Database design for communication of a particular company with investors
Kaushik, Ondřej ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Smýkal, Marek (referee)
The goal of this thesis is the analysis and design of a database for a particular company, which operates in the brokerage of investments. Company needs to cover its need for a structured storage of informations about investors. The main focus of this thesis is therefore accurate analysis of the current requirements of the company, identification of users and use cases of database applications. On these bases are created three models using the methodics "The principle of the three architectures (P3A)". The model reflects the anticipated use of the service applications and these are adapted to it. The resulting database is thus defined with the relevant restrictions and the entire database is ready to create for target DBMS (Microsoft SQL Sever 2008 R2) by using a SQL script. The functionality of the entire database is tested using test data.
Design of the database for courier company
Kolman, Michal ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Tomášková, Barbora (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of requirements and design of database for a courier company engaged in food delivery services. The aim of this thesis is to create a database design that would be used for an application enabling dealing with orders and registration of subjects that have access to them. The the-sis is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to theoretical basis, explanation of important database concepts and how to design a database. The second part deals with the design of the database. I proceeded from the analysis of the courier company across con-ceptual and physical database design to verification of the database with simple commands on the school Oracle database server. The assumed contribution should be an option for employees to track the status of the or-der. The management of the company will have all the information about orders and finan-cial transactions registrated in one place and be able to analyse all the information. Customers should have an easy overview of their benefit program, possibly also of their credit system. Couriers and operators should have an easy overview of cash transactions and the current financial situation of the couriers. On that basis, they should be able to quickly allocate the orders.

The Leiniger and the Giger-Davidhizar assessment model and their use in practice
HRÁZSKÁ, Kateřina
Medical staff and therefore also nurses may currently more and more often meet patients from foreign countries. It is beyond question that these clients have their own specific biological, psychological and social needs which the nurses should respect. Theoretical part of this assignment describes the issue of trans-cultural nursing, defines it and explains its importance and historical development. It also deals with some of the multi-cultural care models, i.e. the models by Leininger, Giger-Davidhizar, Campinhy-Bacote and Bloch's Ethnic Nursing Care. In general it also mentions conceptual nursing models, their definitions, origin and importance. The following goals were set for this dissertation: Goal 1: Map the issues related to the Leininger's and Giger-Davidhizar's models and their practical use in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic. Goal 2: Find out if nurses use aspects of multi-cultural nursing within their nursing care for foreign patients. Goal 3: Find out how the nurses benefit from using the trans-cultural nursing models for foreign patients within their nursing process. Goal 4: Formulate nursing documents suitable for application of nursing care for foreign patients. Based on the above goals, several research questions were defined: 1. What nursing models are used in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic? 2. How do nursing documents in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic respect nursing process specifics when foreign patients are concerned? 3. Are nurses aware (and in what scope) of the principles of the Leininger's and Giger-Davidhizar's models? 4. How do nurses use trans-cultural nursing models when caring for foreign patients? 5. How do nurses, in their opinion, satisfy foreign patients' biological, psychological and social needs with respect to their cultural differences? 6. How do nurses educate themselves in multi-cultural care? In practical part of the work, nursing documents or anamneses from selected hospitals in the Czech Republic were collected and their content was analysed with focus on multi-cultural aspects identification. Gathered results were then plot in charts. In the next phase of the investigation, semi-structured interviews were held with ten nurses working in standard wards of selected health-care facilities which provided nursing anamneses. Each of the nurses worked in different hospital. The outcome of my dissertation is a draft of nursing anamnesis based on the Leininger's model which is suitable for data collection from patients coming from different cultural backgrounds.
Database design for high school
Schoř, Martin ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Chlapek, Dušan (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create alternative and simpler database without unused functions, which can be used by application designed to keep a records of students and teachers and to create and manage timetable of high school. The created database should also be easily extendable. I started by analyzing high school, then created conceptual and physical model of the database and in the end described access rights of users of the database. I've also used a small data sample to test the database in Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2. The expected contribution of this thesis for teachers should be more transparent and simpler database than the one which is currently used by the consulted high schools. The created database should mainly be a contribution for students, who currently have no access at all to the school database. The thesis is mainly focused on the database design and its practical realization with theoretical parts where relevant.
Simulation of the course of the cultural event
Vávra, Michal ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the question of simulation models. It is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The aim of the opening part, in which the fundamental theory is defined, is to familiarize the readers with the ideas and advantages which simulation models can offer. In its practical part the work already focuses on the particular simulation project which should point out the possibilities of utilization of these models in practice. The subject of this project is the simulation of the course of the cultural event in the O2 Arena stadium. The main goal of this project is creation of the authentic simulation model which would on the basis of the later analysis enable the elimination or optimalization of the predefined major problems that are connected with organizing big cultural events in this arena.

The Application of the Virginia Henderson{\crq}s Model in Retirement Home Nursing Care.
