Title: Selection and analysis of factors defining formation of the Professional Self- defence Conception within the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. Objectives: The main aim of this work is to understand, define and then analyze factors which are considered to be the most influencing and defining while preparing and forming the Professional Self-defence Conception for the Czech (uniformed) prison staff. It also analyzes educational needs of the (uniformed) prison staff of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic (PS CR) in the field of professional self-defence. It points out and offers particular solutions or options referring to changes in the content and methodology in the teaching of self- defence within the PS CR either. Methods: In the thesis there are used methods of the qualitative research. The selection of the factors (aspects) used for formation of the new Self- defence Conception was made on the basis of empirical cognitive methods; observation, then explanation and experience. Books as a medium and their role in contemporary world - paper or screen?

The purpose of this work is to analyze the newly grown phenomenon of electronic books and electronic publishing, to map consequences of e-books in relation to paper books and to describe its pros and cons. Also, this work tries to compare ebook readers presently available on Czech market, and to make a comparison of most frequently used e-book formats. The future of e-books in the Czech Republic can be inestimable, but this work gives the opinions of some Czech publishers, booksellers and authors, trying to suggest how the future may look like.

Psychology fulltext information resources available via the World Wide Web

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and evaluate fulltext information resources available via the World Wide Web, either for free, or for a fee. The first part of the thesis provides a short introduction into psychology, describes information lifecycle in psychology (with a special focus on scientific information) and gives insight into information needs of psychologists. The following part of the thesis deals with electronic publishing on the Internet and related issues (author rights/copyright and reliability of information), in both cases focused on psychology. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to the analysis and assessment of selected fulltext resources in psychology, such as online journals, fulltext databases, e-print archives, digital libraries, dictionaries, blogs or collaborative systems. It also contains the description of individual resources,assessment of their reliability, description of their content, organization and ways how these resources are made available to the users. The content of the thesis is summed up in the conclusion. Recommendations for the use of resources analyzed in the thesis in the Czech Republic are also presented.

The falls of senior people at home surroundings and their preventions

The tittle: The falls of senior people at home surroundings and thein preventions The goal: The goal of this theses was to finf out the degrese of seniors knowing at preventative moves which can avoid falls and through question forms to analyze how the information about danger from the falls at home surroundings influenced the seniors effort to modify their homes. The mothod: At my thesis I used the mothod of quantity analyses. I obtained the data through questionn aires. The interviewed respondents are senior people at age of 65 and more. I interviewed 130 respondents in total and Theky were dividend into 2 groups according to the age or purposes of this thesis. In the first group are seniors between 65 and 74 and the other group is represented by people at age 75 and more. The questionnaire contained 23 questions and was split u pinto 6 domains. The first free questions were related to personal datas and social background of seniors. Next free questions find out the fall at anamnesis and the others are directed to home safeness, foreknowledge about preventive moves and the reslting behavior of respondents in relation to Pasove increase of home safeness. Health and social care for seniors focused on Královéhradecký region

Demographic aging is a matter of most countries including the Czech Republic. Increasing numbers of older people is related to the fact that increase need for social and health care for these people. The work is focused on the Hradec Kralove Region and the goal is to analyze the demographic structure of the population in terms of aging using various indicators and comparisons. According to projections for 2050 it outline future developments concerning the aging population. The thesis also analyzes the capacity of social and medical devices to specific population numbers. Estimates of required capacity expansion of social and medical devices in 2050, are made based on available forecasts and capacity od devices for the year 2013.

Performance, management and financing of the Prague State Opera after its merger with the Opera of the National Theatre

The work compares available pieces of information about the management of the National Theatre and the Prague State Opera before and after the merger. The work does not aim to formulate final conclusions about the merger, as this extensive process is only in its early stages of development. The aim is to organize unsorted information about opera sphere in Prague, to analyse results achieved so far, to create a comparison with the previous status, and conclude author's own assessment of the direction of the transformation process. The merger is examined from several perspectives. Firstly, the author surveys the economic results and indicators in the long term horizon and interprets them in terms of the organizations themselves, but also in context of the cultural sector and public finance of the Czech Republic. The author draws information on the economic situation mainly from secondary documents, such as annual reports, management conceptions and also internal documents that were provided to the author by economic department of the National Theatre. In addition to economic impacts, the author also looks at other aspects of the merger, which are more qualitative -- such as dramaturgy or changes concerning employees. The author has received primary information for this purpose through personal interviews with current or former employees. In conclusion, the author presents the intentions of the institutions' leadership, as well as its visions for the near future.

