Global financial crisis and its impacts on the economy of the Russian Federation
Bolotov, Ilya ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Petříček, Václav (referee) ; Baláž, Peter (referee) ; Fingerland, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis describes and analyses the problem of the global financial and economic crisis and its influence on the Russian economy. It constitutes a synthesis of main approaches to the crisis' examination from the years 2008-2011 and develops its own theoretical model for explaining the crisis' emergence and spreading in an open economy, and also analyses in detail the state of the Russian economy and anti-crisis measures. The thesis is based on assumptions that the crisis could have been explained and foreseen theoretically with the help of macroeconomic models, that the anti-crisis policy was in majority of cases inefficient, and that the problems of the Russian economy were caused not only by the global recession, but also by its internal imbalances. On the methodological side, the thesis is based on the ideas of the Austrian and Keynesian economics (the Austrian business cycle model and post- and neo-Keynesian branches) and the financial crises economics and partly on selected thoughts of the Marxian economics, and is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, the attention is given to the four main heterodox theoretical approaches to explaining financial and economic crises and to the development of a synthetic model. In the second chapter, the reasons, course and main previsions of the U.S. and global crisis are examined and the synthetic model from the first chapter is empirically tested. In the third chapter, the degree of the crisis' influence on different groups of countries is estimated, followed by a description of its main transmission channels and an analysis of anti-crisis measures at the global level. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the specifics of the Russian economy, its development during the crisis and to the anti-crisis policy of the Russian government and of the Central Bank of Russia. The thesis attempts to fill the gap in the existing economic literature by presenting new findings in the above-mentioned areas.

Female heroines in the English gothic novel
Challyjeva, Aknur ; Nováková, Soňa (advisor) ; Kolinská, Klára (referee)
In a brilliant parody of the Gothic novel Jane Austen jokes about the differences between men and women, claiming that the former read history and the latter only novels. The novel mentioned above is Northanger Abbey, and the young heroine affected by reading novels is Catherine Morland. Albeit she enjoys reading novels and in particular Gothic novels, she is still somewhat ashamed of her taste in literature. However, her embarrassment decreases when she hears that the object of her adoration is also greatly fond of Mrs. Ann Radcliffe's writing: "I am very glad to hear it, indeed: and now I shall never be ashamed of liking Udolpho myself. But I really thought before, young men despised novels amazingly."1 Austen's tone is only gently mocking her heroine's taste in literature, on the contrary she acknowledges the genius of Ann Radcliffe and other great novelists of the time. Indeed, if her sarcasm is targeted against anyone, it would be against the literary critics and the general population who discarded the Gothic novel as a trifling genre read by women. It is striking since Gothic novels are not exactly what could be called a proper reading for young women. The novels portray all types of violence and cruelty, they tell stories of incest, unbelievable brutality, and horrors. In the case of Ann Radcliffe...

Analýza financování neziskových organizací
Polcarová, Linda ; Vávrová, Hana (advisor) ; Boukal, Petr (referee)
The creation of local inter-sector partnerships (the so called Local Action Groups) of the Czech Republic which are based on the LEADER principle was instigated by the activity of other member states of the EU. Since 2004 European and mainly Czech grant policy has been supporting the possible formation of partnerships among the non-profit, private and public sphere in the Czech Republic and its formalization into organizations with relevant legal personality. After several challenges of the "LEADER ČR" and "LEADER +" programmes in the years 2004 -- 2006, there are about 150 Czech functional LAGs (which are called 'MAS' in Czech) which can participate in the LEADER 2007 -- 2013 programme, i.e. in the last planned European grant programme for LAGs in the Czech Republic. If they do not succeed with their requests in the two planned LEADER challenges, future existence of these unsuccessful organizations will be questionable. The aim of my diploma thesis is to explain the developing situation of LAGs in the Czech Republic, to state the possibilities of operating and drawing the sources for financing the LAGs outside the Programme for Rural Development -- Axis IV. LEADER, and financing from other grant programmes which are available for LAGs. The thesis points out that the management of some LAGs is able to create their own financial and non-financial sources in the organization. In diploma thesis also try to find another financial sources for this well established and good functioning organizations with considering their constitution.