KADEŘÁBKOVÁ, Věra
The Application of the Virginia Henderson{\crq}s Model in Retirement Home Nursing Care. Basic unit of the V. Henderson{\crq}s model is the clients{\crq} independence when satisfying their needs. The client is seen as an individual with the needs of assistance when trying to reach health, independence, and peaceful death. The lack of strength, will and knowledge are seen as the source of troubles. The needs the client is not able to satisfy and is in need of assistance are by V. Henderson called as the focus point intervention. The nurse assists to substitute, complete, support or increase the patient{\crq}s strength, will and knowledge. The outcome is the unaided performance in satisfying personal needs or peaceful death. The information about the needs is not documented in the uniform way and that is why every single ward and institution creates its own documentation system, according to its own specifics. The nursing documentation is always inseparable part of the nursing process. This model is determined by its specifics to be used appropriately in elderly people. The goal of this work was to find out all possibilities in using the Virginia Henderson{\crq}s model when caring of clients in the retirement home. There were placed three main questions of the research: 1.To what extents are satisfied the needs of client in the house for elderly people when using nursing documentation compiled according to V. Henderson? 2. Is there any influence of using V. Henderson{\crq}s model of nursing documentation on nursing practice in the retirement home? To what extent are nurses comfortable with the V. Henderson{\crq}s nursing documentation system? The collecting of data was done by the qualitative research investigation, the technique of the direct observation of nurses{\crq} caretaking of the clients, and by detailed interview with the nurses. The research had been done at Retirement Home at Strakonice from April to June 2009. There was created nursing documentation according to V. Henderson{\crq}s system. This documentation was filled out by a nurse and client and followed by searching for the needs of the client and their satisfaction. The nursing planned out specific care of a particular client using nursing process after filling out particular documentation. There has been led direct observation of caretaking provided under new nursing documentation. To assess the care, there was developed the point scale for evaluation of the client needs satisfaction (1-Satisfied, 2-Rather Satisfied, 3-Rather Unsatisfied,4-Unsatisfied). As a next we have been evaluating client{\crq}s level of strength, will and knowledge to be able to satisfy his/her needs (he/she is independent, partly independent, and dependent). The observation outcomes demonstrated that nurses were able to satisfy all of the 14 clients{\crq} needs in most. There were done case reports out of the observations and the results were processed into comprehensible charts. The nurses had been working with the nursery documentation for months followed by detailed interview aimed to inspect the usage of this documentation in nursing of elderly people. All of the five nurses agreed on the applicability of the documentation in nursing practice and that was why the documentation was modified under nurses{\crq} notes and has been applied in practice since. The research goal was accomplished. The nursing documentation has always been integral part of nurse{\crq}s work.It provides all needed information concerning the patient. It can be considered as the prove of ``lege artis{\crq}q practice of the work done. The documentation also serves as the record which is being used for health insurance billing.
The Nurse from a Philosophical Perspective Based Upon the Authors of Selected Nursing Conceptual Models.
KÁPLOVÁ, Hana
This thesis deals with the theme of "The Nurse From a Philosophical Perspective of the Authors of Selected Nursing Conceptual Models". Nursing models contribute to the development of nursing as a separate scientific discipline. Their main contribution is the enrichment of the theoretical part, as well as the help with improving nursing practice in specific situations. In practice, nurses facilitate the planning of nursing care, understanding the problems and they also provide the initial criteria for evaluating the results that have been achieved. The aim of the thesis is to map the knowledge of selected conceptual models among nurses and to learn how they identify themselves with the major issues of the selected conceptual models. To achieve this, the method of quantitative research was chosen, in which three hypotheses there were created. Data collection was conducted by using questionnaires. With the first hypothesis, I wanted to acknowledge is the fact that those nurses with the university degree of education are familiar with the contents of following conceptual models: F. Nightingale, C. Roy and M. Gordon. Furthermore, I looked into the verification of the second hypothesis, which is: nurses with training other than a university degree of education are unaware of the contents of the listed conceptual models: F. Nightingale, C. Roy, J. M. Watson and M. Gordon. The third hypothesis is whether the nurses perceive the provision of nursing as an affectionate and self-sacrificing activity. The results of this research are processed through the use of graphs and tables. The results have indicated that there is a wide base of nursing and its interrelationship with the practice. To the main research results are part the knowledge of nurses of the selected conceptual models and their identification with the major components of above-mentioned conceptual models. Benefits of this work lie in the possibility of the utilization of the discovered knowledge for learning purposes, but it also indicates the possibility of the implementation this knowledge during the fulfillment of nursing interventions in the care of the patient.
The design of database for hotels and guest houses
Vojtek, Michal ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Strossa, Petr (referee)
This bachelor's thesis presents an analysis, design and implementation of a database solution for hotels and guest houses. The main objective of the thesis is to design an efficient database solution covering the functionality of booking, online access, invoicing and complaints systems. It is a comprehensive database solution providing information support both in normal operation and for management work. The secondary objectives can be defined as methods of using the database and the identification of the database user. The thesis has been prepared based on my own experience. The first part of the thesis introduces the systems using the database; this does not refer to any specific applications but only to generally defined systems for which the thesis outlines a potential use for the database. The second part deals with the possibilities offered by the database for specific persons who come in contact with this database. The third part describes a conceptual data model, explaining all its entities and relationships and clarifying the use of integrity constraints. The fourth part introduces another integrity constraint and analyses a database adjustment for RDBMS Oracle Database Express Edition 10g, in which the functionality of the database was tested. The last part proposes security measures and defines access authorizations for tables, introduces created views limiting the volume of data visible for users, and stored procedures serving to automate certain activities.
