taught content usable in practice. There is also the possibility of longer-term profit not only from the knowledge gained, but a kind of enrichment inside man through principles that are in a training program instructor communicated and that appears. I wondered also how the participants perceive teachers as speech and access to participants and trainer přednášenému...
