Comparison of cross-strait relations under the Democratic Progressive Party and after the elections in 2008
Dietzová, Tereza ; Knotková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Havlová, Radka (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to compare the relationship between the People's Republic of China and Taiwan in two consecutive seasons. In the first period from 2000 to 2008, when the Democratic Progressive Party was in power, is Taiwan in constitutional crisis, which has a major impact on mutual relations. Beijing's distrust towards the new president is the cause of the strong cooling of relations especially at the political level. Economic and cultural cooperation is not affected by the political events and develops very positively. After Kuomintang toke over the power after elections in 2008, relations improved rapidly, cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China contributes to that. The dialogue between government agencies for mutual relations is established again, based on the actions of these agencies is concluded many agreements that allow the deepening of cooperation mainly on economic and cultural level. At this time there is a historic improvement in relations.

The effects of hypolipidemic therapy on endothelial dysfunction and early atherogenesis in the vessel wall in experimental models of atherosclerosis II.
Steňková, Miroslava ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Semecký, Vladimír (referee)
Arteriosclerosis is a degenerative disease of blood vessels. It's often being reffered as "20th century disease". Double knockouted mice (apoE/LDL-receptor-double-knockout) represent a new model, which is able to evolve a serious grade of hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerosis. It was discovered, that in case of apoE/LDLr-DKO mice even ordinary nourishment led to a stronger progression of arteriosclerosis when compared to apoE apoprotein - only - defective mice. Statins (3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-coenzyme A-reductase inhibitors) form currently most effective and most widely used group of hypolipidemics with positive effects on serum lipid levels and even on total and cardiovascular mortality in general. Statins decrease mainly levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. The aim of this study was to verify whether atorvastatin posses similar antiatherogenic effects in apoE/LDL-receptor-deficient-mice as were shown in humans. To that we analyzed blood lipid spectrum, expression of inflammatory markers in atherosclerotic plaques and the size of atherosclerotic lesions. All mice were fed with experimental diet from the age of 8 weeks. The animals were randomly divided in two groups. The control group of the animals was fed with the atherogenic diet only and in the atorvastatin group, the diet was...

Strategic Business Activities of a chosen Firm
Policarová, Martina ; Pirožek, Petr (advisor) ; Tyráček, Petr (referee)
The proposition of company KERAMIS koupelny s.r.o. strategic business activities are the graduation thesis topic. I worked individual strategic analyses (PEST analysis, 5 powers Porter's model, value deskriptor analysis, financial analysis and SWOT analysis) and I designated concrete stability strategy on the basis of analyses results in relation to marketing, R&D, human resources, finance and products. According to my investigations the firm should continue in its business branch and shouldn't broaden its business in whole building industries. The firm hat to decrease its indebtedness, search all the time new product suppliers, who offer better trading conditions and new products, endeavour to canvass exclusive dealership in the region and financially motivate staffs depending on their staff productivity. Further I advise 3D graphics computer software and delivery van buying and investment in websites optimalization (SEO). The future firm progression depends on financial resources sufficiency and subsequent occasions realization.

Fractal analysis of economic time series
Krýcha, Josef ; Tichý, Vladimír (advisor) ; Smrčka, Pavel (referee)
This thesis focuses on fractal analysis of economic time series. Chapter One introduces fractal analysis as a method of exploring time series and gathers information about progress and current state of understanding in this field. Chapter Two focuses on design and development of computer software, which will calculate selected fractal indices. Chapter Three is experimental and shows the results and discussion of economic time series (popular stock market indexes and currency exchange rate) analysis that have been obtained from the software developed in Chapter Two.

Computer and internet crimes
Zeman, Daniel ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Herczeg, Jiří (referee)
in English In my thesis I have tried to analyze questions connected to information in general, as in my opinion the most valuable articles of our days. Information society, of which we are part of, is surrounded with information and has developed certain mechanisms, procedures and technology. My aim has been to consecrate a usage of information and communications technology. We can say that nowadays advanced world is almost perfectly linked and networked. It is done by virtue of increasing availability of computers and other communication instruments; another reason is constantly escalating technological ingenuity of their interconnection. Crucial role in this matter plays Internet, the net of nets, offering still faster, cheaper and more variable connection of its segments. It enables receiving and providing for information without any territorial, contentual, quantity limitation. Technological progression, which information sector shows, is unusually dynamic and also blond our control. Advances of the development go hand in hand with its disadvantages, to be specific with exploitation of computers and Internet. The question therefore is, if the proportion of benefits information and communications technology and its misuse stays the same and only the quantity extent rises. The answer is...

The influence of parameters of samples on mechanical properties of biological materials
Roušarová, Pavla ; Kuchařová, Monika (advisor) ; Ďoubal, Stanislav (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of biophysics and physical chemistry Candidate: Pavla Roušarová Supervisor: Mgr. Monika Kuchařová Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The influence of parameters of samples on mechanical properties of biological materials. In this diploma thesis I dealt with the influence of dimensions of samples of biological material, namely bovine bones, to change their mechanical characteristics measured in static and dynamic mode. Samples were measured on a dynamic elastomers developed at the Department of Biophysics and Physical Chemistry. For our experiment we obtained three samples that had different dimensions, in terms of width, height and length. It was the shin bone (tibia) of a young bull (Bos taurus primigenius f). Animal slaughter age was 20 weeks and the bones were obtained 1 day after slaughter. Impulse response for each sample was measured three times. After every fifth repeated measurements, the distance between the sample and movable measuring system has shrunk by 2 mm. The computer evaluated dynamic modul Ed and viscosity η - which we then transformed into a graph, such as dependence on length. Step characteristic for each sample was measured three times. After every fifth repeated measurements, the distance between the...

Distributed Sytem for Verification of Properties of Natural Numbers
Tomisová, Martina ; Peterek, Nino (referee) ; Mírovský, Jiří (advisor)
The result of my work is a system for distributed verification of properties of natural numbers. It has two parts - server and client. These communicate via HTTP protocol. The clients perform the computation, the server distributes the work (numbers) and gather results (properties of the given numbers). The input of one computation should be one natural number, as well as the result (output). The distribution can be used for verification of a given property for several natural numbers. Particular jobs can be added to the client as plugins. Two examples of plugins are a part of the work. The first one is very simple and shows how to create plugins. The second example searches for prime numbers (and has it's own arithmetics library for long numbers) - the server can distribute (possibly big) numbers, the client will verify whether a given number is a prime number.