Digital information resources in psychology

Cílem rigorózní práce je analyzovat a vyhodnotit digitální informační zdroje v oboru psychologie komerčně nebo volně dostupné v prostředí World Wide Web. Úvodní část práce obsahuje charakteristiku oboru a jeho informační potřeby. Jsou zmíněny instituce, kde vědecká informace vzniká a kde je využívána. V druhé části je pojednáno o problematice elektronického publikování a o terminologických otázkách. Třetí stěžejní část je věnována prezentaci výsledků analýzy a hodnocení vybraných reprezentantů jednotlivých typů digitálních informačních zdrojů z oboru psychologie, kterými zde jsou online časopisy, elektronické archivy a digitální knihovny, bibliografické a plnotextové databáze, elektronické slovníky, elektronické knihy, kolaborativní systémy typu wiki, blogy a osobní stránky, katalogy a rozcestníky. V dílčích částech jsou zdroje charakterizovány a zhodnoceny z hlediska způsobu zpřístupňování obsahu uživatelům. V závěrech je diskutováno o problematice důvěryhodnosti digitálních zdrojů, jsou shrnuty a vyhodnoceny analýzou získané poznatky a formulována doporučení pro využívání zdrojů v ČR

SOUHRN: Název: Explozivní expirace při kašli a její biomechanická charakteristika Title of Work: Explosive Cough Expiration and its Biomechanical Aspects Cíle práce: Cílem práce je podat ucelenou informaci o kašli a jeho vlivu na lidský organismus, analyzovat možnosti výzkumu kašle za použití různých měřících technik a jejich aplikace pro další výzkum. Metoda: V teoretické části byly shrnuty dostupné informace o kašli ve formě utříděné komentované rešerše. V praktické části byl zkoumán kašel formou případové studie různými měřícími přístroji. Byla provedena analýza deformačních charakteristik hrudníku, průtokové mechaniky kašle a záznamu celotělových vibrací způsobených kašlem. Výsledky: Práce přinesla zajímavý pohled na možnosti detekce kašle za použití různých měřících technik. Poukázala na úskalí jednotlivých metod a nastínila další možnosti vědeckého výzkum kašle. Object of the thesis: The final objections of this thesis are to analyse in a wider context the sport training in cross-country skiing of children in the age of 10-12 in the selected skiing clubs in Czech Republic and in Norway. Method: Case study describing two auxiliary views to the education and training of children in cross-country skiing. Comparative analysis of the background material - official annual reports on ski-association's activities - SLČR (Czech Ski Association) and Norges Skiforbund (Norwegian Ski Association). lnformal interviews with experts on training of children in cross-country skiing- J.l. (CZE), P.N.(NO). Findings: Comparison of training systems of children in Norway and in Czech republic may have some profit for the sport training, fmancial secure and outer conditions for sport activities of children in the age of 10-12 in cross-country skiing. Swimming Sport in Jihlava in the Context of Czech and Czechoslovak Swimming

Název práce: Plavecký sport v Jihlavě v kontextu českého a československého plavectví Swimming sport in Jihlava in the context of Czech and Czechoslovak swimming Cíl práce: Cflem diplomové práce je analyzovat vývoj plaveckého sportu na Jihlavsku od jeho počátku do současné podoby. Práce je soustředěna na vývoj organizováni tohoto sportu a mapování plaveckých zařízení. Snahou je tedy zachytit a vyzdvihnout důležité momenty rozvoje plavání v Jihlavě, včetně výstavby a provozu plaveckých zařízení. Metoda: Chronologická a komparativní. Analýza dostupných pramenů vč. jejich vnitřní kritiky (tj. zda fakta odpovídají skutečnosti) a konfrontace. Chronologická metoda je použita v průběhu celé práce, kdy je popisován plavecký sport od jeho vzniku a rozšíření v českých zemích až do jeho moderní podoby. Komparativní metody, která spočívá v porovnávání jednotlivých celků, je užito v kapitole č. 5.3 Počátky plaveckého sportu v Jihlavě. Zdrojem mi byly převážně prameny Okresního archívu v Jihlavě a soukromý materiál a vzpomínky předsedy jihlavského plaveckého klubu PaedDr. Ervína Fridricha. Dalším podkladem byl materiál dostupný v Muzeu města Jihlavy a dále knihy, skripta a časopisy, vztahující se k tématu, dostupné v jihlavské městské knihovně.
